and Spencer are really solid year in and year out. Le Mars is going to be better, and Denison-Schleswig could be right there too with (former Iowa State Cyclone defensive back) Kamari (Cotton-Moya) in his second season (as head coach). They have quite a few all-district kids back.”
Six Monarchs were honored a year ago and will return in 2022: first-team standout and three-year starter Jaxson Hildebrand; second-teamers Derek Scheuring, Noah Faya and Jake Fink; and honorable mention choices Jordan Von Tersch and Luke Wiebers. Webster City welcomes five all-district athletes back, as does Spencer with Campbell Wessels (first team), Logan Huckfelt (first team), Riley DeWitt (second), Kaleb Cline (honorable mention) and Ben Kroll (honorable mention).
Jim Tighe has helped guide the Tigers to the postseason 10 times. Spencer was 7-3 overall last year.
Two-way Le Mars talent Elijah Dougherty, a running back and a linebacker, will anchor the Bulldogs and head coach Ken Vigdal.
