LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Iam honored and privileged to serve as the 107th President of the Missouri Athletic Club. The MAC is a treasured institution in the St. Louis community with a remarkable history. Some of the brightest business, professional and civic-minded individuals in our community have served as President of the MAC. It is humbling to be included on that list.

My wife, Ashley, our two sons, Henry and George, and I have been richly rewarded by our membership in the Club for the past twenty-plus years. This coming year, I welcome the opportunity to work with my fellow Governors, committee Members and exemplary staff towards executing our VISION to be the foremost private club in St. Louis known for attracting exceptional people, enriching lives for generations and fulfilling our MISSION of creating extraordinary experiences in all aspects of Club life in the spirit of excellence, service and tradition.

I thank my HISTORIC predecessor, Angie Minges, for her selfless and dedicated leadership this past year. Being the “first” at anything is never an easy task - being the first female president in the 119-year history of the Club was, to say the least, daunting. Angie more than rose to the occasion! Her positive attitude, dogged determination and strategic thinking have set an outstanding example for the future leaders of our Club. On a personal level, I cannot thank Angie enough for her time and patience in preparing me for this role.

I also extend sincere appreciation to the outgoing officers: First Vice President, Aaron Pawlitz; Second Vice President, Julie Ahrling; Secretary, Duke Niedringhaus and Treasurer, Matt Gross. Your class embraced the challenge of helping lead the Club through unprecedented obstacles presented by COVID-19. In your final year on the Board, your work on important matters such as branding strategy, succession planning, and civic engagement have made a significant impact and will serve as a springboard for the Club’s future success.

The 2022/23 Board of Governors is an outstanding group of innovative and dedicated men and women who are poised to take the reins. My fellow officers (First Vice President, Tracey Beckette; Second Vice President, Justin Fowler; Secretary, Chris Swank and Treasurer, Steve Albart) and the junior class Governors (Carter Alexander, Mark McClanahan, Cheri McLaughlin, Mark Niemeyer, and Neal Perryman) join me in welcoming the newest class of Governors: Tom Dankenbring, Tim Maynard, Jodi Peterson, Gary Sextro and Jeff Wehmer. Thank you in advance for your commitment and willingness to serve.

I look forward to using this space to provide updates on key Club initiatives and proactive communication about both the Club’s achievements and challenges that we encounter. In that vein, here are a few items that are on the Board’s immediate horizon:

F ENGAGEMENT. In the past year, more than 380 new Members have joined the Club. It is imperative that we work with the Membership Committee and our outstanding staff to make sure that all Members feel welcome, understand the history and traditions of the Club and avail themselves of the Club’s outstanding amenities and programs.

F FACILITIES ENHANCEMENTS. On the heels of the successful completion of the Jack Buck Grille renovation (save for some “supply chain constrained” new furniture), I am pleased to report that the

renovation of the 1903 dining room out West has started. We look forward to re-opening this space this coming fall. The 1903 bar space is extremely popular with our Members. I have no doubt that the renovated 1903 dining room will be equally well received. The Planning and Finance Committees and the Board will continue to analyze, prioritize and appropriately budget for future improvements to both Clubhouses.

F BRANDING STRATEGY. The Board will collaborate with Club staff to effectively communicate the aforementioned new mission and vision statements to our existing Members and those looking to join the Club. We will prioritize the development and deployment of an overall branding campaign that will highlight the exceptional image of the MAC.

F CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. The Club has made significant inroads with a diverse and compelling group of community partners, including the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Chaifetz Business School at Saint Louis University. By continuing to focus on civic engagement, we will enhance Member recruitment and engagement and cultivate the Club’s community presence. The Club’s goal is to have a “seat at the table” when important decisions affecting our community are being discussed and determined.

