READING FROM THE HEART

Yoiko CDC

Tuesday, Feb. 1–Monday, Feb. 28

For the whole month of February, we are encouraging parents to read to their children every day. The center will be having a competition on how many books each classroom can read in a month. The teachers will be making hearts for the parents to write on. When you read a book to your child write your child's name, what book they read, and the date on the heart then bring it back to the teacher's so they can display it on the classroom door. The classroom with the most hearts wins more books for their classroom!

Step 2: Upload all required documents and submit your application. While a resume is required for consideration, candidates must also upload supporting documents necessary to verify any claimed preferences. The candidate’s name must be on the documents and the documents must be legible. If you do not upload supporting documents for claimed preferences, you will be listed as a “no preference” applicant. You must upload supporting documents for each vacancy announcement you apply for.

Selected applicants receive a tentative offer via email with a link that expires 48 hours thereafter. Failure to respond within 48 hours will be considered a declination and your application status will be p gy updated accordingly.

FSS Spotlight

What is your favorite part about working at Arts & Crafts? My favorite part about working with the Arts and Crafts Center is the fun I have with the other girls. We are really a tight-knit group and get along so well, which makes working here that much more enjoyable. They are my family away from home.

What do you wish the Misawa Community knew about your programs?

Kayla Reichenbach Assistant Director Misawa Arts & Crafts Center

28 |

February 2022

What I wish the Misawa Community knew about our program is that we have a framing, graphic, and wood shop department. These programs are often overlooked because they are in a different location. Our staff is comprised of amazing, hardworking and talented individuals!

What is your best Arts & Crafts memory? My best memory with the Arts and Crafts Center is getting to plan and set up for our big events, like Winter Extravaganza. Having a hand in planning from start to finish and seeing how it affects the community here on Misawa Air Base is a very satisfying feeling.
