Fight #9
Main Screen
Jakdojade treats its Android and iOS users equally: advertisement for everyone!
Well, this is not the most appealing main screen I could imagine…
This screen could definitely be used better. Maybe listing some most popular destinations or lines would be a good idea? Or showing recently searched routes?
vs.
On Android we’ve got a FAB (Floating Action Button) linking to recently searched routes. FAB is indeed an Android pattern, but Material Design states that it should “represent the most common action”. Is history such an action…? Doubt it. #weeklyUXfight #MobeeDick
Navigation Combination of icon and label in the right corner doesn’t fit Human Interface much though.
That’s quite intense CTA. And it doesn’t feel much like iOS‌ What do we have here: faves on top, directions, schedule and no-idea-why-aneye-icon at the bottom.
Such navigation pattern is common neither for Android nor for iOS.
vs.
So called kebab menu leading us to Settings and Profile sections. Although Settings can be somehow hidden, Profile should definitely be more visible. Correctly used FAB searching routes is definitely major action to be performed on this screen. Very nice! đ&#x;‘?

Future function Once again this untypical for iOS usage of icon and label in the navigation bar.
Quick overview of available tickets. Clean, nice design.
Jakdojade.pl enables buying tickets in app for some of the cities. It covers this additional function quite nicely by adding one tab
 to the menu.
vs.
This FAB is not in line with guidelines: not only History of tickets purchases is not a major action here, but also the design of FAB is incorrect, as FAB should be in app accent color.
The design of Ticket section is very similar between two systems, but such solution in this case actually works quite well.

Settings This is sooo not iOS! Why change native patterns for Action Sheets?
vs. Although rather big, Navigate button it somehow slips user attention - almost doesn’t feel clickable.
I miss consistency: are we using icons or labels here? BTW lebels are rather iOS pattern, not Android‌
It seems that Jakdojade.pl uses Floating Action Button rather freely - this time it takes a user to notifications settings. No good!
#weeklyUXfight #MobeeDick
To sum up There is no way to confuse Jakdojade on Android with iOS system. Though we can feel the Human Interface vibe on iOS version, I would rarely called it pure Human Interface design.
>
Exploring Jakdoajde on Android device, we know exactly, that we use a device with Google system. Floating Action Buttons (although not always used correctly), tabs placed at the top of the screen, so-called kebab menu - all of this makes us feel at… Google :)
>
Basically, on Android the design is definitely not perfect, but still - it’s quite good.
Pssst! Jakdojade, you should work a bit on your app performance and reliability, because these two kind of suck (especially for ticket section)…

And the winner is…
…
Take care!
See you next week!