F STAFF RECOGNITION. Our Club is blessed to have an outstanding and dedicated group of employees who strive to make the Members’ day-to-day experiences extraordinary. Space in upcoming issues of the Cherry Diamond will be dedicated to recognizing some of these amazing individuals. I encourage each of you to say a special “thank you” to an employee who has made your Club experience extraordinary. I will take the lead by thanking Gena Willis. Gena’s official title is Executive Assistant to our CEO, Wally Smith. However, she is also the liaison from the Board to the Club staff. She facilitates all Board of Governors and Committee meetings, makes sure that all agendas and minutes are sent out to the appropriate recipients, coordinates IT logistics for our meetings and serves as our “recording” secretary. In short, we could not function without her assistance. Gena, a sincere thank you for all that you do!

I pledge to be a “Members First” President who works with my fellow Governors to set an agenda and achieve goals that are reflective of our Members’ priorities. When you see me or my fellow Governors, please do not hesitate to stop and engage us in a conversation or ask a question. I cannot promise that you will always get your desired answer or outcome, but I assure you that your voice will be heard, your opinions will be respected and our conversations will be honest, transparent, and productive.

LETTER FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER

This past year has been one for the books at the Missouri Athletic Club! With several capital projects underway and our Club finally attaining the goal of 2,500 Members, we have quite a bit to celebrate.

The much-awaited refreshed Jack Buck Grille is now open! The reopened restaurant features a refreshed design with upscale counters and floors, top-of-the-line kitchen equipment, more TVs and Jack Buck memorabilia. Members who have already visited the new Jack Buck Grille after its opening in early May can also look forward to a new menu to be unveiled soon as well as new furniture, which is slowly but assuredly making its way here from its supplier.

As the Jack Buck Grille project wraps up, the MAC has started construction on the 1903 dining room at the West Clubhouse. It is my hope that this project will bring the beloved atmosphere from the 1903 bar into the Members’ dining experience, making it the best restaurant in West County that only Members can enjoy. This project is currently expected to finish this September, which will coincide with the beginning of the fiscal year.

Speaking of the fiscal year, we are currently on

track to meet our budget. We are exceeding our budgeted Membership numbers, Club usage is up, Downtown banquets are receiving quite a bit of business and our Food and Beverage numbers are finally back to where they were before COVID-19.

As I had previously mentioned, due to the shortage of workers in food and beverage, housekeeping and other service-oriented industries, we are still looking for top talent to join our ranks. Send an exceptional folks looking to join a Platinum Team our way.

That being said, I would like to give a shoutout to all of our staff who have been working hard, often working overtime or taking on tasks outside of their job descriptions to provide our Members with the top-notch service they expect from the Club. Our staff’s hard work has not gone unnoticed, and I sincerely appreciate everything they do.

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP

The Missouri Athletic Club is excited to announce we have officially hit our goal of reaching 2,500 Members! While this is great news, the past membership numbers have shown that 2,500 total Members is the capacity for the West Clubhouse. We feel strongly about protecting that promise to those who are regular users of the facilities at West.

This means we are now establishing a waitlist for our West Clubhouse. New Members are still encouraged to join as provisional Members. With this membership, they will be able to take advantage of all the amenities at the Downtown Clubhouse, along with our Glen Echo Dual Membership and reciprocal club programs. This gives provisional Members the ability to start forming meaningful relationships while enjoying the special MAC camaraderie, events and athletics as they await West access!

With normal Club attrition each month, we should

average about 10-15 spots available at West. Lately, however, the attrition has been at an all-time low with fewer Members leaving the Club. Anyone who joins the waiting list as a provisional Member should expect to wait at least three months to gain West access as this list continues to grow. Following the Board meeting each month, the appropriate number of Members will be notified that they are being granted access to the West Clubhouse.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Mark Peterman

CD: What got you interested in the Missouri Athletic Club prior to joining?

MP: My first experience with the Club was in 2019 at an event where the head basketball coaches of major programs around the St. Louis area spoke about their upcoming seasons. Mark McClanahan hosted me. I met several people there who have become friends through my involvement at the MAC. Based on that and several visits with my wife, Nancy, we decided this would be a good fit to expand our community and invest in our health and wellness.

