27 TH Annual High School Visual Art Competition

Application Deadline: Oct. 23, 2023 ▶ Free to Submit

In one of the largest high school art competitions in the Kansas City metro region, student artists showcase their work in watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylics, drawing, 3D, photography, and computer generated art. Area high school artists may submit three digital images for consideration. Prizes are awarded to the top three pieces in each category.

28 TH Annual Heartland Artist Exhibition

Application Deadline: Jan. 10, 2024 ▶ $45 Entry Fee

Accepted mediums include oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil, photography, or a mixture of any of the above media. Each artist can submit up to three digital images for consideration. Find more information at merriam.org/heartland.

Get a Head Start - Apply for the 2025 Monthly Exhibits

Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 31, 2024 ▶ FREE to Submit

Start organizing and collecting your works of art so you’re ready for next year’s application deadline! Interested artists may submit five digital images of their work. All exhibited paintings and photographs must be matted and framed unless a wrap-around-canvas technique is utilized. Any works accepted in the Heartland Artist Exhibition aren’t eligible. Considered media includes photography, watercolor, pastel, oil or acrylic, ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, and glass. At least 90% of the show’s work must be for sale.
