THE ARGENTARIO GOLF & WELLNESS
RESORT, NESTLED IN NATURE, IS ONE OF TUSCANY’S MOST COMPELLING
LUXURY DESTINATIONS
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Monte Argentario promontory in south west Tuscany, the Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort is one of Tuscany’s most compelling luxury destinations thanks to its striking design features, its lavish Italianchic interiors and its extensive spa and wellness centre that provides nourishment to body and soul and an unforgettable holiday.
With summer on the horizon, the ecological Resort is looking forward to welcoming discerning travellers that venture to the relatively undiscovered region of the Maremma to treat themselves to a stay of the utmost luxury and relaxation surrounded by stunning land and seascapes.
This 5-star hotel, designed to resemble a giant dragonfly from
above, offers all the old-world glamour and seductive charm of a private Tuscan hideaway and more. Its sleek, modern look with statement features, such as the expansive reception with its commanding white spiral staircase throughout the backbone of the property and its gigantic floorto-ceiling windows, make for a memorable arrival at the Resort.
Once ensconced in this haven of tranquillity tucked away in the Maremma, the state-of-the-art amenities, restaurants, spa and wellness centre and exceptional personal service combine to create the ultimate place to relax and unwind in beautiful, aesthetic surroundings.
The property’s 73 rooms and suites offer restful retreats that are wonderfully appointed using local organic materials and elegant furnishings curated by Milan-based interior designer, Andrea Fogli. All come with individual wooden terraces overlooking a natural scape of land and sea that ensure total privacy.
Set in over 70 hectares of nature reserve, the Resort is also home to an opulent collection of bespoke villas that are ideal for those seeking unparalleled privacy (the residences are accessible only by private buggy) and tranquillity whilst at the same immersing oneself in the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean.
The independent villas blend seamlessly into the landscape whilst also offering mesmerising panoramic views of the Orbetello Lagoon, Talamone Bay, the golf course and local polo club. The spacious, open-plan properties feature achingly stylish interior
furnishings and striking design whilst the exterior wooden decks provide the allure of al fresco living, with loungers, hot tubs and barbecues.
The latest addition to the collection, the exquisite Maremma Cottage – Lagoon Bay, exudes elegance and sophistication and has a well thought out layout designed to cater to every guest’s needs. The villa has a lavish living room with an ethanol fireplace, whilst
the dining area invites you to prepare delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen that features stylish Italian furniture and the latest appliances. On the accommodation side, the villa is home to a stunning master bedroom with a sumptuous kingsized bed, hot tub, and Turkish bath, and three additional bedrooms all come with en-suite bathrooms.
Other villa options include the five-bedroomed Hills Lodge, perched on a hilltop, which lends itself perfectly to engaging oneself with the serenity of the surroundings. Styled with the finest contemporary details and marine accents of the Silver Coast, this spacious villa is a sanctuary of peace and privacy.
Elevating the quintessential Tuscan country house to new heights of sophistication is the threebedroomed Locker Cottage, which is set amidst a sprawling 2,230m² garden, rich in olive trees, lavender, rosemary and a host of other Mediterranean plants.
Two additional types of Maremma Cottages – Olive Trees and Horse
Track – each offer a unique interior design theme to captivate the senses and reflect the environment. They, too, have three bedrooms and large decked terraces with loungers and outdoor hot tubs.
Each villa rental includes a VIP welcome, daily buffet breakfast, access to the spa and wellness facility and personalised concierge
services. Guests can also enjoy the convenience of daily housekeeping, 24/7 security, and a range of amenities designed to ensure their stay gives unparalleled heights of indulgence. Other services are provided upon request, from private chef services to wellness treatments, in the comfort of your villa.
Away from the villas, guests can unwind around one of the hotel’s two swimming pools (either the heated indoor pool with saline water or the outdoor pool) by the 2,700 m² Espace Wellness Centre and MediSPA or, if preferred, get into shape (both body and soul) thanks to a fitness centre with Technogym equipment, bio-sauna with chromotherapy, Kneipp circuit, six massage and treatment cabins and tanning showers plus numerous other services.
In the evening, the relaxation mode continues at Argentario as guests indulge in the tasty specialities of the local environment. The Aper Bar, where in-house cocktail maestro, Giuseppe Calo, serves mouth-watering refreshments created using his own homemade fruit essences and compotes, is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset overlooking the Orbetello Lagoon.
Then it’s time to savour the finest local wines and fine dining cuisine, created by local chef Emiliano Lombardelli, that is served in the stylish Dama Dama Restaurant, named after the fallow deer that occasionally roam the Resort. His
kitchen is based on the flavours and colours of the nearby terrain with dishes prepared using organic produce from small, carefully selected local farms and local fishermen and, at certain times of the year, directly from the hotel’s organic vegetable garden and orchard.
Each dish is carefully presented in a creative and modern fashion, ensuring that supper at the Dama Dama is a captivating journey through both the local terroir and Mediterranean cuisine; a sensory experience that excites the palate
and takes you to the heart of gastronomic delight.
For more casual dining, there is the option of healthy Mediterranean dishes, again with local influences, on offer in the comfortable Club House Restaurant and its spacious wooden terrace overlooking the 9th green of the golf course and beyond. Both restaurants have an extensive list of fine local terrain and Italian wines to choose from whilst the olive oil on offer at every meal is made from olives harvested annually on the estate.
For those guests looking to explore the Maremma during their stay, the concierges at Argentario are their disposal to organize helicopter tours around the local environs from the on-site heliport at the north of the property as well as arrange yacht and boat rentals for visiting small private coves around the promontory or experiencing some local fishing. Further afield trips to charming hilltop villages, the cultural cities of Florence, Rome and Siena, vineyards for wine tasting and oil mills for olive oil sampling are all easily accessible from the Resort.
For those looking for a more active break alongside some R&R, there are nature walks in the hills, horse riding in the nearby national park and on-site Pirelli e-bikes for hire to explore the quaint fishing towns of Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano and the nearby famous Silver Coast beaches with their crystal-clear waters and golden sand.
However there’s no real need to venture from the Resort at all if you do not wish to as there are plenty of activities on offer within the confines of the Argentario estate; tennis and padel courts, jogging paths that meander through the golf course and the edge of the forest, a mini football pitch as well as an outdoor fitness station offer a range of opportunities to get the heart thumping.
For golfers, the eco-friendly 18 hole championship course, home to the Italian Open in 2025, offers the chance for a few enjoyable hours walking in and out of natural Mediterranean vegetation on the front nine and ancient olive groves on the inward nine holes, followed off course by an ice cold beer at the 19th hole in the Club House!

themselves at the Anantara Spa, find their inner peace in dedicated yoga and meditation studios, level up their workout at the top-of-theline fitness centre, how to ride the waves from the on-site surf school or relax at the beach lounge or one of three swimming pools. The property will include three dining outlets: an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty Japanese restaurant and a poolside bar.
Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International, commented, “Global travellers cannot get enough of Bali as arrivals grow well past prepandemic levels. Today’s travellers continue to look for new ways to appreciate Bali’s rich heritage and the island’s diverse experiences. MAR-BELLA COLLECTION ANNOUNCES NEW HOTEL AVALI, SET TO OPEN IN SUMMER 2025
Located on the Greek island of Corfu, Avali will be the fourth property to open by the familyowned luxury hospitality brand.
Mar-Bella Collection, a familyowned Greek luxury hospitality brand, is delighted to announce that it will open a new hotel, Avali, in summer 2025. Nestled in the prime beachfront setting of Agios Ioannis Peristeron in south-west Corfu, the new hotel is less than 600-metres from the brand’s established MarBella and Nido hotels. The hotel will open following the meticulous rebuild of an existing property with 76 rooms and suites, catering to free-spirited young families, solo travellers and groups of friends seeking barefoot luxury.
Named Avali – a dialect of Corfu, meaning ‘a small bay’ – the property
is set between verdant mountains and a 300-metre sandy pebbled beach on the sparkling Ionian Sea. It will be home to an expansive infinity pool, three-acres of lush gardens and a Beach House, which will be available for guests from across the Mar-Bella Collection portfolio to enjoy.
Developed with sustainability in mind, state-of-the-art energyefficient materials have been used throughout and the team have partnered with a horticulturist to showcase native plant species. The natural surroundings – including the mountains, olive groves, foliage and beach – have also inspired Avali’s
fresh design. A calming colour palette will be used throughout, harnessing warm natural tones that reflect its beachside setting.
With a strong focus on gastronomy, Avali will offer guests a choice of two restaurant concepts and three bars. At the centre of the hotel will be an all-day restaurant, which will serve a buffet breakfast that showcases local ingredients every morning. For lunch and dinner, the open-kitchen will then offer an a la carte fusion menu of Mediterranean and Asian dishes. In the evening, guests can also enjoy a second outdoor a-la carte grill restaurant, with views across the sweeping bay.
Making the most of the resort’s proximity to Mar-Bella Collection’s other two Corfu properties, guests from all three hotels will be able to take advantage of a Dine Around programme. Utilising a daily allowance, guests can book into the a la carte restaurants to sample the impressive variety of cuisines on offer.
Avali will be home to a cosy lobby bar, a pool bar and the Beach House. The latter will be the heart of the hotel, serving as day time hangout, serving beach snacks, before transforming into an evening destination. Welcoming likeminded guests from across the Collection it will epitomise the barefoot luxury vibe of Avali.
Ensuring that Avali’s active guests can be kept entertained, the hotel will also have an indoor fitness area, an outdoor shaded yoga deck, and an outdoor spa cabin offering spa treatments in a private beach setting. There will also be a watersports centre with stand-up paddle boards, canoes and kayaks. MarBella and Nido’s facilities will be easily accessible and local tavernas are also within walking distance.
