Welcome to the Issue

Our April Issue Celebrates Creativity Spring is an awakening and transition time on the fashion calendar, a perfect season to highlight and celebrate creativity. It’s a concept we are anchoring in all Modeliste issues, however at a time when the world is experiencing so many challenges, the joys of creativity can drive us, more than ever, to a place of bliss, even if only for a brief instant.

At home, closing your eyes to the rhythm of your favorite song can transport you to a peaceful mindset, while dressing up can give you a much needed boost or make you feel elegant even if you are staying in. Creativity in its many forms can bring about some much needed instant gratification.

Kat Graham is a music artist, actress and producer, best known for her starring role in the hit TV show “The Vampire Diaries”. Alongside her successful acting career, Kat is also a UN Global Women’s Ambassador, Host of Women United Podcast, and has several upcoming projects being released this year. However, this is only the first chapter of this artist’s story—she’s in complete control and ready to show us the story of her life.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in West LA, then in Hollywood, California.

Where do you live now?

I live in Georgia.

What is one thing you miss the most about your hometown?

Absolutely nothing! I love living in the Deep South.

What do you love most about being an actress and a dancer?

I love that I am fortunate enough to have a platform to express myself. From playing different characters to reimagining music through movement, my art has always made me feel like I no longer had any limits.

How did you begin your career?

I began my career at age 5 doing commercials and modeling.

What has been your favorite role so far?

In regard to recent projects, I would say Cut Throat City and playing Julie in Love In The Villa (out this year on Netflix).

What's the hardest thing you've ever had to do in a role?

What's the wildest thing you've ever done in your life?

Everything!!!

What's a TV show you would like to make a cameo in?

OZARK! If you had a podcast, what would it be about?

I do have a podcast! It’s called Women United with Dr. Mindy Pelz where we have empowering conversations about women’s health, wellness and activism. It’s coming in March. I’ve also been finding a home for my podcast on Consciousness with Deepak Chopra.

Favorite dish to cook?

Sweet potato gnocchi in a cinnamon sage butter sauce.

Everything mentally feels hard when you put your truth into it. Physically, I’d have to say running in handcuffs. haha.

I started dancing at around age 4. I continued through age 18 and was backup dancing for different artists a lot. I used to draw my inspiration from Shirley Temple, and then Janet Jackson.

What are you looking forward to in 2022?

I’ll see you soon on Zoom and thank you for everything. I’m with you and you’re with me every step of the way on this wild journey.

What are you excited about the most being Modeliste's next Cover Star?

FASHION TRENDS for SPRING to WEAR NOW

The big boys were feeling sexy, too. Donatella Versace can always be relied upon to inject some wiggle into fashion’s walk, and for spring she embraced thigh-slits, midriffs, chainmail and latex. Ditto Gucci, whose transparent lace mini dresses, latex bustiers, fishnets-and-suspenderbelts and sex-toy accessories explored the “nuances of sensuality” in a blockbuster show in LA. “Seduction, Stripped Down” was the title of Prada’s collection and, true to form, it poked fun at conventional interpretations of allure, exploring corsetry in itchy schoolmarmish wool and offsetting micro hemlines with demure kittenheels. “We thought of words like elegant – but this feels so old-fashioned,” Prada said in the show notes. Sexy it is.

It should be noted that fashion is finally wising up to the fact that sexy comes in all shapes, skin tones and sizes. About time! Models Precious Lee, Alva Claire, Paloma Elsesser and Yumi Nu were among the most in-demand models for spring, bringing some much-needed body diversity to the runways. Meanwhile Indigenous model Quannah Chasinghorse made a splash in her debut season, walking for everyone from Chanel to Prabal Gurung and Gucci.

Q&A Where did you grow up?

I am from Munich, Germany.

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?

Bubbly, Spontaneous, Curious.

Tell us about your recent role in Shattered.

Sky was a wonderful role. She has mastered the art of deception and reveals a flirtatious and loveable side, and later on a rather assertive and aggressive one. She knows how to adapt to any situation she is thrown in and it seems she always finds ways for her to stay in control. That is one of the things that make Sky so interesting, her ability to hop into different roles.

What's one goal you hope to accomplish this year?

I hope to be able to grow as a person through the challenges I undertake, and continue working on my eagerness to acquire a variety of new skills.

What’s been a highlight in your career so far?

To be able to work on a project like Shattered in which I got to portray a very versatile, unique and complex character.

I really enjoyed the deep dive I got to take into her psyche, and all the talented and fascinating people I got to meet on the project.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

To never stop working on yourself. I have made the biggest leaps in my acting, when I truly observed myself, my quirks and habits.

Truly allow yourself to feel your emotions and have empathy for others.

How do you get prepared for your acting roles?

I read the script at least 3 times, do a lot of research (observing, reading, etc), and work with my acting coach, Anthony Meindl. If the role requires a special skill, I do weeks of training and try to become the most authentic version of myself in the role that I can.

What keeps you motivated?

My curiosity. I have an unstoppable curiosity for the world, people, and experiences. Going out of my comfort zone and having the ability to indulge in a variety of experiences keeps me motivated.

If you could act alongside any actor, who would it be?

That is a very difficult question. There are so many actors I admire. I think I would love to play alongside Oscar Isaac one day. I admire his work.

What projects are you currently working on?

In October of 2021, I finished an action movie with Gerald Butler, called “The Plane” which is also an emotional rollercoaster!

