For the Florida Republican Gubernatorial Nomination: Adam Putnam & Ron DeSantis
he Christian Family Coalition (CFC) recently held separate events at the Miami Airport Sheraton Hotel for the top two contenders for the Republican nomination of Governor of Florida. Organized by CFC President Anthony Verdugo and the Coalition’s leadership, in this occasion each candidate was hosted on different days due to scheduling issues. The CFC routinely hosts major candidates at such events so that candidates may present their views and in turn allow CFC members and guests to better evaluate the candidates’ platforms and personal values. The events also evidenced the respect and appreciation earned by the Coalition, as both candidates came to Miami especially for these breakfast events and left immediately thereafter to attend other events elsewhere in Florida. During each event El Vocero News enjoyed a rare Miami opportunity to sit and chat with the candidates (Adam Putnam on July 24 and Ron DeSantis on July 28) at the table of one of the main event Sponsors. Both candidates were impressive. Adam Putnam spoke of the diversity of Florida’s priorities, showing a detailed understanding of the distinct needs of Florida’s various counties. Florida’s population ranges from agricultural counties with small populations (some with as few as two or three public schools) to others such as Miami-Dade, the center of a South Florida megalopolis, and home to the fourth largest school system in the country. Ron DeSantis, the frontrunner, has been endorsed and recently again endorsed by President Trump. DeSantis shares the President’s views on the economy, strong border security, and social and other issues. His enthusiasm to champion their common agenda is virtually palpable, and bodes for an era of full cooperation between the Florida Governor’s Mansion and the White House if his candidacy prevails.

Para la Nominación Republicana como Gobernador de la Florida: Adam Putnam y Ron DeSantis
E
l “Christian Family Coalition” (importante e influyente asociación Cristiana, conocida como CFC por sus siglas en ingles) recientemente celebro dos eventos para los principales candidatos a la nominación del Partido Republicano para Gobernador de la Florida. Organizados por Anthony Verdugo, Presidente de la CFC, junto con otros líderes de la asociación, ambos tomaron lugar en el Hotel Miami Sheraton Airport, dandole bienvenida a Adam Putnam el 24 y a Ron DeSantis el 28 de Julio. La CFC periódicamente celebra tales eventos para darle oportunidad a los candidatos de presentar sus plataformas, mientras que a la vez los miembros de CFC pueden mejor evaluar sus planes de gobierno y calidad humana y valores . Una señal de la relevancia de la CFC es que ambos candidatos viajaron a Miami expresamente para estos eventos e inmediatamente siguieron a otras partes de la Florida en cuanto concluyeron. Como invitado a la mesa de un Sponsor principal de los dos eventos, El Vocero News tuvo oportunidad de sentarse junto a desayunar y brevemente charlar con cada uno de los candidatos. Ambos se destacaron como ampliamente capaces de liderar la Florida, el tercer estado mas populoso de EEUU. Adam Putnam habló de la diversidad de las prioridades de la Florida, mostrando una comprensión detallada de las distintas necesidades de los diversos condados que lo componen. Algunos condados agrícolas están esparcidos que tienen solo dos o tres escuelas publicas, mientras que en contraste Miami-Dade compone el centro demográfico de una gran megalopolis y representa el cuarto mayor sistema escolar en la nación. A su vez, Ron DeSantis es prototipicamente dinámico y favorito en las encuestas. Cuenta con el respaldo repetidamente expresado del Presidente Trump y comparte la agenda del Presidente sobre economía, la seguridad de fronteras, y en aspectos sociales entre otros. El grado de cooperación entre la Casa Blanca y la Mansion del Gobernador de Florida seria altísimo si DeSantis concreta su eventual victoria.

Palmetto General Hospital Participates in Back to School Drive

Cristina Jimenez Named to Board of South Florida Surgery Center
C
hief Executive Officer of Coral Gables Hospital, Cristina Jimenez, is appointed to the Governing Board of the South Florida Surgery Center. In this role, she will help oversee the facility’s quality and fiscal integrity while the surgery center fulfills its mission of treating each patient and their family members as if they were one of their own. “Cristina is an exceptional leader who has dedicated her entire career to the health and wellbeing of patients,” said Karl Rene, Administrator of South Florida Surgery Center. “We are pleased to welcome Cristina to our Governing Board, and we look forward to her input as we collectively continue to move healthcare forward in the communities we serve.” Jimenez began her career at Coral Gables Hospital, and has served in various roles over a more than 30year span. Prior to her current position as CEO, she was the hospital’s chief operating officer. Jimenez oversaw operations for all non-nursing departments
and managed the overall direction of the facility licensure and regulatory accreditations. Prior to being promoted to COO, Jimenez was the hospital’s associate administrator. Under her leadership, the hospital achieved Joint Commission Accreditation, implemented a new risk management system and hospital safety program. Jimenez was actively involved in achieving the hospital’s designation as the first in Miami-Dade County to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for both total hip and total knee replacements. Coral Gables Hospital was recently named to Tenet Healthcare’s prestigious Circle of Excellence and is also a top performer in the company for patient satisfaction.