With a remarkable legacy spanning three generations, Mar-Bella Collection remains dedicated to providing unparalleled holiday experiences for its guests; while seamlessly interconnected, each property possesses its own distinctive character, catering to discerning travellers who may be looking for a different type of holiday at different stages of their life. For example,
Avali will cater to a new generation of travellers, who seek luxury in a more relaxed setting that is connected to the surrounding environment. Meanwhile, MarBella provides a premium all-inclusive experience catering to the modern multi-generational family. Nido is an adult only hotel, offering a calm and elegant atmosphere, tailored for couples, friends and solo travellers. Elix, located on the mainland, appeals to design enthusiasts, grown-up families and beach lovers seeking outdoor adventure and a more off-the-beaten-track destination.
“We are thrilled to announce the forthcoming opening of Avali, a new beachfront hotel concept for summer 2025. Our latest investment in Avali is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in hospitality as we diversify our offering to cater to the modern traveller,” says Vassilis Dracopoulos, owner of Mar-Bella Collection.

THE TAYCAN E-XPERIENCE TOUR – FROM STUTTGART TO ISTANBUL
Sporty, comfortable and economical: on a road trip from Stuttgart to Istanbul, Mayk Wienkötter, press spokesman for the Taycan and electromobility at Porsche, puts the long-distance capability of the electric sports car and the en-route charging infrastructure to the test before meeting friends from the Taycan Club Turkey.
It’s 08:00 on a Thursday morning at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen: departure time for an almost-4,500-kilometre road trip. We head southeast, for a journey to Istanbul and back. There are seven countries to cross, plus lots of toll stations and border controls, which means inevitable queues. The test car is well equipped for the task: a new Taycan Sport Turismo with Performance Battery Plus and rear-wheel drive. It promises 320 kW (Taycan Sport Turismo with Performance Battery Plus (2024): Electric power consumption* combined (WLTP) 20.9 – 17.9 kWh/100 km, CO emissions* combined (WLTP) 0 g/ km, CO2 class A ), a top speed of 230 km/h, and a WLTP range of 650 km.
There are no surprises at the start of our trip: thanks to Stuttgart’s rush hour traffic it takes almost 45 minutes to get to the A8 towards Munich. There is a lot going on. We drive quickly where it is possible and permitted. Drive fast, charge fast is our strategy. The Porsche Charging Service provides access to charging points from various providers around the world. Currently, almost 700,000 charging points in 24 countries are connected in Europe. Whenever possible, we’re aiming to charge at IONITY stations.
Our first stop is the Golling West service station, 417 km away. Travel time: just under four hours. We modulate the speed so that we arrive with our battery as depleted as possible and get there with an
average consumption of 22 kWh. it’s worth noting that the IONITY station is not in the direction of travel, but on the other side, however we’re able to access it via a road under the A10 motorway. Six charging stations are available and we’re able to plug straight in and begin charging. Thanks to Plug and Charge, we don’t have to authenticate ourselves separately via an app or charging card. However, the charging power falters at 180 kW, suggesting something is wrong. A quick glance is enough to work out that the charging park consists of four older charge points and two newer ones. We quickly switch from old to new and the Taycan immediately starts charging at more than 300 kW. Time for a quick comfort break, and to pick up a coffee and buttered pretzel.
After 18 minutes, we’ve reached 80 per cent – normally the time to get back on the road – but as we want to make our next charging stop more than 400 km away at the southernmost IONITY charger in Croatia, we decide to keep going to more than 90 per cent before continuing our journey.
HEADING SOUTH
Austria, like Stuttgart, turns out to be busy. Many campers are heading south. At the Villach junction we change from the A10 to the A11. Shortly afterwards we drive through the Karawanken tunnel, which stretches for almost eight kilometres and links Austria and Slovenia. The speed limit in the latter is 130 km/h: a good cruising speed for the Sport Turismo. We pass the capital Ljubljana on the A2 eastwards. We pay the toll online, just like in Austria, and note that the waiting times at the toll stations are short. Our next charging stop is planned for south of Zagreb. After a good eight hours of driving, we reach Sop – and the southernmost IONITY chargers. The four charging points are not located directly on the roadside, but a short detour away in a village of 350 people, next to a fuel station. Again, the charging power falters somewhat. This time at 165 kW. Since two other charging points are occupied, we don’t reconnect, but instead enjoy an excellent coffee while we wait.
On such a long road trip, we can afford to lose a little bit of time. And within 18 minutes we are back at 74 per cent. Since our last leg of the day is almost 400 km again, we treat the Taycan to a few extra electrons. In Croatia, the speed limit is also 130 km/h. For the toll stations here, we organised a transponder in advance but after functioning fine at the first station it doesn’t work at the second. We pay the 16.90 euros in cash instead. Crossing the border into Serbia is much more time-consuming than the earlier crossings. The Balkan state is not
yet an EU member, and this can be felt at the border, among other places. Every traveller’s passport is stamped to document their entry. From the border to our hotel in Belgrade it is just a little more than 100 km. You can pay at the toll stations either in cash or by card. The fees are low, at the equivalent of four euros. After 1,200 km and a solid 12 hours of driving, we reach our hotel in the city centre and leave the Taycan to fully charge overnight at the wallbox.
The next morning we continue early at 07:30. There are another 1,000 km to go. However, the charging infrastructure network is becoming sparser and the we’re beyond the boundary of the Porsche Charging Service. In practice, this means that charging planning still works very well, but an app or charging card from another provider is needed at each charging station. But before we get to that we enjoy the empty highways of Serbia and soak up the beautiful landscape. Since there is hardly any traffic, we can safely increase our cruising speed.
300 KW PLATEAU CHARGING CURVE COMPENSATES FOR CONGESTION
In Bulgaria we return to EU territory. Having paid the toll online in advance we can enjoy the speed limit of 140 km/h. Since the highways are equally deserted here, we make very good progress and plan our first charging stop for the day in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, 400 km from Belgrade, using the Bulgarian FINES app. We have already registered on the app in advance, and at a car dealership on the ring road to Sofia’s south, there is a 300 kW charger. A very long traffic jam in the city means it takes more than six hours to get there but the Taycan and charger compensate for this with a stable 300 kW charging ‘curve’. After just 16 minutes, the 800-volt battery is two-thirds full again, which is more than enough energy for the next 275 km to the Bulgarian border.
As if out of nowhere, the highway is suddenly jammed with traffic – not because of an accident or breakdown, but simply lots of
weekend day-trippers on their way to the Black Sea coast on this Friday afternoon. No wonder at 36 degrees. Unfortunately, the beach isn’t an option for us. Instead, our next stop is at a fast charger with two connectors, next to a hotel. One is 120 kW and one is 180 kW. Here we charge to almost 90 per cent while stretching our legs and filling up on water and coffee. The last section to Istanbul is again 275 km in length and this time the motorways are empty. We make good progress and reach our final destination: after a total of almost 2,200 km and a good 25 hours, we’re in Istanbul.
ISTANBUL –BELGRADE – SOP - LJUBLJANA –ZUFFENHAUSEN
The next morning, at the city’s modern Galata Port, we join a Taycan Meet and Greet that we’ve organised together with Porsche Turkey. Some 25 cars turn up, and we’re there with our four new Taycans, a Taycan Turbo GT and a new electric Macan. The mood is
good, the music loud. Many passersby take the opportunity to look at the latest models and take a selfie. There are around 2,000 Taycan sports cars on the road in Turkey, such is its popularity here.
On Monday morning we begin our journey home – back to Stuttgart via Belgrade. The first stage is 250 km long and as we don’t have enough ‘in the tank’ to drive all the way to Sofia, we make a sixminute ‘splash and dash’ stop on the highway at a 150 kW charger.
Unfortunately, it’s on the other side of the road and it takes time to get there.
At around 13:30 we arrive at a 300 kW charger next to a large car dealership. We charge from nine to 81 per cent in just 20 minutes. The charging performance means we can overlook the fact that, unlike other charging locations in this area, there is no toilet or café. With the final 400 km of the day under way, we head from Bulgaria back to Serbia. The traffic is much better than on the outward journey and we make good progress. The temperature rises again to up to 37 degrees but the Taycan runs like clockwork. The heat doesn’t bother this all-electric sports car. In Lapovo we pause to refresh ourselves. The Charge & GO charger only delivers 100 kW, but it’s still a completely sufficient rate to charge at on a long journey. After 18 minutes, the journey continues. Comfortable and fast, it takes us less than 12 hours to cover the almost 1,000 km to our destination in Belgrade. At the hotel we charge the car for free. We end the evening relaxing on the roof terrace.
PROBLEM-FREE CHARGING STOP THANKS TO PLUG AND CHARGE
At 7:00 the following morning, we set off, with 1,200 km on the day’s schedule. The batteries of the driver, passenger and car are all nicely topped up and we leave the Serbian capital via the Danube to the north. The speed limit is 130 km/h. Since there is hardly any traffic, the average speed is not much lower. Our first charging stop is an old acquaintance: the same roadside IONITY charger in Sop, Croatia, that we visited on our way south. Thanks to Plug and Charge, the charging process starts
without any problems, and we recharge more than 82 kWh within 21 minutes.
Shortly after 09:00, we are back on the road, heading for Slovenia and then on to Austria. The further north we get, the lower the temperature gets. It also starts to rain a little. We pass the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and take in the magnificent landscape. Towards Austria we have some hills to climb. About 330 km after our last stop, we reach the IONITY charging station in Eisentratten. Here, it takes us 19 minutes to recharge more than 81 kWh – a record for us. There is hardly any time to talk to the Taycan driver next to us, and we set off, with just 500 km left to go. Around Munich, a traffic jam spoils even higher average speeds. After that, the motorway gets quieter and the Taycan can once again show us what it is made of. One last, eightminute stop in Jettingen-Scheppach is enough to reach our final destination: the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen.
