JIM WEICHERDING When Lou first asked me to start writing the new Good Guy of the Month feature articles, one of the first people that came to my mind was Rob Bourne. Here is somebody that always goes out of his way to help people when they need his help. I’m not necessarily supposed to write about businesses with this article and I’ve already written a business profile article for Rob’s Transmission a while back, but this article needs to reflect upon his business as well as Rob himself. Why? Because a majority of what he does to help people stems from what he does at his automotive shop. I know this firsthand, because he helped me last year when I was desperately trying to keep my truck running so I could continue to go to car shows, cruise nights and community events trying to keep kids safer in the family vehicle. That’s what he does for his customers too. He fixed my truck so I could do that. Not everyone has $1,000’s of dollars to shell out for vehicle repairs and Rob knows that. So, he helps. His crew are top notch mechanics that are knowledgeable and trustworthy. He also has a gorgeous Camaro that he brings to area car shows and cruise nights and helps out those event’s charity causes at the same time. This is a person who worked his entire life to find something good and secure for himself and his family.

It has not been an easy road for him. He set out to accomplish something and followed through with a lot of hard work and dedication to his goals. I have a lot of respect for him and so do a lot of people out there that know him, as well as the staff at Motorhead Magazine. If you happen to see Rob at an area car show or cruise night stop by and say, “Hi.” He is very smart and knows alot about cars and trucks, classics and not-so classics. If it has four tires under the frame, chances are very good that he knows what makes that vehicle work. He is also a great conversationalist and what he knows about cars and trucks is astounding.