Sadly, I don’t think I am allowed to discuss the project I am currently prepping yet, but stay tuned.

What is your dream role?

I do not have a dream role. My dream is to be part of moving projects that evoke discussion, have an impact, or inform the audience.

I currently work a full time job in addition to being an influencer, so my days are definitely hectic! I try to workout every morning before my day starts and get everything done needed for my 9-5. Most days I use my hour for lunch to create content. Not having to go into the office is ideal for me because I utilize every free second I have.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

Don’t let what other people think hold you back, and be confident in your abilities to inspire.

I’m half Australian.

What would you title this chapter in your life?

Growth. I built an entire career for myself this past two years from the ground up.

How did you develop the social media platform you have as an influencer today?

Two years ago my following was 0. I started this account from nothing but the clothes in my closet and my sister taking pictures on my phone. The way I developed it into what it is today was hard work, consistency in posting on as many platforms as possible.

TikTok helped me get my name out there because my videos reached a huge audience.

Another very important aspect to developing a platform in social media is not caring what other people think. Being in this industry, you subject yourself to judgment every single day. Not caring and posting what makes you happy is the best way to succeed. I have learned that if you are confident, WAY less people will question or judge you.

The constant feeling of comparing yourself.

It’s easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to other creators and letting it discourage you.

In what ways do you wish to inspire people through your platform?

I inspire people to try new looks when it comes to fashion and beauty. I show people how to take risks and teach them new techniques. All of this helps individuals become more confident and able to see themselves in a new way!

What's a typical work day like for you?

This ones scary. I work 7:30am-4pm at my corporate job, then I try to get a workout in, ending the day with cooking dinner (and trying not to order in) all while getting my 2 pups out frequently during the day. I also shoot all my content on the weekends now or I request a day off if I book a shoot or need to travel.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

Make sure you really know who you are and what you stand for and value. I think so many people are unhappy in this industry because they get lost and forget who they are trying to please everyone else.

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

Yes!! I’ve started volunteering with ISWMP as a dog rescue transportation driver. Since I'm no longer able to foster since I adopted my last foster haha! It’s very hard to see the dogs in such rough shape but also so rewarding to know that I’m doing something that makes a difference.

What would you title this chapter in your life?

I dont know if I have an exact name for it yet but I really have done a self reflection deep dive over the past few months to really get in touch with the person I want to be and to make sure I inspire people to become their best self as well. I had to re-evaluate the type of content that I was posting because social media can be so misleading of one's life and passions because we are so influenced by what other people are doing. I also started a new job with Veritas, a creative agency based out of Canada and have been working remotely for almost 2months now as an influencer and social media strategist on several large brands.

What inspires you and your career?

I have a great support system around me that always pushes me to reach the goals that I set for myself and helps me stay accountable with my values, my physical and mental health, and my attitude. I think if you want to set yourself up for greatness you need to surround yourself with great people.

What's the biggest challenge you come across as an influencer?

To really hold myself accountable and think about my intentions vs. impact on the types of things I post. Social media is one of the leading causes of mental health and I would never want to be someone who contributes to anyone's mental health struggles. You have to really think “Will this post inspire someone” or “Will this post present a false sense of reality that could negatively impact someone.”

In what ways do you wish to inspire people through your platform?

I like to post things that I love and always include my hobbies and people I care about.

I’ve really tried to make a push of posting things that aren’t just myself.

What's at the top of your bucket list for 2022?

I’m sticking with the same thing I've had at the top for the last 3 years and that's to travel, but especially I'm dying to go to Italy or Greece!

Pick a max of 3 things you truly love when you’re first starting - (fashion, beauty, music, acting, modeling, dancing, directing, etc.) and stick with those so you don’t spread yourself too thin. Your audience can then develop a sense of who you are and get to know YOU! Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

My first mixtape ‘Cosmic Love’ just dropped on Feb. 11th this year and I worked so hard on it. I love that project so much, but now I’m writing and recording all new stuff.

I’m obviously still posting on YouTube and Tiktok, but I’ll have a new collaborative song dropping this March ’22 that I’m super excited about!

I get inspired to write my music through experiences and feelings, or assuming how I would feel in a future situation or a made up one. My fashion/style is inspired by my role models, and just what makes me feel sexy, what compliments my body. My makeup looks are inspired by learning how to enhance my natural God given features or completely changing my look completely - I love extremes.

Consistency. I 100% believe that if you love what you do and are consistently creating what you love, that will resonate with people no matter what. You have to be tenacious and determined.

What's the biggest challenge you come across as an influencer?

Self-doubt and self hate. There was a point where everything I did made me cringe or it was hard to watch footage back/look at photos of myself, but I learned that only put me in my own way of success and achievements.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I don’t really like to travel. I am the most focused and can achieve goals way more efficiently and more fluid when I am at one home base.

What's a typical work day like for you?

Most days consist of me sitting at my computer for hours, responding to emails, going over contracts, photo and video editing etc…. Usually I have one or two days a week where I focus on shooting content, and might have an event to attend.

However, most work days are me in sweats working from my laptop.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

There’s room for everyone! The best advice I can give someone is to find your niche and be consistent. Don’t get too caught up in the number of followers you have. With social media, it’s quality over quantity.

Many brands are now looking to work with creators that have a smaller following, but higher engagement. Focus on the following you do have. If you are consistent with creating quality content that feels good to you, the rest will follow.

