Dear Friends, When the cornerstone was laid in 1881 the future was very bright for Newberry; from several brickyards and many dedicated workers, arose a stately Victorian Opera House. They built it to stand for all time, for all guests, for all types of performances, for longevity.

I went up into the tower not too long ago and as I felt the cool breeze on my face I noticed all these changes to our environment. I was able to see a thriving town, hear the musings of people filling the streets, and smell the wonderful aromas of local restaurants; these made me “Think Beyond the Tower”. In these past 20 years think about how the Opera House has touched every aspect of Newberry, the county, our region and even on the international performing arts industry. I often ask the staff, look beyond our tower and tell me what is important to our community, what concerns them, what are they celebrating, where do WE need to be to support our community as they have supported us these last 20 years?

With the celebration comes a new limited time logo that you will see on all mailings this year.

To celebrate 20 we look to our chandelier for inspiration. After all, it flies high above all the guests - what stories she could tell! Come celebrate with us! Bring new friends downtown, try a show that you wouldn’t in the past, sit in a new seat for a new perspective. After all, it’s that thinking beyond the tower that built us, saved us and propels us for many more years.

From choreographer Gustavo Ramirez Sansano comes a piece entitled “Flabbergast”, which the “The Chicago Tribune” called a “fun -filled spectacle”. One of the leading voices of Mexican contemporary dance, Tania Pérez-Salas drew inspiration from the number Pi to reflect on the circularity of our movement through life in her piece “Catorces Dieciséis”.

Ticket Delivery Options: 1) Have your tickets e-mailed to you. Make sure to print the

attached pdf and bring with you to the show. Phone images do not always scan so please print out your tickets on one sided full sheets of paper to ensure quicker seating.

2) Have your tickets held in “Will Call” for pick up beginning 1 hour prior to show. 3) Have your tickets mailed directly to your home. There is a $3 shipping fee for this option.

Fees: A $3 per ticket facility fee and a $5 per order handling fee will be charged. The $5 handling fee is waived for orders placed in person at the Box Office. If you choose to have tickets delivered directly to your home, there is an additional $3 per order shipping fee. There is no charge to have a pdf of your tickets e-mailed to you nor to pick tickets up at “will call” night of show.

Newberry Opera House Gift Cards: Guests may purchase gift cards through the Box Office or online at NewberryOperaHouse.com. Gift cards can be mailed, e-mailed, or even sent by text as a gift to a third party. Gift cards are only redeemable on the phone or in person. If lost, they will not be replaced. Gift Cards have no cash value and are good for 5 years from the date of issuance.

All Sales are Final: Newberry Opera House reserves the right to present a substitute show, artist, content, date or time for a performance without notice.