What a road trip! We’ve completed almost 4,400 km with an average consumption of less than 23 kWh. Since we were able to charge for free in the hotels we stayed in, the charging costs amount to less than 250 euros. Proof that the Taycan is not only sporty and comfortable, but also economical.
Maggiore Project M is an exclusive project to relive the fantastic 80s with the most modern technology and the finest materials.
A perfect mix of Heritage, Design, Technology, and Italian Style to create unique and totally customizable pieces, like a tailored suit.
Only 40 cars will be produced, all following the wishes of each customer.
M like Maggiore, but also M like Magnum P.I., the iconic series tv where Tom Selleck shared the show with his amazing Ferrari 308, a car with a soul and with an unmistakable line which can survive through the ages.
The project is a genuine “tribute”, not in the sense of nostalgia but rather giving new life to cars that in time might have been relegated to museums or closed in the garages of collectors.
A modern reinterpretation of an iconic star of 80s, using the best technology and a deep attention to Heritage and Design.
The donor car is a real Ferrari 308 and the starting point are the original chassis and the original engine, but then all the parts have been completely re-Designed and re-built to guarantee reliability and performance of these days with a vintage allure.
The body is completely realized in carbon fiber to reduce the weight, all the mechanical components have been upgraded or re-Designed and the interiors have been refreshed with high end materials, such as leather, carbon fiber and marble, a touch of our roots and a sign of our customization program.
The research into the materials and colours to use was carried out by the Studio Stefan Scholten, a Design studio based in Amsterdam with many Italian influences. It was precisely this union of modern Northern European design commingling with Italian culture and Mediterranean styles that inspired us to choose this studio as partner for the development of this project.
There will not exist 2 cars with the same specs!
The internal components of the engine are all new, the suspensions are made of lightweight aluminum alloy, a new Brembo brake system and bigger alloy wheels.
The aim of Automobili Maggiore was to put the driver back at the center of the stage, that’s why you can find a manual gearbox and a high rev natural aspirated engine ready to go up to 8000 rpm.
The Engine has been rebuilt by Italtecnica, a well-known Italian company specialized in racing and special projects.
400 HP for 1200kg, with a manual shift to change gears and without electronic controls....Driving pleasure is guaranteed!
THE BATUR CONVERTIBLE THE NEXT CHAPTER OF LUXURY, PERFORMANCE AND PERSONALISATION, COACHBUILT BY MULLINER
Bentley Motors has revealed the third coachbuilt Bentley of the modern era - the Batur Convertible.
Created by Mulliner, Bentley’s in house bespoke division and the longest standing coachbuilder in the world, the Batur Convertible follows the exquisitely handcrafted Bacalar barchetta and Batur coupe. With the Batur Convertible, Mulliner continues its long tradition of crafting truly individual cars, tailored to the wishes of each of its extraordinary clients.
The Batur Convertible furthers the innovative design DNA introduced by its coupe sibling that will ultimately guide the design of Bentley’s future cars. The Batur Convertible retains the most powerful version of Bentley’s iconic W12, with a 750 PS, hand-assembled 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine that has metaphorically and literally powered Bentley’s success for the last two decades. With the engine to finish production this
summer, the Batur Convertible will be one of the last ever Bentleys to use this incredible powertrain.
BESPOKE TWO-SEAT GRAND TOURING
Bentley has a rich history of open-cockpit cars, from the very first Bentley of 1919, through the company’s foundation years in the 1920s, to the most recent - the Bacalar. The architecture of the Batur Convertible has allowed Mulliner’s designers to seize the opportunity to create a theme that not only blends the design of the Bacalar and Batur but includes the usability of a convertible. The designers also chose to highlight the two-seater character with a ‘wraparound’ cockpit inspired by the design of the Bacalar.
The dramatic ‘airbridge’ behind the seats and tapered cowls at the rear hark back to the barchetta sports cars of old, whilst underlining the promise of a dynamic, driverfocused adventure in a cosseting, cocooned environment. The airbridge and tapered cowls are not only aesthetic, but also provide a semi-enclosed luggage compartment behind the two front seats.
The convertible roof delivers an aesthetic of beauty as a modern, tactile alternative to a hardtop roof. A combination of insulation material, sealing system refinements and acoustic treatments create a cossetting environment in a system which can be deployed or stowed in just 19 seconds, with the car travelling
at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h), transforming the car from a luxurious coupe into an opentop Grand Tourer at the touch of a button.
PERSONAL AND UNIQUELY COMMISIONED
Mulliner’s in-house design team will help co-create every Batur Convertible with its customer, working together through a specially created Mulliner visualiser that allows any part of the car to be customised in colour and surface finish. Endless samples of unique materials bring texture to the process, and the resulting designs
will be truly individual and created by the customer – limited only by their imagination.
Customers will be able to specify the colour and finish of practically every surface of the Batur Convertible, to create a car as individual as they are. Beyond the exterior form of the car lies an almost endless array of choices for each car’s future owner to make.
Paint choice is infinite – starting with the full Mulliner colour palette and travelling beyond into fully bespoke paint and even handpainted graphics. The exterior brightware can be any mix of light and dark, satin or gloss or even titanium. Another subtle option available is a graduated contrast colour to the front grille, for a vibrant ombre effect.
The Batur Convertible offers further areas to personalise with the unique Airbridge, tonneau cover and roof materials being able to be specified to complement the rest of the cabin and exterior.
In the cabin, the highly exclusive option of 3D printed rose gold includes key driver touch points, such as the Bentley Drive Mode Selector, encircling the start/ stop button and used to change chassis modes. The centrepiece of an exquisite cabin, the dial complements the design of the front grille. Rose gold can also applied to Bentley’s iconic Organ Stop vent controls in the dashboard, as well as a rose gold insert marker on the steering wheel itself.
Bentley Mulliner has collaborated with expert goldsmiths based in the historic Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, England, where jewellery has been made for centuries, to craft the unique parts. This special collaboration highlights Bentley’s ability to combine new, advanced manufacturing technologies with more traditional materials and finishing techniques.
EXCLUSIVE AND POWERFUL
Each Batur Convertible will be handcrafted over the course of several months in Mulliner’s workshop at Bentley’s carbon neutral factory in Crewe, England. Production will be limited to just 16 pieces, each among the last ever Bentleys to be powered by the company’s iconic W12 engine, in its most potent iteration.
For the W12 powertrain that the Batur Convertible shares with its coupe counterpart, a revised intake system, upgraded turbochargers, new intercoolers and extensive recalibration enables 750 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque, to deliver exceptional performance for this pinnacle grand tourer. This development of the engine is in celebration of its achievements over 20 years, over which time it has been developed to produce nearly 40% more power while fuel economy has improved by 25%. The W12 is paired with Bentley’s eightspeed double-clutch transmission, and a sports exhaust to provide a soundtrack in keeping with the level of performance. The entire exhaust system is in titanium, while the finishers are 3D-printed in titanium.
BATUR CONVERTIBLE CAR #0
The engineering development car – Batur Convertible Car #0 – has had the same level of attention to detail as a customer’s own specification. The exterior paintwork is a bespoke colour – Vermillion Gloss over Vermillion Satin Duo tone – that provides a vibrant colour across the contemporary surfaces. The bodywork is underscored by front splitters, side skirts and rear diffuser in high gloss carbon fibre.
The front of the car features a grille of exceptional art – with the main matrix finished in Gloss Dark Titanium, accented with contrast chevrons in a horizontal ombré pattern that flows from Beluga in the centre and lighten to the vibrant sides in Vermillion Gloss. The “endless bonnet” line is finished in Gloss Dark Titanium paint, as are the 22” wheels – with the spokes in Gloss and Satin Black Titanium with Vermillion Gloss accents.

IT’S ALL AROUND YOU
Welcome to Tiaré, a luxurious yet traditional Indonesian Phinisi that will take you on a journey of discovery to some of the most stunning diving spots in the world.
The Tiaré began as the dream of 5 cousins, discussed over a summer dinner party.
This dream to create a luxurious dive boat built by the master builders of South Sulawesi came together with careful design, the sturdiest and most beautiful materials sourced from sustainable sources, high-tech components and safety equipment… and of course, time.
Experience diving in the rich waters of the Indonesian archipelago and meet people from the many different cultures on the diverse Indonesian islands that you would never have the opportunity to see while staying in more tourist-heavy areas.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ON BOARD TIARÉ
Tiaré offers a spectacular experience for divers as well as non-divers, with bright airy cabins, spacious bathrooms and a large front deck where you can socialize, eat under the stars or just relax in the Indonesian sunshine. There is also a separate diving deck with hot water showers to warm up after a night dive.
All indoor and outdoor living areas, decks, and cabins are made with antique teak salvaged from old Joglos, which not only gives the feel of “real Indonesia”, but has helped to reduce the use of Indonesia’s disappearing rainforests.
LIVING AREA
Designed to be a space where you
feel totally at home with an extra touch of luxury, comfortable couches and tables are the perfect place to socialize and catch up with your fellow divers. If you need to rest, have a nap, read a book or watch a film. A bar stocked with imported wines and a selection of other drinks is a welcome treat after a day of diving and a small cigar store is available for cigar connoisseurs. As well as comfortable couches, the airconditioned indoor lounge also has tables where dinner can be served as an alternative to the main deck depending on weather conditions and your preference. There are also PCs where you can edit photos or videos and also an indoor camera room, which has plenty of room to store your lenses, charges, lights and even your spare cameras.

Two triple cabins are spacious enough to accommodate two adults and one child or three adults, with under-bed storage to ensure ease of movement around the cabin. The other four cabins, two twin and two double, accommodate two adults each for a maximum capacity of 14 guests.