CD: What is the most memorable experience you have had at the MAC?

MP: We hosted the rehearsal dinner for our son’s wedding in the Crystal Room downtown in January 2022. The staff did an amazing job of making the evening a wonderful experience for all who attended. We received many compliments about the incredible service, the quality of the food and the beautiful venue. The staff service that evening made it easy for us to focus on the bride, groom and our guests. We are grateful we could host the event at the MAC.

CD: What is your favorite activity or event to attend at the MAC?

MP: I’m a new racquetball player. I enjoy developing my skills and competing in the league. Everyone playing in the league has been welcoming to players of all skill levels. Outside of league play, I enjoy pick-up games in the evenings or on Saturdays. It’s a terrific way to clear my head during a busy week while getting a great workout. Nancy and I also enjoy the Glen Echo dual membership and can be found on the golf course most weekends. We joined the MAC in February 2020 and added Glen Echo that summer. We played a lot of pandemic golf and continue to enjoy the dual membership!

CD: Tell us about your professional career at csg.

MP: As the president of csg, I wear many hats, as one can imagine. I’m grateful to lead such a talented and dedicated team at csg to serve clients across verticals like healthcare, distribution, agriculture and transportation. We use the untapped power of data to help businesses grow revenue and impact. At csg, we develop long-term client relationships, which offers me an opportunity to see the

results of our work over the years. This is my 10th year with the firm as one of the owners. I’m blessed to enjoy life’s journey with an amazing team and great clients.

CD: What makes csg stand out from other companies?

MP: At csg, take pride in our tagline of igniting data and empowering people. We do this across companies large and small, helping them drive revenue, scale more efficiently and reduce expenses. We do this at the intersection of business strategy and analytics, a place many know but often need help navigating the journey there. Our secret is simply exceptional people. Clients tell us they come back to csg over and over because they love our people and the continuity of our teams. As a company that’s over 30 years old, we have many people that have been with us for over 20 years. That’s not typical in the tech world. The fact that our people stay current on technology over a long time to deliver value to our clients is a testament to one of our core values, “Be Curious.”

CD: How has the Club helped your professional career?

MP: The Club helps me professionally by creating opportunities to meet new people in a variety of industries. I learn from these new connections. I also enjoy connecting people I’ve met at the Club with others who could receive help from their knowledge, experience or services.

CD: What does your life look like outside of the Club and csg?

MP: Outside of the Club and csg, I can be found working in the yard around our home in Chesterfield. I enjoy the outdoors and find it relaxing. My wife and I also enjoy Cardinals games after dinner at the Jack Buck Grille. Our children currently live in downtown Minneapolis, so we enjoy visiting the Twin Cities regularly.

CD: What can Members find you doing in your free time?

MP: Nancy and I enjoy life as “empty-nesters” and love to travel. We also volunteer with Young Life. We are excited about their mission. Young Life leaders go where high school kids are to build authentic friendships. They give every kid the opportunity to hear the good news of God’s love for them. No matter what these kids believe, they find a place where they are loved and accepted.

CD: How has your perception of the Club changed since joining?

MP: The MAC has so much to offer, I can’t take advantage of all of it. My appreciation and enjoyment of the Club continues to grow as I attend events like the Speaker Series and make use of the athletic and dining facilities. This is a special community.

CD: What makes the MAC stand out from other clubs in the St. Louis area?

