BOUND SURFACING

YRC RESIN DRIVES OF DISTINCTION

COMPLETES ITS LARGEST INSTALLATION AT GRANTLEY HALL HOTEL AND SPA A Harrogate-based resin driveway company has completed a resin bound installation contract at one of the country’s newest luxury hotels and spa retreats. YRC Resin Drives of Distinction was commissioned by Grantley Hall & Spa to lay a new resin surface to its courtyard and front car park.

YRC’s Resiflex bound gravel is designed to be installed on a variety of finishes. The benefits of which include a natural long-lasting appearance which is permeable and provides a smooth finish, is naturally anti-slip and low maintenance. A wide range of colours are available, including “Devonshire”, the choice of Grantley Hall.

The hotel, near Ripon, opened last year following a £70 million, fouryear transformation of the former country home and one-time West Riding County Council adult training centre, into a boutique five star 47-bedroom hotel.

Mark Kennedy said: “Grantley Hall has rightly taken its place as one of the most luxurious hotels and spas in the country, and I’m delighted that YRC has played its part in this impressive project.

For its part, YRC - which launched in 2007 by Mark Kennedy - laid its Resiflex bound gravel to the prominent areas in front of the hotel’s main entrance.

“The stone aggregate and resin are ‘bound together’ using a specialist mechanical mixer which wraps the resin around the stone. It’s then installed on to the surface by hand

by our directly employed, trained, installation technicians which ensures that we facilitate the control and quality. “It was a great project for YRC to be involved in and gave us the opportunity to show case perfectly the quality of our workmanship.” Richard Sykes, Managing Director at Grantley Hall, said: “The customer experience begins with their arrival at Grantley Hall and first appearances very much count. We are delighted with the work of YRC and the courtyard and carpark look superb.”