What would you title this chapter in your life?

The Chapter of Growth! I am getting married in April of 2022, have reached my goal of becoming a content creator full time, and am learning so much about myself in the process. I feel like I am slowly growing into the woman I have wanted to become for so long.

What inspires you and your career?

Seeing so many incredible women create multi-million dollar brands and companies!

Showing myself and other women what’s possible if you do the work, and believe in what you bring to the table. Seeing friends of mine in the industry have an idea, find a way to make it happen, and refuse to take “No” for an answer. It’s so powerful and inspiring. It shows me there’s no reason why I can’t do the same.

How did you develop the social media platform you have as an influencer today?

I worked for a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon for 6 years before becoming a content creator. I loved the world of cosmetics, and felt like no one on social media wanted to talk about things like Botox, Laser, and/or filler. There’s so much false information on the internet, that I wanted to clear some of that up and show up for women who wanted to learn about these beauty hacks. For some reason, it’s a topic most women don’t want to talk about. It was a very slow process, but once I started posting quality content consistently, people began to follow!

What's the biggest challenge you come across as an influencer?

For me, it’s having to rely on myself for everything. I am my own manager, accountant, photographer, editor, agent, publicist, all while trying to stay consistently creative and deliver high-value content. I am slowly working towards building a team to help me out. However, juggling all of those roles can become overwhelming.

In what ways do you wish to inspire people through your platform?

I really want to be a voice of reality and authenticity. I want my community to understand that most of what you see on social media is not real. I love sharing beauty tips and tricks to help empower women to look and feel their best. I also love to be raw and transparent. I try to open up about my own insecurities and struggles. In doing so, I hope I can inspire confidence and self love in other women.

What's at the top of your bucket list for 2022?

I really want to learn how to ride horses! I have ridden a little, but never took the time to take lessons. It’s been a goal of mine for a long time, and I’m determined to make it happen in 2022!

What's a trend that never goes out of style in your life?

High waisted jeans! I don’t think I can ever go back to low rise!

I am currently working on launching something of my own soon! Stay tuned!

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

Before working in the Beauty Industry, I was a professional backup dancer. I lived in New York for 5 years while dancing for all different kinds of artists. My dream was to tour with Janet Jackson, however I ended up getting a terrible back injury that ended my dance career when I was about 25.

Biggest highlight in your career?

September 2021 was the first month where I started making more as a content creator than I had made in my previous career. That was a huge moment for me.

What would you like to say to your fans?

I am so grateful for my community! If it weren’t for them, none of this would be possible. I often get caught up in comparing myself to other influencers, and at times start to take a ride on the self doubt train.

What's a typical work day like for you?

I don’t think you can use the word typical in my industry, lol. But if it’s a set day, I leave about an hour early before I have to be there. I like to take the time while driving to pray and have a deep conversation with God. If I still have time I put an audio book or podcast on, this really helps set the tone for my day. Since every client is different, I usually have about an hour or two for makeup and, after I’m finished, I stay on set for touch ups or makeup changes. Set days can be anywhere from 8-14 hours, and I love how every day is so different.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

This saying is 100% what I identify with: “Work ethic will always outweigh talent.”

Put in your 10,000 hours, collaborate, network, be kind to everyone, grow as much as you can by studying techniques and trying new products, do your best not to compare, and always stay true to yourself.

Yes, I am so excited that in the next coming months I’ll be launching a new masterclass course.

That experience made me realize that anything is truly possible; it diminished my limiting beliefs. After that, I was blessed enough to do a wedding in Qatar and I was treated like royalty. In what ways do you wish to inspire people through your platform?

I want to inspire people to embrace who they are, to trust themselves, and to give themselves grace. As the solo-date queen, I also hope to inspire women to spend quality time alone, treating themselves, having quiet moments of peace & reflection. There is something really powerful to me about a woman who is independent and knows & loves herself. She just glows.

The Gift of Simplicity.

What inspires you and your career?

I’m very inspired by my audience & other creators that I follow. Also, since I was a child, I’ve looked up to my grandfather and admired the way he conducts his business.

Though we are in completely different fields, him in oil and myself in social media, I’ve learned so much by simply observing him my whole life. My other sources of inspiration are my boyfriend, traveling, fashion, modern art, & modern American literature.

How did you develop the social media platform you have as an influencer today?

I worked every day to create content on the platforms I enjoy to find the ones that work best for me. Being an influencer oftentimes means experimenting with content, learning the ins-and-outs of new social media platforms, and creating opportunities for yourself outside of social media (like creating a fashion label, an app, or writing a book, for example). It all takes a lot of work, a lot of research and a self-starter attitude.

Over the course of a few years, I began to find my groove, and I love the little online community I’ve built across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, & my podcast, Note to Self by Payton Sartain.

What's the biggest challenge you come across as an influencer?

As much as it may not seem so, being an influencer can be very lonely and feel anticlimactic. Most of the time, it feels like you’re constantly working with no “congratulations,” or “good job,” or promotion at the end of the day.

What's at the top of your bucket list for 2022?

I want to go on a big, romantic trip with my boyfriend, Joe, this year. Joe is a professional baseball player (for the Washington Nationals: Go Nats!) and he works really hard during the season, from February through October. He’s been committed to baseball for his whole life, and because of that, has yet to travel to Europe. I’m hoping to take him to Italy (my favorite) at the end of the 2022 season, and, of course, take the people who follow me along with us. It’ll be a nice treat for us both after a long season.