In addition to the indoor living area, the outdoor bow lounge is a space to enjoy and experience the freedom of being at sea. Watch the crew at work, birds flying overhead or count the millions of stars in the clear night sky from comfortable loungers and couches.
With 14 guests on board Tiaré is comfortable and spacious enough for both a social atmosphere and space to relax and enjoy down time in the luxurious cabins.
ZEELANDER Z72THE SHIPYARD’S FLAGSHIP
Zeelander Yachts unveiled the Zeelander Z72 yacht. She is the striking flagship of the Zeelander fleet.
The Z72 has an unmistakable profile that is pure Zeelander and harkens back to the classic yachts that ushered in the era of modern yachting. Yet this yacht carries with it the DNA of high-tech evolution to deliver an exceedingly comfortable, quiet onboard experience, while also including the performance the world has come to expect from Zeelander.
This Dutch shipyard is able to combine many benefits in the Z72 through its smart use of technology. Take the wheel at the helm console, an angled, ergonomic pod on centerline. The helm’s glass-bridge
electronic-navigation displays share complete information about all ship’s systems. There are three extremely large uninterrupted panoramic windows for a perfect 360-degree view. The glass is curved in two ways, making it very difficult to manufacture.
“We really pushed the boundaries for noise and vibration reduction of the Z72. At full speed her measured sounds level are an astounding 72 decibels, but the experience is even quieter. All you hear is the water of the wake and people in conversation,” said Sietse Koopmans, Chairman at Zeelander Yachts.
Triple 1,000-horsepower propulsion for a top speed of 40 knots
The optional triple 1,000-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS1350 propulsion system delivers
full control of the yacht through helm joystick control, though a wheel and throttle and shift levers are also included.
“From the very beginning when the first Volvo Penta IPS system came on the market, Zeelander was the first to incorporate the systems into our drawings,” said Koopmans. “Just like we were the first to use the 1350’s as twin set up in our Z55, now again Zeelander is the first, or at least a very early adopter, of using the most powerful Volvo Penta IPS engine’s in triple formation.”
The optional triple-pod propulsion package delivers a top speed of 40+ knots, and also affords the pinpoint close-quarters maneuvering for which the Volvo Penta IPS system is well known. She handles easily and comfortably. “We found that many of our owners want to operate
the Z72 by themselves. It’s the joy of yachting,” added Sietse. “We made that as easy as possible, by installing systems like the intuitive Volvo Penta IPS, Humphree trim tabs, and easy to use controls of the entire ship.”
The Volvo Penta IPS system operates low sound levels. The system transmits power through the IPS pod projecting from the underside of the hull, so the point with which the force of the props meets the hull is spread over a larger area than on a conventional, shaft-driven boat. And since the engines need not bear the brunt of the propulsive force vector of the props, they can use softer engine mounts that absorb more of the vibration from the powerful diesels, and the exhaust through the pods is well under the stern of the hull.
High technology and smart design
This quiet operation is very much part of Zeelander Yachts’ design philosophy. Their engineering team has spent an exceptional amount of time and resources to make her whisper quiet, ensuring owners and guests will enjoy their holidays in supreme silence.
“The Z72 is truly a Zeelander Yacht. It is extremely silent,” said Koopmans. “She is a prime example of tranquility, with unsurpassed levels of soundproofing and vibration control.”
The vacuum-infused GRP hull uses vinylester resin and its single monocoque construction to eliminate the squeaks and creaks of other lesser builds. An available gyro-stabilization system quietly adds more comfort by eliminating the roll from the hull.
The large gatherings can be facilitated through many seating areas and ample space and headroom as the Z72 overheads are 2.2 meters high in most of the areas on board. There are also six different social areas and guests are able to move around freely. A galley is positioned to serve the dining table and the aft deck with
equal ease. Conversation areas are designed to welcome large groups of guests, yet there are enough of them that can afford spaces for more intimate moments as well. The curving stern unfolds to reveal a unique 112 square foot (10.4 square meter) beach-club swim deck, connecting her guests with the sea in ways that many larger
yachts cannot accommodate. The tender garage is large enough to fit a Williams 345 jet or larger. It fits 4 seabobs and could even be paired with a small personal watercraft.
With a three-stateroom layout over the 19.7-foot (6-meter) beam, the accommodations are finished to a superyacht level of comfort
and understated style, reminiscent of the classic yachts that initially attracted so many to the sport. The Zeelander Z72 will surely garner even more attention as more see the model taking to sea or plying the coastline, and experience her high-tech comforts and quiet operation.
“That’s why our clients call every Zeelander Yacht a masterpiece. A Rolls Royce of the seas,” Koopmans sums up.

Azimut|Benetti Group, the world’s leading producer of yachts over 24 metres, won two coveted first places at the Yacht Style Awards 2024 in the ‘Motor Yacht 18-21m’ and ‘Superyacht 40-60m’ categories.
The two wins are an important endorsement for Azimut|Benetti Group, which continues to grow in the Asia Pacific market, reporting rising sales that demonstrate how popular the products are with customers in this area. In Azimut’s case, turnover has increased 40% in the last four years, with the Grande Series driving sales and a strong Dealer network spread across the region ensuring premium customer service. At Benetti, the Shipyard continues to see a strong demand for the full range of yachts in the APAC region and is delighted to see that almost all of the models are sold and delivered in the region recently - including Oasis 34M, Oasis 40M, B.Yond 37M, Motopanfilo 37M and B.NOW 50 Oasis Deck®. The Magellano 60 was chosen for the first voyages powered by HVOlution, the biofuel produced by Eni Live (Eni Sustainable Mobility) with 100% renewable raw materials* which, combined with the high efficiency Dual Mode hull, has enabled a well-to-wake CO2 emissions reduction exceeding 80% compared to a similarly sized vessel powered by fossil fuel oil. Furthermore, Azimut has introduced a new home automation system that brings artificial intelligence aboard the Magellano 60 for smart management of the yacht, developed by the Shipyard in partnership with Google Cloud and Reply; through a proprietary
app, it is possible to interact with the yacht via commands that allow you to control, even remotely, various onboard functions.
Benetti B.NOW 50M
This model in Benetti’s B.Now line, the winner in the ‘Superyacht 40-60m’ category, is inspired by a design concept developed by the Shipyard in collaboration with architects RWD, epitomising Italian excellence in technological innovation and synergy with the British partners. This new project portrays the picturesque and suburban lifestyle of the region, going beyond expectations to showcase how luxury and nature can become one. The villa is well-appointed
with a stunning landscape garden, and it matches Calabasas’ adobe architecture highlights, seamlessly blending with the mesmerizing mountain scenery. In this suburban paradise, the modern design and living brand displays some of its most emblematic pieces, complementing them with numerous high-end designs from other luxury brands.
AN ENTRYWAY WITH EXCLUSIVE DECOR STATEMENTS
The entryway presents unique features like arched doors and a stucco staircase that blend perfectly with the neutral glamour scheme. The Magna chandelier suspends over the ceiling, creating a poetic statement, and the Talie round sofa in Monet Pearl fabric introduces a mid-century feel with their curved silhouette.
NATURAL LUXURY TRIUMPHS THE DINING ROOM
From wooden flooring to biophilic design, the ample dining explores natural luxury to its finest. The majestic high ceilings give room for creativity, and LUXXU puts the spotlight on the sublime Liberty Slim Snooker suspension. The Talie dining chairs and the Algerone Rectangular dining table make for a premium combination. Then, the Liberty Torch wall lamps and the Vertigo mirror set shine through their meticulous details. The Lapiaz sideboard and the Pixel bar cabinet by Boca do Lobo conclude the aesthetic, promoting contemporary design with an avant-garde feel.
SHOWCASING A DETAILED LIVING ROOM
The modern interior architecture conveys a sleek, sculptural, and artistic aura, leaving room for versatile decor. This room highlights a perfect mix of modern and contemporary details with exclusive pieces like the Senzu sofa and the Algerone II bar chairs by LUXXU or the Imperfectio armchairs and the Navarra center table by Boca do Lobo. In addition, the tray ceiling holds the magnificent Liberty Slim suspension that provides a soothing lighting effect through crystal glass bars.
ENTERTAINMENT REDEFINED
The entertainment room features various leisure spots. Throughout the room, one can see numerous custom-made pieces, including the Algerone Snooker and Poker tables. Overhead lighting is a must in these types of divisions, and here, the Waterfall suspensions become the centerpieces with their gold-plated brass details and delicate crystal glass tubes that cast a soothing glow. In the lounge, comfort is also of the essence with designs like the Algerone angular sofa or the Galea armchair.
A ROYAL MASTER SUITE
The master suite accentuates hotel-like amenities with a touch of nature, from undulating wooden walls to a stucco frame. LUXXU’s Charla collection decorates the sleeping area with the Charla XL bed stealing the show with its massive beige upholstered headboard, matching the sleekness of the Waterfall small pendants. In the vanity corner, one can spot the iconic lines of the Charla dressing table with a custom twist and the Algerone stool.
In the ultra-modern bathroom, the Darian bathtub and cabinet by Maison Valentina add an imperial flair with marble, brass, and leather accents. The Shield mirror introduces an architectural character, and the Waterfall II big wall lamp by LUXXU builds on the drama and interest.
The generous walk-in closet with a mirrored ceiling features elegant solutions like the modular Waltz closet in cream tones. Furthermore, the Otto sofa and XL armchairs bring form and aesthetics together. These upholstery pieces styled in mid-century present an organic shape made of velvet and leather. Lastly, the Algerone center table adds timelessness and refined sophistication.
