OMNIVORE
Italy’s extreme metal horde Omnivore are out with their selftitled debut full length album under Unspeakable Axe Records. Omnivore has built a fast album characterized by an insane combination of highspeed technical thrash with a hint of death metal. In fact, this record is pretty much a blitzkrieg throughout with an occasional midpaced moments. The fast pace is all over the place a lot of the time, but doesn’t go out of control. There are tons and tons of highspeed riffs in every songs, but you don't get lost. The songs structures are well refined with extremely interesting susprises here and there. They are pretty multidimensional and full of creative transition riffing. The vocals are very raspy, perfect for death/thrash, and supported by many gang vocals as well. Even despite the oldschool thrash influences (e.g. Slayer, Kreator) that come forth in their music, this album still manages to sound fresh. It possesses some topnotch material and it proves that in the 2010s there are some good old thrashdeath sticking around. OMNIVORE Omnivore Unspeakable Axe Records 18 February 2014 Composition:
