Directions included in this brochure use the Holyoke Transportation Center (HTC) on Maple St. as a starting point.

MT. TOM Did you know... that Mt. Tom has 22 miles of hiking trails, including 6.2 miles of the New England National Scenic Trail? The tower at Goat Peak offers great views of the valley and fall hawk watching. Enjoy picnicking, birding, geology and much more in a bio-rich environment covering more than 2000 acres. To get there: Mt. Tom is located on Route 5 between Holyoke and Northampton. For more information: visit mass.gov/dcr/parks/central/mtom.htm or call 413-534-1186.

Bus to Springdale Park, La Finca/ Land Of Providence, and Jones Ferry River Access Center

rowing programs at Holyoke Rows are free? Holyoke Rows runs a middle and high school crew team and offers kayak and rowing summer camps. Adults can participate in rowing classes, group programs, and trips. Visit the boathouse from 9-11am on Saturdays in June and July for Open House, and see the kayaks, sculls, and crew boats! To get there: See busing instructions under La Finca/Land of Providence. Contact Holyoke Rows for information about the afternoon bus service from schools to the river. Bus schedules change depending on whether it is a weekday or weekend, and if it is during the school year or summer months. Be sure to check bus schedules and routes before planning your trip. Pick up bus maps and schedules from the HTC at 206 Maple Street. Learn about bus fares from brochures provided at the HTC and be sure to bring exact change on the bus. Children under 6 do not need to pay a fare!

CROSIER FIELD AND PECK SCHOOLYARD GARDEN (B5) Did you know... that a path connecting Peck School and Holyoke High School was recently transformed into a woodland garden? Also be sure to check out Crosier Field, which has tennis courts and sports fields. To get there: Take bus P20 to the South/Harrison stop and take a right onto Russell Terrace. OR take bus B23 on weekdays to the Beech and Linden stop, and walk across the HHS parking lot to the garden. Please do not visit during school hours.

PULASKI PARK (F2) Did you know...that this park was designed over 100 years ago by the same landscape architect (Frederick Law Olmsted) that designed Central Park in NYC? Pulaski Park is located right downtown, and has benches, playgrounds, and beautiful trees to sit underneath. To get there: Walk north from the HTC to the end of Maple Street, or bike from the HTC across Veterans Park and down Chestnut Street (6 min. walk or 2 min. bike ride).