What's a trend that never goes out of style in your life?

Minimalism. In life, in style, in the home.

Oh, easy: Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, MAC Lip Liner in the color “Soar,” & Buxom lip glass in the color “Dolly.”

What's a typical work day like for you?

Since moving to Dallas two months ago, I’ve gotten better at working by a set schedule. I lived in Los Angeles for nearly 6 years prior, and every day was so different there! Now, I have a steady routine, which is something I’ve loved about moving somewhere more quiet. I usually get up around 8am and prep for the day, hydrate, moisturize, & caffeinate. I take a few hours in the morning to work on the computer, answering emails, editing, turning in content for partnerships, and planning upcoming work. I break for a workout & lunch around noon. Then, I use the afternoon for shooting content, running errands or taking meetings. Because I’ve had a real problem with overworking myself since starting this job, I try to stop working around 6-7pm, though that doesn’t always happen. I usually post content in the evening, so even if I’m not “working,” I’m still online, posting, engaging, and supporting my friends & favorite creators.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

Don’t wait for permission or validation or direction from others! Just start creating, learn as much as you can (Google, Pinterest, Podcasts & YouTube are my favorite resources for research), and be consistent.

Once you start, you can learn as you go, oftentimes by making mistakes (mistakes are KEY). Just get yourself into the arena, and you’ll learn to figure things out on the fly.

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

I can’t share exact details quite yet, but there are very exciting things happening with my podcast in 2022. Podcasting has quickly become my favorite way to connect with my audience and it makes me so happy that they enjoy it, too. Also, keep an eye out for a couple of capsule collections with my favorite brands this year. A dream!

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

Before being an influencer was a career option, I studied Political Science at Texas A&M University in preparation for attending law school. I have a degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. But, after starting a fashion blog in college, and as social media began to develop & create major career opportunities, I took the risk to pursue being an influencer, and the rest is history. I’d still love to use my degree in a meaningful way someday! We’ll see.

Biggest highlight in your career?

It’s difficult to narrow this down! I feel like I’ve really come into my own lately, as far as work goes, and I’ve had a few “pinch me” moments in the last year or so. One huge accomplishment was signing with my current management team, The Digital Brand Architects. When I first started my social media journey, 6 years ago, I looked up to many of the influencers who were signed with DBA, and it seemed extremely unrealistic to me that I would ever be able to join their ranks. I’m proud to say that I’m represented by the best in the business and in the mix with top-tier influencers and creators. I take it as a huge, validating step that I’m moving in the right direction.

What would you title this chapter in your life?

“The Next Chapter” What inspires you and your career?

Having the opportunity to make a living off of being creative is a blessing in itself.

The fact that so many people find value in my work is largely what motivates me to have faith in myself and my creative work.

I love being able to express myself through creating content and, for me, it’s an outlet.

I’m also very determined to live my life doing something I love and am committed to that mindset. To me, there’s no other way to go through life besides to whole-heartedly enjoy it.

How did you develop the social media platform you have as an influencer today?

It actually started by chance! My parents were super strict with me, so I wasn’t really allowed to use social media until I turned 18. Once I did, my boyfriend at the time would help me take photos and soon after, I had brands reaching out to me to give me products for free to shoot in. Over time, I started getting more intentional with creating content and began to monetize it. I would create mood boards that resonated with what I wanted to portray in that specific period of time, worked collaboratively with photographers to get my name out there, and constantly networked with people in the industry I wanted to become a part of.

I made some lifelong friends from those interactions and continue to. Connections are everything!

What's the biggest challenge you come across as an influencer?

One of the biggest challenges is probably maintaining my motivation to be creative.

Like everyone else, I have rough days, and 128 MODELISTE | APRIL 2022

when your work consists of always needing your best and most motivated self and constantly being in front of a camera, it can put a lot of pressure on you to always be “ok." I find that dedicated me-time and intentional self-love practices go a long way.

For me, that consists of slow mornings, nutritious food, being gentle with myself, occupied time for little to no stimulation, and morning and nighttime routines to start my day and then wind down.

manager, you have an obligation to now constantly network, market yourself, keep up with emails and outreach and always be doing something towards the betterment of your career. This can be applied to most, if not all, freelancers. Specifically touching on modeling, just aim to be happy and healthy! You’ll radiate happiness and that is beautiful. There’s so many widely accepted forms of beauty that I’d advise not to stress the old beauty standards anymore.

In what ways do you wish to inspire people through your platform?

With the creative work that I put my heart into, I hope to evoke emotion and to stress an appreciation for self-love, the aesthetic of nature, beautiful views, architecture, stylish clothes and accessories in curated, dreamy lifestyle content. With my more meaningful content like my collaboration with Flamebearers, a Harvard University Olympic/Paralympic podcast, UnitedWeDream for their Disinformation awareness campaign regarding mailin-ballots, or FL Rising, a nonprofit organization, for their Latinas En Marcha Pledge to Vote campaign, I hope to inspire my audience to take note of things going on in the world around them and to use their voice and their own influence to make changes in the world.

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

Yes a few! I just recently went to LA for the Pura Vida Bracelets x Disney Princesses campaign which was super exciting to be chosen for as Jasmine. I also just completed a collaboration with Hulu and Bustle for Season 2 of their show Dollface, which was a fun partnership. Right now, I’m working on a project with Flamebearers to share the message and motivations of some of the inspirational and diverse women participating in the Olympics and Paralympics.