MP: Friendly and welcoming Members, exceptional staff and leadership focused on improving the Club experience year after year. We’re excited for the future of the MAC and glad to be part of the community. F

The MAC Book Club continues its meetings on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the West Clubhouse. On Tuesday, June 9, Kim Grana will lead the discussion of “One, Two, Three” by Laurie Frankel. Everyone knows everyone in the tiny town of Bourne. But the Mitchell triplets are especially beloved. Mirabel is the smartest person anyone has ever met, and no one is fooled by her wheelchair or her Voice app into thinking otherwise. Monday is the town’s purveyor of books now that the library’s closed—tell her the book you think you want, and she’ll pull the one you actually do. Mab’s job is hardest of all: get good grades, get into college, get out of Bourne. For a few weeks seventeen years ago, Bourne was national news when its water turned green and was declared unfit for use, but it was too late for its residents. And just when it seems life might go on the same forever, the first moving truck anyone has seen in years pulls up. Then a new student enrolls at Bourne Memorial High. He’s smart and handsome and exciting—and the Mitchell family’s sworn enemy. And soon, in a town where nothing ever changes, suddenly everything does.

OFF TO THE RACES: MAC HOSTS DERBY PARTY

On Saturday, May 7, the West Clubhouse 1903 bar and patio was transformed into the ultimate viewing party for the 2022 Kentucky Derby. Members and guests enjoyed mint juleps and a derby-inspired buffet by Chef Charles Williams.

Singing for a cause

The Apollos held their spring concert on Friday, April 22, in the Art Lounge at the Downtown Clubhouse. Members and guests were excited to hear the ‘80s-themed set that the group practiced diligently to perfect. In lieu of paying for a ticket, guests were encouraged to donate to the MAC’s Charitable Society for Children. Classic hits like “Celebration,” “Africa” and “On the Road Again” were performed under the guise of Musical Director, Dr. Marc Strathman. F

The Forever Young Club: Around Town for Art and History

A blustery early spring day found Forever Young Club members at the Missouri Historical Society Library and Research Center and the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum of Washington University’s campus.

In 1989, when the United Hebrew congregation wanted to move west, the Missouri Historical Society bought the 1927 synagogue on Skinker Boulevard. Today, the former sanctuary retains its original architectural majesty, now transformed into a research library containing more than 90,000 volumes and a manuscript collection that extends over 7,800 linear feet. Included is the extensive personal collection donated by Charles Lindbergh.

FYC members were thrilled when they were shown the solid gold membership card the MAC presented to Lindbergh. Since the Missouri Historical Society focuses on St. Louis area artifacts, museum staff set out a large display of print materials from the MAC. Included were an early club roster, restaurant and special event menus reflecting fine dining of past eras, plus a variety of other historic MAC publications. In a special behind-the-scenes tour of the four-story artifact storage area, the FYC saw the

care with which artifacts were preserved under controlled temperature and humidity conditions.

After lunch at Washington University’s Faculty Club, the gracious 1912 Whittemore House mansion, the group enjoyed the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum in the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts complex.

Housed in a modern building in striking contrast to the University’s Gothic architecture, the museum dates to 1881 with the founding of the St. Louis School and Museum of Fine Arts at Washington University, then located in Downtown St. Louis. Since its inception, the collection has focused on acquiring significant works by artists of the time, a legacy that continues today. The private tour of the artwork included all eras of the collection with the opportunity for an interpretative discussion of several of the most important works on display. This included an early Jackson Pollock piece – before his style changed from modern impressionism to large scale canvases containing bold, flowing colors. On Monday, June 6, the 78th Anniversary of D-Day, the MHC will host a military history movie night featuring CBS Reports “D-Day Plus 20 Years - Eisenhower Returns to Normandy.” Members are encouraged to join at 6 p.m. at the West Clubhouse for a viewing of this on-site interview of Supreme Allied Commander General Dwight D. Eisenhower by legendary CBS reporter Walter Cronkite. Originally aired in 1964, this report follows Eisenhower and Cronkite over the staging, landing and inland areas of the greatest amphibious landing in history. Share the insights of the commander and the questions of the interviewer that make this program historic in its own right.