PLAYFUL ACCENTS THROUGHOUT THE KID’S BEDROOM
For the child’s bedroom, LUXXU opted to showcase a custommade Charla XL twin bed with whimsical details, adding a mint headboard and playful accents to the bottom of the beds. At the center, the Needle table lamp adds a layer of luxury, complemented by the suitcase-shaped Fantasy Air nightstand by CIRCU. The latter also lent several fun objects from its collection, including the Bubble Gum bench and gym, the Elephant stool, the Bunny floor mirror in green tones, and the Cloud suspension lamps. Finally, LUXXU added a custom-made Talie sofa with a more high-spirited structure.
RELAXING IN A WARM OUTDOOR SPACE

SRK HOUSE: DESIGN THAT FOSTERS CONNECTION WITHIN A FAMILY OASIS
The space is characterised by an uber luxurious living area with few handpicked statement art pieces.
One of the defining features of this design is its intelligent use of patterns and textures. From intricate grooves to playful polka dots and elegant fluted patterns,
Sprawling around 2300 sq ft of area, the SRK home harmonises different elements to create a cohesive and luxurious living space for a family of five.
every corner of the home tells a unique story through its design elements. Moreover, the design idea revolves around the skillful use of vibrant colour pops into the predominantly earthy palette, injecting energy and vitality into each room.
The client’s vision for this house was clear: a dynamic space where interaction thrives. The living, dining, and bar areas were seamlessly integrated into an open plan, promoting connectivity and openness. Each corner of the home was designed to encourage shared experiences, ensuring that every moment spent together is memorable and meaningful.
The focal point of the residence is undoubtedly the spacious living area, which serves as the heart of the home. As one enters the house, herringbone patterned flooring welcomes the user into a visually open and grand living room. Neutral tones like grey, brown, beige, black and white were used to form a bold, tasteful and elegant space. The foyer and kitchen at entrance are separated from the living and dining area with a contrasting shift in flooring from wood to Satvario marble.
The distinction of this space is further highlighted by a carefully curated statement sculpture that
commands attention, adding a touch of opulence. Initially met with skepticism, the clients’ trust in the vision paid off splendidly. The clean straight grooves on the wall behind the sculpture form a backdrop to balance the sculpture’s contrasting curves. The lush and immaculate carpet from Mirzapur rugs, paired with carefully selected furniture pieces sourced from international markets, completely elevates the space.
The dining area is surrounded by an exquisite dining table crafted from precious marble. Adjacent to it stands a stylish bar unit fashioned from stainless steel and fluted glass, adding a contemporary flair to the space. The sleek linear lines of the bar unit give the length and width scale to an otherwise narrow corner. Moreover, the addition of vibrant accessories enhances the visual appeal of the structure, completing the ensemble with ornate flair.
Journeying through the residence, the rooms are routed through a passage adorned with a monochromatic collage of family photographs, crafting an intimate and personalised atmosphere affectionately termed as “A Lane of Memory”. At the end of the passage, a fluted door opens into the master bedroom, a sanctuary of opulence and refinement.
Here, Grandeur is expressed by an imported bed adorned in taupe and tangerine hues, set against a backdrop of sumptuous silk wallpaper. While the space exudes richness through furniture pieces, the room design approach remains rooted in minimalist sensibilities. A cozy lounge corner in the master bedroom is a sure-shot spot to sink in at the day’s end, offering solace and serenity.
The design efforts for daughters’ room resonate with the occupant, as every detail is imbued with a sense of timeless beauty and charm. Fluted white walls with delicately ornamented eaves on the ceiling, the blush-toned upholstery on the headboard, complemented by the polka-dotted wallpaper from Nilaya, set the stage for a fairy tale-inspired retreat. A customised vertical light piece adds a touch of
magic, while the carefully curated furnishings and framed dresser opposite the bed contribute to a dreamlike corner within the room.
In crafting a haven for their son, an inspirational quote adorns the wall above his bed, serving as a daily reminder of his boundless potential. Geometric shapes in cool, English blues, beige, grey,
brown, and white adorn the space, lending it with a contemporary touch. Thoughtfully designed storage solutions not only enhance the room’s functionality but also contribute to its appearance.
Throughout the residence, an elegant interplay of elements, colours, and materials culminates in a sophisticated and distinct
abode. The use of similar neutrals throughout the entirety of the project serves to unify the space, resulting in a cohesive and open design that embodies the essence of the designer’s vision.

AS INDIVIDUAL AS EACH OWNER
London-based RJP Design is not yet three years old. However, the company has already been commissioned to design nine branded residences at The Old War Office (OWO), home to Raffles London, while, in Belgravia, the team has just completed a Peninsula London residence. RJP is also working on several private houses in the Home Counties and now has its sights set on Paris.
There can be little doubt that luxury is in robust health. Nevertheless, RJP’s portfolio is remarkable. Founder, Rickesh Patel, puts the practice’s success down to the very personal service that the firm offers each client.
“We are a boutique practice, we all design, we work very hard and between us we have a mix of skillsets,” he says. “Frankly I believe that our HNWI and developer clients should be able to take creative excellence as a given, but we go further than this because we have the technical expertise to solve problems and manage projects in a timely manner. We can switch seamlessly from the creative
to the practical and deal with all the issues that arise so that our client doesn’t have to.”
The firm’s arrival on the hotel branded residential scene is timely. This is a rapidly growing real estate asset class, not only in London but in cities and resort locations around the world, which is attractive to UHNWIs for the prestige, services, facilities and quality of design and fit-out associated with a luxury hotel. The challenge for designers such as RJP is that the owner probably spends his or her life travelling the world on business and leisure and needs an outstanding design solution delivered not only quickly but painlessly.
It was RJP’s reputation for achieving just this for several owners of the new OWO Residences that caught the attention of the developer, and the firm was then awarded the design of a duplex show apartment. For once, there was no client, and the practice was free to create an apartment to its own vision. The result is a residence that sits comfortably within the famous Grade ll* baroque-style building. Its interiors are harmonious and balanced, classic yet contemporary, and have a natural, earthy colour palette that allows potential purchasers to easily envisage the spaces designed to their own tastes.
“We decided that the apartment should be approached as a home for the family when they visited London and we therefore created it to feel cosy and relatively informal,” explains Rickesh. “However, since the purpose of the design was to help market the apartment, we deliberately avoided an aesthetic that was too imposing. Our task was to inform and excite visitors about the potential this residence could hold for them.”
Rickesh believes that working successfully from the outset with private clients is as much about listening to the pauses as the words. The client’s personality and purpose must be understood before the first mood board is curated.
“Clients have a range of motivations, from creating a family legacy that will pass down the generations to creating a showcase for their fine collections of art or wine or simply to add value to the property and sell. Our job is to help them achieve their ambition by understanding the space.”
From there, RJP can manage the entire planning process, produce renders, sketches and technical drawings in-house, custom design bespoke pieces, introduce specialist trades, commission artwork and oversee the FF&E procurement.
The process of walking alongside the client every step of the way is key to RJP and Rickesh gives full credit to his Creative Director, Jana Pflimpflova, who is both a fully qualified architect and a person dedicated to design detail, in helping him achieve this. Before establishing RJP, both Rickesh and Jana worked for many years with leading architecture and design firms designing luxury hotels, members clubs and private offices as well as premium residential projects for developers and owners. They are well seasoned and understand the expectations of their clients, which may explain the number of clients who have returned with their next project. “It’s not just the ultimate accolade but it gives us the chance to develop a communications shorthand. Not that this means two projects for one client are ever the same. Each project must have its own purpose, context and soul.”
Away from branded residences, RJP is currently working on a large house in North London located in a conservation area and with listed heritage features gracing its interiors and is also in discussion with a UHNW family, working through options for the redevelopment of their UK home. Summing up RJP’s philosophy, Rickesh states: “It is an honour to be brought into people’s lives and entrusted with distilling their culture and personality into a completely individual home.”

A JOYFUL EXPRESSION OF THE ART DECO SPIRIT OF REVERSO THE
REVERSO ONE ‘PRECIOUS FLOWERS’ SERIES IS ENRICHED WITH THREE EXQUISITE NEW TIMEPIECES
Immediately recognisable by its swivelling, rectangular case, the Reverso is iconic in watchmaking – able to be worn with either of its two sides facing outwards.
On the monoface models, the blank pink gold 750/1000 (18 carats) case-back naturally offers itself as a canvas for artistic expression, inviting the artisans of JaegerLeCoultre’s Métiers Rares™ atelier to exhibit their exceptional skills in the decorative crafts and jewellery techniques.
In 2021, the Maison introduced the sparkling Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ series, uniting the codes of fine watchmaking, artistic crafts and High Jewellery. For 2024, La Grande Maison enriches the collection with three new models in pink gold, that bring fresh colour, sophistication and glamour to the collection. Offered in a limited edition of 10 pieces each, these exquisite timepieces unite the artistic crafts of enamelling, goldleaf paillonnage and gem-setting.
Art Deco inspiration expressed through vivid colour
Inspired by the design of the Reverso, which was created in 1931 at the height of the Art Deco period, the three new pieces celebrate the exuberant spirit of Tropical Art Deco. Enjoying its heyday during the 1930s, it is characterised by the sleek lines of Streamline Modern architecture set against a backdrop of lush vegetation and vividly coloured flowers. Abundant examples of the original style still survive in cities from Singapore to Cuba to Mumbai and, most famously, Miami.
A complex dance of artistry and craft to create objects of rare beauty
The restrained elegance of the Reverso One dial design is a perfect foil for the rich and colourful decoration of the cases: on a
background of white mother-ofpearl, gold brackets define the four corners of the dial, creating a frame within which the numerals, in the signature Reverso One font, are set. Grain-set diamonds decorate the gadroons and lugs and the winding crown is adorned with a reverse-set diamond.
The new designs give full rein to the artistry and diverse skills of the Métiers Rares™ atelier, with several artisans collaborating in a carefully orchestrated process over the course of many weeks and months. The floral designs wrap seamlessly around the case-sides, from the back to the bezel, involving curves and angles that add a high degree of complexity to the artisans’ work.