What's at the top of your bucket list for 2022?

Visit the opposite side of the world finally.

What's a trend that never goes out of style in your life?

Long hair, if that’s a trend. I’ll probably always have long hair.

Three beauty products you cannot live without?

My Supergoop Glow sunscreen, lip oil, Gisou hair oil.

What's a typical work day like for you?

I live far from most in-person work or photoshoots that I have, so when I have either of those, my days consist of packing my schedule into a few days, so I can make the most of my trip. It’ll start with an early morning, stopping at showrooms, coffee meetings, phone meetings while driving, the work itself and indefinitely, not spending the night at home. Sometimes, I’ll schedule in a workout since I’m already up and going! My work days either consist of staying sedentary most of the day, switching between working on my phone to laptop, editing and answering emails, or a super packed schedule; there’s rarely an in-between. I enjoy both though, but am more so just eager to be busy!

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

Understand that there aren’t really any “off-days.” Once you make yourself your business, your brand, and become your own

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I’m actively pursuing my graduate degree in Neuroscience. I graduated with my B.S. in Neuroscience & Behavior this past May and now am applying to a post baccalaureate training program to do paid research before applying to graduate programs. The two I have in mind would earn me my Doctoral degree with a Master’s along the way!

Biggest highlight in your career?

A few big highlights included getting booked for an Abercrombie campaign a few years ago - this felt like a HUGE win to my younger self. Also, working with Pura Vida Bracelets traveling to gorgeous places like St. Kitts, Monterrey & LA, and near home in Miami, and then seeing myself in their store. This felt so rewarding and validating that what I’m doing each day is paying off and bringing me these opportunities. Two of the campaigns I worked on with Pura Vida were for Disney Mickey & Friends and then Disney Princesses. It was such an honor being chosen for those!

Thank you! Thank you for your support and seeing the value in my work! My supporters are what largely makes this possible and rewarding. I’m especially grateful for the ones who have been following my journey for years now, the ones who have seen the tragedy I’ve been through and how I pushed past the obstacles that followed; and the people I’ve inspired in doing so and the pure-hearted souls that bother to tell me I’ve had a positive impact on their lives. Tell us about yourself!

My name is Erika Costell and I am from Temperance, Michigan! I started modeling at the age of 16 which eventually led me to Los Angeles. Once I got to LA I realized I wanted to be more than just a model.

Through networking in 2015, I ended up becoming the first employee of one of the very first content houses (Team 10).

A couple years later in 2017, I ended up becoming a talent member of that same content house. I grew 1M followers overnight, and have been learning and navigating this industry ever since.

I don’t think I've ever really been able to define my career since I've gained an audience on social media. It started as modeling, then it went into a business, then I was an everyday vlogger, next I went into music, and then back to modeling. Now my main focus is putting my energy into my businesses and things I am passionate about while maintaining a platform that I'm proud of.

Describe yourself in three words.

Loyal, Outgoing, and Resilient.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

It depends on the platform!

-Instagram is more day to day behind the scenes, modeling, lifestyle, and curated photos.

-TikTok is a more carefree and random side of me.

-YouTube is where you can meet my friends/family and overall see a little bit of everything I’ve done so far throughout my career on social media!

Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today?

What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless?

The very beginning of my career on social media was intense. I grew 1M followers in 24 hours on YouTube and I really had no idea what the hell I was doing. I knew from my experience working the backend of a content house what was missing in the market at that time, and I also knew consistency was key. I made vlogging 144 MODELISTE | APRIL 2022

my entire life for a year straight. Living everyday trying to outdo myself from the day before was really hard on my mental health, self esteem, and I felt like I was losing myself along with my sense of reality.

I will forever be grateful for that season of my life, but looking back now I wish I would have stepped out of my own head sooner. Realizing numbers on social media did not define me as a person or my success is what helped me explore my potential further and get back to doing more things I truly love and am passionate about.

The part that seems seamless to me is the overall creating and the creative direction!

I absolutely love seeing my ideas come to life whether that be on social media or in business, and for me that’s what comes naturally.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I never planned on being an influencer.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

I hope to continue creating content that inspires girls to be whatever they want to be, own who they are, and never stray away from a dream because of what other people say or think. I hope to create a group of boss bitches within my platform who can turn to each other for inspiration, confidence, friendship, and a sense of safety on all platforms.

What and who inspires you most? Why? My Mom and my Grandma. They have both overcome so many things in life with nothing but grace and positivity. They are both the reason for me becoming the strong independent woman I’ve always wanted to be.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform?

I hope to just live as an example through my own story. At the end of the day I’m just a normal girl from Michigan. When I started modeling there was no Instagram or TikTok…if I can make it here, you can too!

Who are your favorite content creators?

I love Lauryn Bosstick! I learn a LOT from her platforms. She does an incredible job of owning who she is and bringing her community together!

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

I can’t share too much, but yes! Modeling was my first love so I’m really excited to be coming back to that more full time!

I am also working on many new things in categories of the industry I have not explored yet, and will finally be able to

share a little bit about one of the businesses I have been working on over the past two years!

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without?

111Skin sheet masks! (The Y Theorem Bio Cellulose is my fave especially while traveling.)

What was your favorite part of staying at Garza Blanca Cancun? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit?

