COOKING EASY STIR FRY AFTER A HECTIC DAY At the end of a hectic day, the very least thing you want to do is spend hours of cooking in your kitchen. Common alternative is takeout dinner every night. This is delicious but not really a perfect idea. It is a bit expensive and home cooking is still the best solution to home financial planning. If you are hungry for a recipe that is simple but delicious, stir fry is your best bet. Here is an easy stir fry that healthy, totally delectable and very colorful for the family to enjoy. Make a healthy dinner with this satisfying quick stir fry cooking in your kitchen. Here are some tips that can help you run through your kitchen with ease and promises to provide a wonderful kitchen experience for the cook. Remember stir frying combines food full of fiber rich vegetables and lean proteins to make a delicious dinner. Here are simple tips to follow and remember. TIPS: Make sure you have all the ingredients you need ahead of time. Before you start, make sure all the ingredients are cut to desired directions. Please do not try to prepare ingredients while stir frying, you won’t make it successfully. For even cooking, cut all the ingredients the same sizes. If not following a recipe, cut all the ingredients into bit-size pieces. Meat is normally stir fried on high heat to seal in the juices, but individual recipes may differ. Never add more than a cup of meat at a time to the wok. Lay meat out flat to cook through. Remove the meat from the wok when it changes color or browned. The meat is approximately eighty percent done at this point. If possible, wash the vegetables ahead of time to ensure that they have drained and are not too wet. As an alternative try adding a few drops of water while stir frying if they get too dry. When stir frying meat, wait for a few seconds then toss or flip the meat to give time to brown. On stir frying veggie, begin moving them immediately as they touch the hot pan. THE CLASSIC BEEF AND BROCCOLI STIR FRY: INGREDIENTS: • 3 tablespoons cornstarch, divided • 1/2 cup water, plus • 2 tablespoons water, divided • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 lb boneless round steak or chuck steak, pls. cut into thin three inch strips • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided • 4 cups broccoli florets • 1 small onion, cut into wedges • 1/3 cup reduced sodium soy sauce • 2 tablespoons brown sugar • 1 teaspoon ground ginger • hot cooked rice • • • •

PROCEDURE: Prepare the marinate by combining two tablespoons of cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water and garlic powder and stir until smooth, cornstarch totally dissolve. Add beef and toss to coat the marinade. Let it sit for at least fifteen minutes. Start frying by heating a large skillet or wok over medium high heat on your American stove. Stir fry the beef in one tablespoon of oil until the beef reaches desired doneness or has begun to brown. Remove and keep warm.

Return the wok and stir fry the broccoli and onion with the remaining oil for four to five minutes. (If you want a softer broccoli, blanch the broccoli on hot water then drain and pat dry before frying) Return beef to pan. Then prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, ginger, brown sugar and remaining cornstarch and water and stir until smooth. Then pour to the pan and stir. Cook and stir for two minutes until the sauce bubbles and thickens. Serve this easy stir fry while hot on a serving platter. Great if paired with hot steaming rice.