The Mark Twain Society held a whiskey tasting in the Sportsman’s Club on Wednesday, May 11. MTS Members and guests tasted a variety of whiskey and cigars. Since its opening in 1903, the Missouri Athletic Club has been an institution built on community, camaraderie and fellowship in the St. Louis community. Throughout history, the Club has evolved with the ever-changing society to become a more inclusive and family-friendly establishment. Last year, the Club set a course on building on its past and setting a course for its future.

The Board of Governors led by President Angie Minges worked to develop a brand strategy to help articulate its Vision and Mission, which will drive the Club’s growth strategy and align Member experience with its brand.

“Our intent is to use our vision and mission to make intentional decisions,” said Past President Angie Minges.

A task force was formed and the Club partnered with consultants Bigwidesky to help put a plan in place. Their proposal was based on answering the main question: How can the Missouri Athletic Club most effectively position its brand such that it can structure a marketing and communications strategy in meeting growth goals?

The process began over the summer with Bigwidesky gathering input through Member focus groups. Those insights highlighted an opportunity for the MAC to clearly articulate a compelling vision and mission to provide a foundation for a growth strategy, as well as provide a well-designed brand position.

The focus group feeback also helped the task force identify some common themes regarding the value of the MAC brand, its traditions, and how it impacts the Members. The aggregation of the feedback, processed through the lens of some target audiences, helped shape the MAC’s brand purpose and position.

In addition, the Board held their annual retreat at the Detroit Athletic Club in October to gain more insights. The DAC had successfully executed similar branding efforts several years ago. Some of the key findings from their visit included:

F Lead with a vision that clearly articulates how you want to grow.

F Your strategy to achieve your vision should include a master facilities plan.

With a fully articulated vision and mission for the Club, the MAC has created a plan to disseminate the information. Throughout the next few months, Members will start to see more of the new vision and mission statements themselves, as well as see their message reflected in all communications, programming and planning. DOUBLE ELIMINATION BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES

The annual MAC Double Elimination Basketball Tournament concluded on Tuesday, April 19. The winning team of this year’s tournament was the team captained by Jimmy Simon. Team Simon beat the team captained by Tom Halliday 45 to 40 in the championship game. Team Simon finished the tournament with an undefeated record of 4 to 0. Team Halliday came out of the loser’s side of the bracket which meant they had to win two games against Team Simon to win the tournament championship. However, team Simon took care of business in game one to win the tournament. Joe Lodes (Team Simon) was named Tournament MVP for his play throughout the tournament. F

MAC Celebrates Extraordinary Basketball Season

The annual MAC Basketball Banquet took place on Monday, April 4, in the Sportsman’s Club to celebrate another successful year of basketball. The MAC basketball players gathered to watch the NCAA Men’s National Basketball Championship game in addition to honoring a few Members with awards.

Tim Van Rhein received the 2022 Bill Daake Sportsmanship Award. The Bill Daake Memorial Sportsmanship Award goes to a player who best exemplifies Daake’s athletic spirit and sportsmanship throughout the basketball season. Daake was a longtime MAC basketball player who died of a cerebral aneurysm at the age of 33. Through his actions and attitudes on the court, he set a standard of sportsmanship that all MAC athletes should strive to attain. As a high school All-American at St. Louis Priory School, Daake was the Globe-Democrat basketball player of the year in 1969. He was recruited by several major colleges and universities. He attended Princeton University, where he played basketball. Van Rhein has been a Member of the MAC since 2001.

Van Rhein has been playing in the MAC basketball leagues since he joined the Club in 2000. Van Rhein was named the MAC Rookie of the Year in 2001 and has also represented the MAC numerous times at the NACAD National Basketball Tournament playing on the A division teams, Masters 45+ division teams and Golden Masters 55+ age division teams over the years. He currently plays in the over 40 league and typically finishes in the top three in scoring. Van Rhein finished second in scoring in the 2021 fall and 2022 winter leagues.