Everything about Garza Blanca Cancun is beautiful! My favorite part of the stay was when Mackinley and I went kayaking. (and of course the endless spicy margaritas, lol) I would recommend the beach service and any of the restaurants to someone who is visiting!

What are you looking forward to most in 2022?

Entering and exploring new parts of the industry, new items coming to Akire Sport, traveling with my friends, and continuing to conserve my energy & peace.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

Be consistent, lean into your individuality, be careful who you surround yourself with, remember it’s okay to say no to avoid burnout, put your mental health above everything else, accept and own rejection and do not give up.

What would you like to say to your fans?

I cannot thank y’all enough for all the support you have shown me over these last few years. It has been so amazing to watch you guys grow and evolve with me. I cannot wait to be able to see you in person again I would not be where I am without you. I LOVE YOU!!!

Tell us about yourself!

I’m originally from Dallas, Texas. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting a week after graduating high school and never looked back. My career has taken me all over the world and has blessed me with diverse opportunities- like with Modeliste!

I’m currently a producer on a project in development that I’m very excited to share soon! I have a new show “The Orville” coming out in March on Hulu. I’m making my own unique dream come true one day at a time.

Driven, Strong, Genuine as hell.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

My life in real time! Sometimes I’m on set and working everyday. Sometimes on my time off, I travel or take on other little projects I’m passionate about. I have a multi-faceted career and life. So follow the journey with me!!

Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today?

What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless?

I didn’t think of my platform as a process, I just have always liked sharing my life with my fans and friends. Over time, my platform has gotten bigger because of the work I’ve accomplished. Which is a bonus!

Although the challenges of being more in the public eye comes with a lot of criticism.

It’s a challenge sometimes to not listen to people that judge, but overall I’ve come to realize no matter what I do, there will be people that love you and hate you. I do my best to stay true to myself and what makes me happy, and that’s what matters.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I’m actually deaf in my left ear, which I always forget people don’t know. It’s been since I was a baby so I don’t remember ever hearing in both ears. It mainly comes up on dates or big dinners with friends if I get stuck sitting on my wrong side, lol.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

I want to be the lead actress in a movie that’s nominated for the Oscars. I feel like my talent has grown over the years and people only see the roles that are aired on different platforms, but they don’t see the hustle and the drive and talent behind closed doors. I want to act in a role where people see that incredible actress that I’ve grown to be. Hopefully I’ll win the Oscar myself as well.

What and who inspires you most? Why? My inspiration is constantly changing and growing. I find inspiration in people I meet on set and people I’ve worked with. Recently, I’ve been very inspired by Madonna. Since I’m up for her new biopic, I’ve been studying her and her career which I’ve found to be very uplifting in individuality and strength that I admire. I feel like the more I grow into who I want to become, even with the challenges, is constantly bringing up diverse things to think about in life that gives me inspiration.

BUT Hannah Montana was my first inspiration to be on TV or be a performer.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform?

I want people to see a strong and talented individual who is not afraid to pave her own path.

Who are your favorite content creators?

I don't have any, I don’t think about it as content. I look up to people who are themselves and show their artistic individuality on their platform in a genuine way.

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

Yes! I have a show coming out unlike anything I’ve done or that’s been seen by the public. The Orville is coming to Hulu in March. Also, I’m creating/developing a project that is based off a book I read during quarantine and brought to Universal Studios. Very excited to share more when I can.

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without?

My country Dalmatian spotted cowboy boots that have been in my family for years.

They’re falling apart but still my favorite pair of boots. My high school prom dress that’s bright pink and iridescent sequins, lol! You’d be surprised how many times I’ve worn it since. It’s the perfect out there party outfit. My low-rise denim jeans with chains on the side. They’re unique and I wear them with everything from @ebdenim.

Essential product in your beauty routine?

Believe it or not- Vitamin E Oil. I have dry skin and have tried every moisturizer out there, but sometimes plain Vitamin E oil is the only thing that works.

What are you looking forward to most in 2022?

I’m looking forward to my new show being brought to life so everyone can see what I’ve been working on and my passion project. Also, I’m looking forward to new opportunities and being open to different aspects of life I may have been shut off from in the past. The world is my oyster!

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

It’s cliche but, ‘Be You’!!! People try hard to fit into other people’s molds and meet expectations. You’ll be the best and create your own destiny by being true to yourself.

I’m a Canadian living in New York working as a content creator and making the most of everything the city has to offer.

Describe yourself in three words.

Curious, Determined and Relaxed.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

My daily outfits, skincare and beauty routine, and my life in New York city - from where I go out, favorite restaurants and cafes, to my little apartment in downtown Manhattan. I’m big on less is more and I think this shines through all of my content, especially when it comes to beauty and fashion.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I was the biggest tomboy growing up.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

To contribute to the improvement of the fashion industry and its impact on the planet. My goal is to help influence slow fashion, a cyclical industry, and to partner with and promote ethically sustainable brands.

What and who inspires you most? Why? I think I’m inspired most by the good will of others. There's nothing more motivating than seeing other people achieve great things and accomplish change.

I think anyone who has a voice and the ability to reach a population of people should use this positively.

What and who inspires you the most?

Why? Throughout my childhood my mother has been an example of overcoming, of falling and getting up as many times as necessary, so she is my inspiration.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform?

On my platform I always like to convey freedom, self-love and that the sky is the limit. Everything you set out to do can be achieved.