Champlevé (which literally means ‘raised field’) is one of the oldest
decorative enamelling techniques. To begin with, sections of the flat metal surface of the case are hollowed out to leave an outline of the desired motif. The enameller then begins painting the details and tonal nuances of the design into the remaining wells and troughs with enamel, one layer at a time – in varying combinations of transparent and opaque enamels to achieve the desired effect. Research into the colours – a long process of trial and error because of the way that enamel pigments react at high temperatures – took more than 50 hours, before the work could even begin.
These new ‘Precious Flowers’ designs further elevate the craft of enamelling by combining it with paillonnage. Tiny pieces of 24-carat gold leaf are cut to the exact shape and size of the pattern to be filled in. After a clear layer of fondant enamel has been completed, the enameller takes these tiny fragments and fixes them into place, modelling them to fit the desired space perfectly. Only then can the process of working with the coloured enamel begin.
The cases require 10 or more firings, each one building the intensity and depth of colour. Grand Feu enamelling requires many years of experience as well as great technical skill because the outcome is unpredictable: firing at temperatures up to 800º Centigrade changes the chemistry of some pigments and only with many years of experience can an enameller predict whether the final colours will be as desired. While every firing increases the beauty of the piece it also increases the risk: the enamel may bubble or crack; it may burn and shrink; or the metal base may warp.
On designs with diamond-set backgrounds, the gem-setting can begin only after the enamel work is completed, adding to the delicacy and complexity of the task. Indeed, combining enamelling and gemsetting is a delicate dance between the artisans: while firing hardens the gold, the gem-setter requires soft metal, so the challenge is to find the ideal balance.
At any point during enamelling or gem-setting, the slightest mistake could destroy countless hours of work. These are process that cannot be rushed and that is what makes these decorative crafts so intriguing, going a long way to explaining why they are so highly prized.
THREE NEW MODELS CELEBRATING THE BEAUTY OF TROPICAL FLOWERS
Birds of Paradise – which symbolises freedom and joy in the language of flowers – captures the brilliant colouring and strongly geometric shape of the eponymous flower in a new twist on traditional Grand Feu champlevé enamelling. Once the first step is completed –hollowing the outline of the design from the flat gold surface of the case-back – tiny pieces of 24-carat gold leaf are cut to exact shape and size of certain sections of the flower then painstakingly fixed into place. This gold leaf underlay lends texture and exceptional brilliance to the orange and golden tones. Then the enameller begins the delicate process of applying the 19 different colours of enamel pigment, painting it to create nuances of tone and an impression of volume.
As many as nine layers of enamel are applied, requiring 60 hours of work. The rich colours of the flowers and leaves are complemented by the sparkle of snow-set diamonds that form the background. A challenging technique, snow-setting uses stones of nine different sizes and the setter
must, in effect, work “freehand”, choosing and placing the stones so that not even a millimetre of the metal surface remains – the objective being to create a seamless expanse of sparkle. The Birds of Paradise timepiece is set with approximately 331 diamonds for a total of 1.64 carats – 65 hours of gem-setting work – and is fastened to the wrist with a strap in shiny green alligator leather, custom-dyed to perfectly match the green leaves. Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ Birds of Paradise represents a total of 125 hours of Métiers RaresTM work.
Hibiscus Enamel showcases the quintessential tropical flower – which symbolises beauty and wisdom – reinterpreting it in colours reminiscent of a sun-kissed lagoon. For the first time on a Métiers Rares™ Reverso One, the entire background is Grand Feu enamel, wrapping around the convex case-sides to frame the dial. The delicately drawn flowers and foliage are Grand Feu champlevé enamel – their nuanced details requiring 12 colours of enamel, applied in nine layers. Harnessing the meticulous craft of paillonnage, the golden stamens are highlighted with tiny pieces of 24-carat gold leaf set beneath the enamel. The beautiful tones of blue and green enamel are enhanced by the sparkle of diamond-set gadroons and lugs – a total of approximately 157
diamonds for 1.25 carats. Together, the 50 hours of enamelling and 22 hours of gem-setting represent a total of 72 hours of decorative craft work. The shiny blue alligator leather strap was custom-dyed to perfectly complement the tones of the flowers.
Hibiscus Diamonds unites the crafts of enamelling, paillonnage and diamond-setting in a sparkling rendition of the exotic hibiscus flower. The subject of 12 trials of colour research to achieve the desired shades and subtle graduation, the blue flowers were created in Grand Feu champlevé enamel, requiring 30 hours of work. The stamens of the flowers are highlighted with 24-carat gold leaf set beneath the enamel and, as on the Birds of Paradise watch, a background of snow-set diamonds creates a brilliant contrast with the richly coloured flowers and leaves. Together with the grain-set diamonds on the gadroons and lugs – a total of approximately 523 diamonds for 2.02 carats – the gem-setting represents 120 hours of work. The Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ Hibiscus Diamonds requires 150 hours of Métiers RaresTM craftsmanship in total.
These pieces, created by the hands of exceptionally talented artisans, are indeed precious jewels and, naturally, they merit fine mechanisms. As testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mastery of technical watchmaking, the new Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ timepieces are fitted with the handwound Calibre 846.
To be made in an edition of just 10 pieces of each design, every one of these miniature works of art is subtly different – their fine detailing and nuanced colour palettes the product of each artisan’s particular gestures, expressing their passion and personality, as well as their remarkable skill.
IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN OPENS ITS FIRST NORDIC BOUTIQUE IN THE HEART OF COPENHAGEN
IWC Schaffhausen announces the opening of its inaugural Nordic boutique in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Centrally located in one of the most vibrant Nordic cities, IWC now brings its engineering and fine watchmaking to the city like never before. Featuring an Engineering Wall, a lounge and a bar, the space welcomes guests to explore the IWC collections, engineering, and history with comfort and ease.
IWC Schaffhausen opens its first boutique in Denmark, nestled in the heart of Copenhagen. The new boutique is located on Ny Østergade, a bustling side street to Copenhagen’s main shopping street, Strøget, where design and gastronomy harmoniously meet.
Copenhagen serves as the perfect backdrop for our first boutique in Denmark. With its rich history, picturesque architecture and waterfront, and vibrant cultural scene, the city embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, mirroring the essence of IWC Schaffhausen
Franziska Gsell, CMO of IWC Schaffhausen
IWC Schaffhausen feels right at home in the waterfront capital where clean lines, functionality, and cultural heritage reign supreme. Since 1868, it has been located on the banks of the River Rhine in Schaffhausen, where it uses the hydropower from the river to power its Manufakturzentrum. Here, craftswomen and -men who have perfected their artisan skills work hand-in-hand with stateof-the-art machines. Engineering
beyond time, they continuously push the boundaries of innovation while remaining steadfast in their commitment to craftsmanship, performance and longevity, always with functionality in mind.
Spanning 110 square meters, the boutique invites guests to explore and learn more about the different core IWC collections. From the Pilot’s Watch first introduced for civil aviation purposes and the Portugieser built at the request of two Portuguese merchants to the Portofino embodying the
laid-back Mediterranean style and the Ingenieur with its rugged sportiness and technical appeal, each collection tells its own story of ingenuity, passion and purpose.
The boutique features an IWC staple, namely the so-called Engineering Wall showcasing its engineering heritage. Among other things, it displays the inner workings of IWC-manufactured movements, complications, and its expertise in developing advanced materials, such as Ceratanium® and coloured ceramics.
With its elevated contemporary design, the boutique taps into its surroundings for inspiration while staying true to the distinctive IWC aesthetic. It is furnished with classic Danish design from Handvärk, Gubi and Icons of Denmark with minimalistic expressions focused on quality underscoring the timelessness of IWC. The muted colour scheme reminiscent of the Colours of TOP GUN adds warmth to the space, while the various materials from wooden panels, soft rugs and exposed ceilings give it depth. Completing the visitor experience, there is a cosy lounge with a fireplace and a bar where visitors can relax and enjoy a variety of beverages and snacks.
To mark the opening of the boutique, IWC Schaffhausen presents a special artwork by the artist M’Brick. The piece illustrates the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Edition “Lake Tahoe” (Ref. IW389105). It is made out of more than 35.0000 bricks, making it the largest piece ever made by the artist. Using a seemingly random variety of bricks in different shapes and sizes, it has a three dimensional and captivating complexity to it. From afar, the bricks form the instantly recognisable Pilot’s Watch, however, the closer one gets to it, the vaguer the subject becomes and takes on a whole new life of its own.
“THE DUALISM OF MILAN”
Pomellato embarks on a new creative journey, drawing inspiration from the very city that sparked its inception in 1967.
The jeweler unveils its fifth high jewelry collection, a tribute to the duality and indomitable spirit of Milan. This collection, featuring 51 exclusive pieces, is a testament to Pomellato’s deep-rooted connection to its homeland.
MILAN’S DUAL SOUL CAPTURED IN JEWELS
Vincenzo Castaldo, Pomellato’s Creative Director, finds endless fascination in Milan’s harmonious paradox - the coexistence of an austere, urban essence with an abundantly creative soul. It is this contrast that fuels this high jewelry collection called ‘The Dualism of Milan’.
“First and foremost, I wanted to convey the spirit of the city, a mix of rationalist architecture, skyscrapers with their sinuous lines, the night-time atmosphere of the shopping arcades,” Vincenzo Castaldo explains. “Then I wanted to illustrate this ability that Milan has always had to focus on color in every creation, such as the work of Gio Ponti or the Memphis Group.”