The 2021-2022 Rookie of the Year Award went to Mike Crawford. Crawford played in the 2021 fall and 2022 winter leagues. In the fall of 2021, he finished first in the league in scoring with 33.5 points per game (PPG) average. In the winter of 2022, Crawford helped his team finish as the number four overall seed and made the playoffs. He finished first in the league in scoring with a 38.3 PPG average.

The 2021-2022 “DA BRICK” Award went to Drew Weckbach. Weckbach’s shot was 29% from the line this year (16 to 56 overall). His shot was 8 to 22 in the summer, 6 to 20 in the fall and 2 to 14 in the winter. Drew is now a four-time winner of this award receiving it in 2012, 2017 and 2018. Nobody was awarded the “DA BRICK” for the 2020 or 2021 seasons due to COVID. Drew has now won the award three of the last four times it has been presented. The award is not a trophy, but an actual brick that the winner signs each year and is later displayed as a joke amongst the players in the league. F

MAC Mixed Doubles Crush the Competition

RISING STAR IN SQUASH WINS BIG

Henry Byrne was introduced to squash at the MAC by his grandad, who would take his older brother Sam out every night to play. He would get jealous of his brother and wanted to get out of the house too, and so his squash career began.

Byrne has had a tremendously successful squash season. This past year, he has won the Chicago Silver without dropping a game, played number one for MICDS helping the team finish eighth in High School Nationals (Division 3) and won both the MAC men’s and junior 2022 Club championships.

Throughout his busy season, Byrne placed high at the Gold level tournaments playing against the nation’s top-ranked juniors placing seventh in Houston, TX, and ninth in Atlanta, GA. He has also been ranked Top 100 in all age groups, currently at his highest ranking of #83 among U19 squash players.

To round up an incredible season, Byrne was awarded the Avery Cup for earning the top spot as the highest-ranked men’s U19 player in St Louis high school squash. He was presented the Avery Cup at the Spirit of Saint Louis Squash Foundation Gala. The Avery Cup is recognized as a prestigious prize in partnership with US squash.

Success did not come without a price as Byrne has gone the extra mile in his training and commitment. All the hours of dedication and hard work have paid off this squash season. Congratulations on your squash season, Henry! F

PICKLEBALL LEAGUE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The advanced pickleball league ended their season after nine weeks with a one-night tournament. With so many experienced players, the competition was tough. Dan Langley finished first in regular-season play. Gina Novelly and Jim Hoffmann won the league tournament. F

MAC SQUASH PLACES IN THE MCQUEENIE CUP AND AUBREY CUP

The Missouri Athletic Club participated in the McQueenie Cup (singles) and the Aubrey Cup (doubles) at the University Club of Chicago on April 22-24. Pat Dolan, Joe Dolan, Mark Gaertner, David Neuner, Nick Bahn, Harry Pettey, Carlos Farfan, Reed Montgomery and Andrew Montgomery were part of the Squash team representing the MAC.

This event is named after the long-time squash professional at the Indianapolis Athletic Club, Jim McQueenie, a founding member of NAACAD. The Aubrey Cup was held in honor of former Detroit Athletic Club Athletic Director and national squash champion, Rex Aubrey.

In the 2022 edition of the McQueenie cup the University Club of Chicago, Toledo Club, Detroit Athletic Club and Missouri Athletic Club battled both on the singles courts as well as the doubles court. After a weekend of fierce and fair match play, the MAC placed fourth in the McQueenie Cup. In the doubles draws, the MAC was dominant winning every match in the A draw, reaching the final in the B draw and ultimately were the champions of the Aubrey Cup. As an extra bonus on Saturday afternoon, all players and spectators were treated to an exhibition matchplay by squash professionals Alex Ingham (MAC), Eddie Charlton (TC), Haley Mendez (#WR 35 UClub) and Yoni Ellous (UClub). MAC Athletes Shine in Junior Tennis

The Missouri Athletic Club junior tennis program is continuing to grow and shine at both regional and national levels. At every age, MAC athletes are representing the Club through character and success on the court. In the last few months alone, MAC players have competed in four different states, at every level, from ages 7-17.