My name is Luana Barron, I am from Peru. I am a woman who encourages empowerment in women. Also a creator of content in social networks of lifestyle, fashion, skincare, travel and sports. I am the founder of the clothing brand @betweenus_pe. During these last years my career has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally in an incredible way.

Describe yourself in three words.

Authentic, Sociable and Constant.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

You will always be able to find everything on my platform. Starting by encouraging the empowerment of women as well as sharing lifestyle, vlogs, travel, fashion, skincare and beauty tips.

Can you share information about the process of creating the platform you have today? What challenges did you overcome and what part seemed perfect?

The process is long, you have to be constant to connect with your followers and get them to trust your content and what you share, in addition to creating important content and recreation for them. The biggest challenge was learning to love and accept myself as I am, to love every part of my body.

Nobody is perfect, we always try to show the best of ourselves, but the reality is that we are all human beings with feelings and we are always trying to be better people.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

In reality, I have a large community that I feel loves me and likes what I do, that celebrates each of my triumphs, so I also know that they expect a lot from me.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

One of my goals is to internationalize my clothing brand @betweenus_pe, so that people can feel truly unique with each piece.

Also one of my goals is to be able to go around the world.

Yes, for this 2022 I have many beautiful projects, which I still can't reveal much but I can anticipate that new collaborations are coming with some brands that I love!

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without?

The basics!! I feel that they are the perfect complement to put together a look. An oversize blue jean, a blazer and a basic top.

Essential product in your beauty routine?

If we talk about makeup, I can never miss a mascara to enhance the look and if we talk about skincare, the sunscreen - it is important to take care of our face.

What was your favorite part of staying at Garza Blanca Cancun? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit?

I really love everything! From the moment we arrived we were received in the best way.

The attention is incredible and they are super attentive. There are many activities to do there, the beach is beautiful and you can do various water sports and enjoy the delicious restaurants.

What are you looking forward to most in 2022?

First, thank you for all of 2021, and this 2022 continue in the search for support to create a shelter or an NGO to help abandoned puppies.

What advice would you give to someone who aspires to have a career like yours?

Be authentic and constant. That you take risks, it is not easy but if you are constant you will go far and the best thing is that you will enjoy the process.

What would you like to say to your fans?

Thank you for all the love, support and for being part of my day to day! They always motivate me and I want to thank them also for helping to grow this community together that allows us to help many in self-love.

Tell us about yourself!

Hi, my name is Mackinley and I’m from Arvada, Colorado! I feel like I’ve always been a free spirit when it comes to careers. I have a long history in the modeling industry.

Social media influencing comes naturally due to my time in front of the camera and my knowledge of what brands are looking for.

I am a full-time university student with one year left until graduation.

Describe yourself in three words.

If I were to describe myself in three words it would be: Funny, Sensitive, and Loyal.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

When people look at my social media platforms, I would expect them to see a normal girl. I’ve always thought showing the real you on social media is more relatable to viewers.

Can you share information about the process of creating the platform you have today? What challenges did you overcome and what part seemed perfect?

My platform was a slow grower. I started my account around December 2012. I think what helped me the most was accounts with a lot of followers would tag me in photos. Then more and more people started following. I think the challenges I’ve overcome with my platform was trying to create my own identity through it. It felt like I needed to give people a reason to follow me. But I’ve overcome that self-placed expectation and allowed myself to use my platform to express what I like.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I think people would be surprised to know that I’m quite shy when it comes to social media. I think you’ll only find one video of me talking on Instagram. I definitely strive to be more open on social media, but it can be a judgmental place.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

I have a lot of goals, but I think my most important and hopefully attainable goal is to use my platform for something continually positive.

Why? My parents are the people who inspire me the most. The life they have set up for themselves and for their children is what I want to do. They seem to have knowledge about everything. I’m

trying to learn the best I can from them to make the right decisions moving forward in my life.

As an influencer I want to influence people to let down that perfect persona you find all over social media.

Who are your favorite content creators?

I really like Remi Bader on TikTok. She’s known for her “realistic hauls”, she showcases a normal body type and there’s just something really refreshing about how she goes about influencing and social media. It's real.

Are you working on any exciting projects that you can share?

Not at the moment!

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without?

It's winter here in NYC, so the first pick would have to be my big winter jacket. I spend a lot of time at home in front of the computer, so my next must have is my UGG robe. The last pick is my vintage Gucci purse, she’s so cute!

I have super dry skin, so Weleda Skin Food is my savior.

What was your favorite part of staying at Garza Blanca Cancun? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit?

My favorite part of staying at Garza Blanca Cancun would have to be the views from the hotel room and the food options. The restaurants were to die for and waking up and seeing the gorgeous swimming pools and ocean was beyond amazing!

What are you looking forward to most in 2022?

There’s nothing more to hope for than a post Covid world. It might not happen anytime soon, but we’ll get there together.

What advice would you give to someone who aspires to have a career like yours?

I think the best piece of advice for anyone trying something new and out of their comfort zone is patience and being able to admit you don’t know it all.

What would you like to say to your fans?

“Hi, remember to take deep breaths… you don’t need to have it all figured out!”

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I love being outside, camping, and spending time off of my phone painting or connecting with people. Being in the moment! I try to keep a balance.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

I absolutely love painting and modeling before anything else. I’d love to see my paintings on display in a gallery and I’d love to land big campaigns with Dior, Versace, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and with my friends at Chanel!