The collection is divided into two complementary themes, each interpreting Milan through the unique lens of Pomellato. “These two spirits of Milan resonate with the inner identity of Pomellato,” Vincenzo Castaldo goes on to say. “It rests on what is tangible — perfect knowledge of artisan jewellers, Pomellato’s complete mastery of all the steps involved in creating a piece of high jewelry — and what is intangible in the creation, where
the color of a stone or the shape of a jewel evokes an emotion.”
Once again, Pomellato breaks the rules of high jewelry, presenting modern, vibrant designs for the woman of today. Iconic Milanese style codes shine through 19 parures, crafted with precious gems. Fluid shapes, cabochon cuts and graphic prong settings showcase each stone’s natural beauty, delivering wearable yet timeless works of art. This collection features two chapters: “Milan’s Monochromatic Treasures” and “Milanese Color Prism”.
MILAN’S MONOCHROMATIC TREASURES
The quietest side of Milan is characterised by an aesthetic that relies on refined design, discreet details and a subtle use of color – almost monochromatic. An example of this very Milanese aesthetic is the Planetario designed by Portaluppi in which strict lines embrace some classical details enlightened by stars sculpted in tone on tone. With this very spirit Castaldo created 23 high jewelry pieces that encode subtle details and an unexpected color palette suspended between day and night.
MILANESE COLOR PRISM
The most flamboyant side of Milan is often expressed with the use of unprecedented color combinations, just like in the creations of Gio Ponti. Here, gems take center stage in an interplay of hue and light. Fuchsia spinels, electric blue tanzanites, lush green tourmalines. In this second part of the collection, Pomellato selects the most vivid and rare gems of nature to create pieces that radiate pure chromatic joy. Irregular, organic cuts and unexpected combinations reflect the artful irreverence of Milanese design.
With this collection, Pomellato captures the true spirit of Milan, immortalizing the city’s beauty and dynamism in the most precious materials. It is a demonstration of the unbreakable bond between Pomellato and Milan. “In combining these two apparently opposite faces of Milan — one concrete, the other intangible, each with its own character — this high jewelry collection gives us a true, in-depth, multidimensional view of the city,” Vincenzo Castaldo, Creative Director of Pomellato, says in conclusion.
MILAN’S MONOCHROMATIC TREASURES
MOONSTONES Inspired by the mist that often envelops Milan, this collection showcases the beauty of moonstones illuminated by melee diamonds. Pomellato’s unique spirit shines through in the 11 cabochons. A rose gold choker featuring 211.50 carats of moonstones interspersed with links adorned with white diamond pavé. Pomellato’s signature prongs embrace each stone, creating a bold yet refined effect. Complementing the choker are two rings, each starring a moonstone cabochon - one at 41.91 carats and the other at 32.79 carats held by diamond prongs in rose gold. Rounding out the collection are two pairs of earrings showcasing oval moonstones crowned by diamond paved golden discs.
PLANETARIO An ode to celestial spheres, this collection captures the feeling of stargazing under Milanese skies, paying tribute to the iconic Planetario designed by Portaluppi. A constellation of 23 rare Tahitian pearls in stormy shades orbits a rose gold chain, their inky luminescence accentuated by the sparkle of diamonds, blue sapphires and grey spinels, culminating in a detachable pendant of gems - a conjunction of the celestial and the earthly. A ring
and a pair of earrings with Tahitian pearls, diamond pavé orbs, and precious stones align like planets pulled into each other’s orbit, completing the collection.
PLANETARIO NOTTURNO
Emblematic of Pomellato’s artistry, this choker blends two of its most specialised goldsmithing techniques: gourmette chain links and irregular diamond pavé, a setting that appears almost organic. The magic of this two-part piece lies in the contrast between the fluidity of the rose gold links, which feel like silk on the skin, and the bold structure of a rose gold disc encrusted with a swirl of diamonds and storm-grey spinels. Amidst this constellation, eight randomly
placed anthracite spinels evoke the sky at dusk, recalling the primordial chaos of the universe. The earrings dance with twilight tones, as hues of blue and grey spinels alternate with the sparkle of brilliant diamond pavé, crowned by a halo of grey sapphires.
CIELO STELLATO This collection pays homage to the star mosaics that adorn Milan’s planetarium. At the heart of a refined rose gold chain, a cluster of grey sapphires and spinels forms a celestial focal point, framed by an organic link of white diamonds. The contrast of precise geometry and free form shapes this necklace with captivating dynamism. A coordinated brooch unites rose gold, diamonds and grey sapphires and spinels in an astral motif.
ARENGARIO Paying tribute to the iconic Palazzo dell’Arengario in Piazza del Duomo, Pomellato has crafted a necklace that captures the essence of Milan’s rationalist architecture. This piece interweaves rose gold elements meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans: a sleek rose gold chain adorned with a pavé of white diamonds forms the foundation, while at its heart, intricate rose gold lattices shimmer with a blend of brown and white diamonds, their facets catching the light like the sun on the Arengario’s historic façade.
GALLERIA At night, Milan’s majestic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with its soaring glass and iron architecture creates an atmosphere both mysterious and captivating - an enigmatic radiance that has inspired Pomellato to reimagine one of its most emblematic designs: the Princess necklace, now a rose gold chain adorned with pavé diamonds and velvety grey spinels, with a heart of grey spinel gems in an octagonal arrangement that mirrors the Galleria’s famed glass dome, accompanied by a matching ring alive with faceted grey spinels that dance and catch the light, layered over diamond pavé, and a pair of earrings to complete the parure.
IL SALOTTO DI MILANO With monochrome allure, this emblematic necklace distills the very essence of Pomellato’s Milanese style. In an unexpected alchemy of textures, a rose gold chain unites with a gourmette dripping in a pavé of grey sapphires. At the center, they intertwine through a gold circle, itself alight with grey sapphires. A grey to green tourmaline of 20.72 carats drops like a pendant, catching the light.
ASIMMETRICO Sensual and sculptural, this collection embraces the body with the sinuous lines of articulated rose gold plates, as supple as fabric on the skin. Inspired by the fluid contours of César Pelli’s iconic Milanese architecture, the choker undulates gracefully with every movement, a testament to Pomellato’s mastery of precious metals. A second variant consisting entirely of pavés encircles the neck with the fire of 2,924 diamonds. Exquisitely asymmetric, the necklaces are echoed by matching cuffs and earrings which amplify its bold yet feminine allure.
MILANESE COLOR PRISM
SPINELLI DI FUOCO In a display of fiery hues, Pomellato has crafted a plastron necklace that captures the Maison’s passion for colored gemstones. This piece showcases a rare combination of red, pink, purple, violet, grey, orange, amber and scarlet spinels, meticulously arranged in an embrace around a novel rose gold chain adorned with a line of white diamonds. The 238 spinel cabochons, totaling 365
carats of stones, are set in unique settings designed specifically for each gem, both closed and prong setting, allowing for an unparalleled fluidity. Complementing this piece are two pairs of earrings, featuring an array of multicolor spinels and white diamonds.
BAROCCO This necklace is a celebration of color, embracing a vibrant kaleidoscope of hues, from turquoise and fuchsia pink to grass green. At the heart of this creation lies a Paraiba tourmaline, weighing nearly 34 carats, its beauty enhanced by the necklace’s freeform design. The piece showcases Pomellato’s signature gemstone baroque cut, each one seemingly shaped by the elements themselves. Aquamarines, rubellites, tsavorites,
tanzanites, mandarin garnets, green tourmalines and blue zircons adorn the front row of the rose gold chain, interspersed with rose gold links emblazoned with diamond pavé. The juxtaposition of the necklace’s untamed energy and the sophisticated artistry of its settings creates a character that is quintessentially Pomellato.
GEMME SUPERLATIVE A mosaic of colors dances across this necklace, revealing the jeweler’s unrivaled creativity and mastery. Playing the ‘stone within a stone’ card, a vibrant palette of oval gemstones - tanzanite, orange garnet, aquamarine, red and pink spinels, peridot, yellow tourmalines, indigolite, rubellites and morganite - are artfully arranged in a unique
composition, each one nestled within its own frame of pavé. Rubies, sapphires, garnets, spinels, tanzanites, zircons, rubellites and Paraiba tourmalines surround the central stones, creating toneon-tone halos that amplify the luminous beauty of each gem. This display of color is complemented by two diamond pieces: a threeheaded ring set with a cameo made of brown and white diamonds and a matching pair of earrings.
IL GRANDE BLU Inspired by Gio Ponti’s words, “I designed a blue necklace, and blue was the inspiration and driver for creating and finding a good balance”, this tanzanite set embodies Pomellato’s vision of color and form. Five purple-blue baroque cut tanzanites, embraced by invisible prongs, dance along the chain choker, their hue enhanced by a pavé of blue and violet sapphires that adorn the entire piece. This free-form silhouette, showcasing the natural gems is echoed in a ring featuring a 26.86 carat tanzanite surrounded by a pavé of diamonds, blue sapphires, and violet sapphires. Completing the set, a pair of chainlink earrings.
INDIGOLITE BLUE The rare beauty of indigolite, a gem that shimmers with an unparalleled hue between blue and electric green. Pomellato has harnessed the majestic allure of this uncommon stone, setting it
at the heart of an elegant parure. The gourmette necklace, crafted in rose gold, features a 9.98 carat rectangular-cut indigolite center stone, its brilliance emphasized by a pavé of 203 indigolites and nearly 2,000 diamonds. Complementing this piece is a ring adorned with a 13.67 carat cushion-cut indigolite, embraced by a diamond collar. Completing the set, a pair of earrings showcases two more indigolites, each over 3 carats, set in rose gold and diamonds.
GREEN TOURMALINES
A trio of green tourmalines, totaling 52.46 carats, in a gourmette choker. The angelic green hue of these stones is elevated to new heights by the choker’s pavé of 1,786 white diamonds, which envelop the piece. The tourmalines’ irregular cuts and the precision of the diamond-set links create a striking contrast. Extending this theme, a rose gold gourmette ring adorned with a pavé of diamonds and a 10.77 carat green tourmaline. Completing the set are chain-link earrings, resplendent with white diamond pavés and four green tourmalines that catch the light.