F Lily Shah emerged as the champion for the Gateway Masters, with Annie Elias coming in second place.

F Allie Kennedy and Ally Wayne teamed up to win the 18u USTA Level 4 Doubles tournament.

F Emily Kantrovitz and Emerey Gross won the 18u USTA Level 5 Doubles tournament, beating the thirteenth ranked female junior player in the nation.

F Kayla Chan came in second place at the 16u USTA Level 5 Singles tournament, with Shannon Yvonne and Ally Wayne making it to the quarterfinals.

F Allie Kennedy took second place in the 16u USTA L5 Doubles tournament.

On a National Level

F Adelyn Gross competed in L3 tournaments in Texas and Oklahoma placing first in doubles and third in singles. Gross was also part of a national team that placed second in the country for Level 1, which is the highest level in the United States.

F Emerey Gross has also been traveling all over the country and collected her third National Championship Ball in four months when she won Bronze in Doubles at the Easter Bowl in California.

F After a successful tennis career at the MAC, Emily Kantrovitz will be continuing her talents at Emory University later this year under scholarship. The junior tennis program has been lucky to have such exceptional leaders like Kantrovitz.

Congratulations to all MAC junior tennis athletes. Although successfully competing at such high levels in tennis is exciting, the number one priority of the program is to ensure each child enjoys his or her experience in the program. Swimmer Showcases MAC Excellence at Championship

Trey Cunneen, son of Kevin and Nancy Cunneen, has been an MAC swimmer since he was a child. This spring, Cunneen competed in the U.S. Open Water National Championships in Fort Myers Beach, FL held April 1-3. He placed 22nd in the 7.5k (about 4.7 miles) ocean swim with a time of 1:43.29. Cunneen started his swim career on the MAC swim team at age 7. He swims year-round with the CSP Tideriders and Chaminade High School. In 2021, he placed second in the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 200 freestyle at the Missouri State Championships. Congratulations, Trey! F

April 28 brought a lovely evening for the Election Rooftop Happy Hour at the Downtown Clubhouse. Although the Happy Hour was moved from the Rooftop to the Art Lounge, Members brought their MAC spirit and camaraderie to celebrate election season to the fullest. Members enjoyed appetizers, drink specials, fellowship and live music while mingling with current Governors and learning about the candidates for the 2022 Election. F

Election Night at the Club

The MAC’s 2022 Election to the Board of Governors had seven candidates running to serve the Club. Members gathered at the Downtown Clubhouse to experience the magic of Election Day and the renowned gauntlet. Attendees lined the sides of the gauntlet to shake hands with candidates and fellow voters, a longstanding tradition at the MAC.

After an extraordinary day, Members gathered in the Missouri Room for the Election Night buffet and drinks. Around 7 p.m., the votes were counted. President Minges announced the five newest MAC governors: Tom Dankenbring, Tim Maynard, Jodi Petersen, Gary Sextro and Jeff Wehmer. Thank you to all the candidates who made this election so exciting. A Magical Night AT THE MAC

On Wednesday, May 18, fathers and grandfathers left their homes to escort their daughters and granddaughters to a fairytale evening at the annual FatherDaughter Banquet at the Downtown Clubhouse. The magic night was filled with horse-drawn carriage rides, cocktails and kiddie cocktails, photographs and balloon art in the shape of unicorns. Dinner and dancing rounded out an enchanting night. The iconic FatherDaughter Banquet dates back to the early years of the MAC and has remained a favorite event since then. F

Returns to the MAC

Invite friends, family and coworkers to enjoy one free glass of wine and shop at the Downtown Clubhouse. On Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., vendors will be selling accessories, apparel, beauty and spa gifts, home decor and other whimsical items at the Downtown Clubhouse that will make perfect holiday gifts.

For those who are interested in becoming a vendor, contact MAC Member Lisa York at 618-514-2565 before July 1. The booth fee is $50. F
