FUN FITNESS FOR OVER FIFTIES –Katrina Friday July 18th—September 19th 2-3pm $72 8 weeks (8th & 15th Aug no class) In the studio at the Meredith Community Centre. “Strength and fitness” class for focusing on the over 50 age group. Suitable for men and women of all fitness levels and abilities and will benefit those with health conditions, including osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes and chronic heart disease. All classes are supervised by a qualified and experienced trainer, specialising in the needs of older adults.

INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC AND DANCE OF CUBA – Colin Tuesday 29th July 7-8.30pm $15 Come along to this first time introduction class. Learn the basic steps to salsa (the music and dance of Cuba) while learning the history of the music at the same time. The movements have a low impact on the body and help to maintain a healthy body and mind. Each class is structured to ease the participant through particular movements. Participants of varying ages and abilities are encouraged to learn at their own pace, gaining greater strength and balance throughout the classes.

ADVANCED TAI CHI—Patricia In the Meredith Memorial Hall, Meredith. Tuesday July 15th-September 16th 11.30-12.30pm 10 weeks $115 This class shows you advanced moves in Tai Chi that help with your physical and mental-well being.

OTHER SERVICES BOOK LIBRARY Members are welcome to borrow and swap books and magazines from the library. PUBLIC INTERNET-COMPUTER Internet and computers available for public use on Mon, Wed and Thurs only when qualified staff are in attendance. $2.00 per hour plus a printing charge.

OCCASIONAL CARE Caring staff and a quality program Occasional Care is available for pre 4 year old kinder children at the Community Centre during the school terms Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Friday 9:15-12:15pm Our licensed childcare service is registered under the DEECD. We have Federal approval to provide access to the Childcare Benefit and Childcare Rebate which assists in making care in our centre affordable.

BEE KEEPING

Wednesday August 20th 10am-3pm $35 Please collect materials list. Make a simple pinwheel, cut it up and turn it into a different block, or two, use one main colour and one background colour or use lots of colours.

Tutor: Colin Dates: Tuesday August 19th Time: 7-8.30pm Cost: $20 Join Colin and learn the basics of beekeeping, how to look after your bees, how to set up the hives.

ZENTANGLE-LEE Saturday 16th August 10.30-12.30pm Cost: $45 Following on from the basic class in May the girls have already stepped out of their comfort zone and are ready for an advanced class at the Meredith Community Centre. New participants are also welcome Zentangle is an addictive repetitive art form that focuses on fun and relaxation while drawing to create pleasing images using repetitive patterns.

BREAD MAKING AND YUMMY SOUP-FIONA Monday 4th August 9-12pm Cost: $15 Including ingredients Make beautiful bread by hand and a lovely soup to go with it. Bring a 4 litre ice cream container and apron. 3 places only available per class. Share your creations over lunch. If there are sufficient numbers we will run another class on Monday 18th August from 9-12pm.

CREATIVE PAINTING窶認OLK ART Tutor: Joy Date Friday July 18th-September 19th Time: 9.30-11:30am Cost: $10 per class Have fun and learn to use acrylic paints for painting pictures and decorating a variety of items. These can make great gifts for family/friends.

ENROLMENT INFORMATION The Meredith Community Centre aim to provide activities to suit a range of tastes and interests. Sometimes if we do not have sufficient enrolments to cover our costs we may not be able to run and advertised class. COURSE FEES All ACFE classes are in line with the Ministerial Fees and Charges Policy. Additional Course amenity fees may apply.

BEER MAKING Tutor: John Dates: Monday August 11th & 25th Time: 7-9pm Cost: $40 Learn about making your own beer. Our tutor John will be teaching 2 different brews and you will be able to take home the fruits of your labour. John will also be talking about how you can make gluten free beer and other great tips and tricks.

ROOM HIRE The Community Centre has rooms to hire for group meetings as well as for training purposes. Great local facilities at Reasonable rates.