PINK RUBELLITES
Pomellato’s iconic Princess necklace, a true cult favorite among the Maison’s high jewelry collections, takes center stage with a purple-red rubellite. Renowned for its mastery of chainmaking, Pomellato showcases its expertise by intertwining different chain styles. A 17.07 carat rubellite, encircled by a pavé of 484 red spinels, which is connected to the rose gold necklace by two diamondpavé links. Complementing this piece is a rose gold ring featuring a 32.36 carat pyrope-spessartine garnet embraced by a pavé of blue and violet sapphires. Rounding out the set, rose gold chain-link earrings adorned with a diamond pavé and two rubellites.
PRECIOUS PAVÉ
Pomellato’s pavé technique is showcased in this collection of cuffs, rings, and earrings, where each stone is set with precision and an unparalleled sense of softness. A rose gold bracelet dazzles with the brilliance of 1,145 white diamonds, enhanced by an additional 460 brown diamonds. Complementing this piece are a band of white and brown diamonds and a pair of hoop earrings. For a burst of color, Pomellato presents a set of cuffs with a leopard print effect adorned with 247 pink sapphires and 44 black tourmalines, framed by white diamond edges. A matching ring, featuring a 4.89 carat pink spinel. The green bracelet is resplendent with 165 tsavorites and 44 amethysts that give way to a white diamond pavé. Accompanying this piece is a ring showcasing a 3.45 carat tsavorite.

Each pendant symbolizes a different aspect of the future and embodies the guiding principles of the cowgirl spirit. Available in 18K yellow, rose, and white gold, and featuring either quartz or rainbow moonstone crystals, these pendants are designed to inspire the wearer to live a confident and adventurous life. The Faith pendant represents unwavering belief, the Chance pendant celebrates serendipitous opportunities, and the Destiny pendant signifies the fulfillment of one’s true purpose.
EMBRACING WESTERN FASHION
“Turquoise is often used in Western-style jewelry and accessories, making it a staple in cowgirl fashion,” says Karina Brez. “Its bright blue hue adds a pop of color to outfits, complementing other Western elements like leather and silver. It is a symbol of tradition and a nod to the enduring legacy of Western fashion.” Karina Brez’s meticulous attention to detail is evident in every piece of the Cowgirl LUV collection. Kicking off the weekend by showcasing the best in underground music culture, HUGO partnered with Boiler Room, an independent music platform and cultural curator known for supporting emerging artists and bridging the gap between local dancefloors and the wider world. With the HUGO x Boiler Room party on Friday, May 3, both collaborators celebrated the rebellious side of racing through music and fashion. Live music from Miami-based artists Ivy Queen and La Goony Chonga – along with DJ talents v1fro, El Gusano, and Sel.6 –generated hype on the ground and increased online engagement from fans worldwide. PROTECT YOUR SUMMER SKIN: BEYOND JUST SUNBURN
Rethink what your sunscreen can do for you. We want more from our skincare – and this includes sun protection.
Dermatology expert Dr Sonia Khorana explains “Extrinsic factors include pollution, the sun’s rays, IR, and HEV, which all trigger free radical damage and oxidative stress, leading to inflammation, accelerated ageing, and exacerbation of existing skin conditions”
“People don’t know what their sunscreen can be doing for them”, Dr Sonia continues. “We can effectively protect and shield against these damaging factors, along with their associated effects, through daily use of a hard-working hybrid sunscreen – one product which contains multiple hard-working ingredients to greater benefit your skin.”
AlumierMD’s reformulated hybrid sunscreens Sheer Hydration and Clear Shield protect are enriched with effective ingredients to protect against six possible environmental aggressors.
We have up to 90% control over how our skin ages. The remaining 10% is beyond our control, as it involves intrinsic factors like genetics.
But it’s not just what we put on our faces that’s important, it’s how and when we apply too.
Dr Sonia explains “Several studies have found that most people apply less than half of the amount of sun-cream required to provide the level of protection indicated on the packaging. You need half a teaspoon of sunscreen for your face and neck (which equals to 2 finger length strips roughly). I advise applying one finger strip and letting it absorb, then going over it again so you can cover any areas you’ve missed.
You should always reapply sunscreen every two hours after you put it on as the sunscreen layer on your skin get broken down by several things like direct exposure to sunlight or by sweating/being in the water
You should apply sunscreen all year round. We all know that the sun is at its strongest in the summer and you are more susceptible to UV damage, but that doesn’t mean that the risk isn’t present throughout the year. UV rays are present all year round, so make sure that SPF is a staple in your routine. UVA rays can penetrate through clouds, glass etc.
Along with sunscreen use, I’d recommend wearing protective clothing such as a long-sleeved shirt, pants, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses. Look for clothing with a UV protection factor (UPF).
A great tip is checking the UV index on your phone – When the UV index is 3 or more, the sun is strong enough to cause damage so take care and protect your skin.
Seek shade when appropriate. Remember that the sun’s rays are strongest between 11am to 3pm in the UK, but this can differ depending on where in the world you are. If your shadow is shorter than you are, seek shade.”

COLLECTOR SPOTLIGHT
LIVING WITH ART DR AARON RONI NEUMARK
London based Israeli-German art collector, Dr. Aaron Roni Neumark, is a passionate and respected collector who dedicates much of his time to the preservation of fine artworks.
As the trustee and custodian of the extraordinary Neumark Family Trust & Collection, he oversees an intergenerational family art and Judaica collection, founded in 19th-century PrussianGermany by his ancestors.
The collection contains over 5000 incredible historical items in a great variety of media - oil paintings, drawings, rare books, engravings, etchings, illustrated and illuminated scrolls and manuscripts, as well as other visual works printed on porcelain, parchment, silk, and paper, dating from the 15th to the 19th centuries, representing 500 years of art, culture, and legacy.
Neumark has a vision to introduce this powerful, historic collection of art to wider audiences. His artefacts are systematically acquired, catalogued and then kept in suitable conditions storages. Neumark is a passionate collector who truly lives with his art. He also owns several of the rarest books in the world, such as first editions by Shakespeare and Copernicus, atlases printed on parchment by the 16th century cartographer Agnese Battista, selection of prayer and religious books on vellum, as well as a sole copy of the whole bible printed in Hebrew on vellum during 1517-1518 in Venice.
The Neumark Family Collection also holds dozens of original etchings by Rembrandt van Rijn (Netherlands, 1606-1669), etched during his lifetime, illustrating Biblical scenes from the Old Testament, and depicting Judaic subjects and portraits.
Neumark likes to live with many of his glorious treasures, carefully displayed in his own home, celebrating their existence and letting guests get a truly close look at these historical works.
He is based between London, Berlin and Tel-Aviv. His stunning Knightsbridge apartment is a treasure trove of the most extraordinary artefacts and art
works. Historical oil painting portraits sit grandly alongside remarkable rare books and manuscripts.
At just 48, he is probably the youngest collector of Judaica at this level in the world, and is passionately committed to drawing wider audiences into this fascinating and important historical genre of art.
Neumark’s long-term vision is to eventually open his own museum in Tel-Aviv, so that this important collection can be presented and experienced by much wider audiences.
His curiosity and keen eye recently saw him acquire another version of the Mona Lisa, arguably the most famous artwork in the world. He saw the painting was available via Christie’s Old Master in New York and was intrigued to know more about its provenance.
The received wisdom is that around five original versions of the Mona Lisa were painted by Leonardo Da Vinci and his students. Neumark was keen to investigate - could this be one of them?
Christie’s credited the painting in its catalogue as by a ‘Follower of Leonardo Da Vinci’.
The painting owned by a private collector in Japan, where acquired by the next one circa 1990, lacked any further information about its historical source, age, chain of ownership, restoration campaigns, etc.
Neumark sensed the work needed further scrutiny and decided
to bid on it at the auction.
Successfully acquiring the painting, now elegantly resides in his private residence in London.
Once acquiring the painting, Neumark embarked on a journey to establish whether this mysterious work could be a legitimate 16thcentury artwork by an immediate follower of the master himself. He employed a team of leading forensic scientists who painstakingly analysed the colour palette, pigment samples, layer structure, and ageing process to authenticate and date the composition used in the piece. After much examination, they confirmed the piece could plausibly have been painted in the 16th century.
Neumark then sought the advice and treatment of leading art conservationist and restorer Simon Gillespie and his team. Simon is known for his regular BBC appearances on programmes such as Britain’s Lost Masterpieces and Fake or Fortune, revealing hidden art history with his world-class restoration. Simon has treated artworks by Picasso, Banksy, Hockney, Brueghel, Lowry, Kaws and more. His restoration has led to the discovery of lost masterpieces
by Titian, Rubens, Botticelli, and Rembrandt.
Now it was time for Simon and his team to turn their hands to this mysterious Mona Lisa.
The conservation team discovered that the painting was made by copying the Leonardo’s original, or the Prado version, at an early stage when the original was not dirty and obscured as it is known and seen today. They examined the overall pattern of cracking across the whole paint surface, which was typical of the painting’s presumed age. Tests have also suggested that the colour palette of the Neumark Mona Lisa is comparable to the Prado version, executed by one of Leonardo’s close pupils.
After a very delicate campaign of surface treatment and cleaning, both Neumark and the Simon Gillespie team decided to avoid a full varnish removal, to keep the painting identical in its appearance to the one hanging in the Louvre.
Neumark comments, “Ms. Lisa Gherardini del Giocondo, ‘Mona Lisa’, is an eternal and incomparable icon, and from now on, another Jewel in the Crown of The Neumark Family Collection.”
