Dear Friends, As with every summer, we look forward to seeing the return of friends, most especially after being apart for the majority of last year. In addition to enjoying all that northern Michigan offers this time of year, we are eagerly anticipating the opening of the Offield Family Pavilion in mid-August. Thanks to the generosity of our incredible community and dedicated supporters, the new wing will offer 92 new private patient rooms and a state-of-the-art surgical suite. The new facility will match the quality of care provided at McLaren Northern Michigan, which means it will not only be a better place for patients to recover, it will also be a better place for our dedicated medical staff to practice. Thank you to everyone who made a gift in support of this important project that will have an immeasurable impact on patients, family members and visitors for years to come. In this issue, you’ll learn about the new McLaren Northern Michigan orthopedics practice and meet some of the practitioners who are committed to delivering exceptional care. We are also excited to share that Mako robotic knee replacement surgery is now available. Mako enables a more precise surgical experience for joint replacement. You’ll also read about enhancements to the Cheboygan Campus that were made possible due to gifts through the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation. As always, we extend gratitude to you. Your support makes McLaren Northern Michigan one of the best hospitals in the nation to receive care. Thank you for your commitment, your advocacy, and your confidence.