What and who inspires you the most?

Why? Nature and my family. No matter how I’m feeling in life or what I’m going through in life, I can go on a hike, go to the beach, and talk to my family about how I’m feeling.

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Daniela Legarda. I am a social media content creator, singer, philanthropist and CEO of my businesses. I was born in Colombia, but moved to the United States at the very young age of 4 years old. I was raised in an immigrant family, which I truly feel is the reason I am the woman I am today. My parents always taught my siblings and I that no dream is too big.

That anything we set our mind to as long as we do it with love and passion, we can accomplish. I am a very goal oriented person. From a young age I have always strived for greatness and wanted more. At just the age of 25, I have written my book called “Sin Limites” (Limitless). I have my own show on MTV Prime and Amazon Prime called “Latin Flow.” I have built my own foundation in Bogota, Colombia, and I have a clothing line, ‘Shop Legarda' alongside my sister, Maria.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

People can expect to see a real genuine person on my social media. I try my hardest to be the best possible influence on my followers. I don’t like to show a fake “perfect” life, because that truly isn’t a reality. I love to share my ups and downs with my followers. I talk openly about my struggles just like I love to share my happiness as well. I aspire to use my platform as a way to connect with my audience and let them know that their feelings are valid. That mental health awareness is real, and that sometimes it's okay to not be okay. I share a lot of beauty, lifestyle, comedy and family on my platforms. I am a very family oriented person so people see a lot of my family on my social media including my grandma!

Sometimes my parents and my grandma even have more fans! Lol What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless?

I feel like I have built a very solid fanbase with my audience and that's been from how real I have shown my life. From sharing my darkest moments to my most beautiful moments. I started off with YouTube in 2018 210 MODELISTE | APRIL 2022

doing vlogs and challenges. People really loved me because I just really let people into my personal life. I then started doing comedy sketches on Instagram and it really took off pretty quick. I feel like I was very unique in my industry because not many people would let the public into their lives like I did. I had to overcome a lot of challenges with my career, but the biggest one that it always came down to was the bullying. I was constantly being bullied over my physical appearance. I was constantly being called fat and it brought out insecurities, from men I didn't even know existed. But at the end, it came down to knowing that these people that sit around a computer and criticize don't do it because of you, they do it because they are unhappy with themselves. I had to understand it wasn’t my fault, it was theirs. And once I did, I couldn't take anything to heart. I knew that if I did everything with love, no one could tell me otherwise. Something that came very seamless to me in my career was my way of talking and communicating with people through a camera. I was a natural - since I was little I always loved being in front of the camera. The connection with my fans came automatically. One thing I’ve learned is that although you’re being watched through a screen, the authenticity and realness shows.

If you aren’t being real, people will be able to tell. Be real and be yourself and you will see the amount of love and support you receive back.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

A lot of people would be surprised to know I wrote a book at such a young age. I wrote it on my own with no ghost writer. The thing is, when you are a social media influencer, people kind of just expect you to be “dumb” right off the top, but that isn’t true. The thing is… it's called the entertainment INDUSTRY for a reason. It's a business!

You have to be smart and driven to make it in this industry. I graduated from Georgia State University with a double major in Business Hospitality and Sociology. I loved school and I loved to study and learn.

Something else that really surprises people is when I tell them I have my own foundation. I created a foundation in one of the poorest towns in Bogota, Colombia for kids that come from broken homes.

With my foundation, I created a studio that the kids can go to after school where they recieve voice lessons, acting, dance, and art classes. I always believed that the arts and exploring your creativity is extremely important, therefore I wanted to give these kids an opportunity to explore their creative talents and to dream. Many of these kids that come from this town and these homes don't even have the opportunity to dream.

We also provide therapy for the kids and their parents. Mental health is something that I believe is important for everyone.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

A big goal in my career I wish to accomplish one day is to be able to help my parents retire. I am such a hard worker and I am always coming up with new business ideas, but the one I am currently working on, I am doing it alongside my mom. My parents have given me everything in life and I dream of them being able to retire from their field which is the restoration industry, and be able to work in something they are truly passionate about.

What and who inspires you the most?

Why? The people that most inspire me in my life are my family. I know that may sound cliche but it's true. My family is my everything.

Each family member has their own way of inspiring me. My parents are one of my biggest inspirations because they came to the US with very little money and without speaking the language. And although they didn’t have money, we never needed anything. I had very little but it always felt like I had so much. My parents are the reason I am who I am today because they always taught my siblings and I to dream.

My parents are also completely self made.

After 2 years of being in the US, they started their own company and went from lower class to upper class. My older brother Fabio is also a huge inspiration to me. My brother passed away three years ago and he has taught me so much. He is the one who got me into the entertainment industry. He opened up those doors for my family. His biggest dream was to be a reggaeton artist, which he succeeded at. He was the person I always went to because he understood what I was going through with my doubts and fears in this industry. And after he passed away was when I was inspired to do more for my community, and that is why I built the Legarda Foundation. Because I wanted to give back. I knew I had lost one life, but I could save thousands more.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform?

Daniela: I hope to influence people through my platform by openly talking about the real things that go on in my life and sharing them with people. I share my accomplishments but I also share my lows with the world.

After I lost my brother, I knew I had to use my platform to make a difference. I share a lot though my grief process because I know what I am going through and so can so many others. Especially with social media nowadays, how much it affects peoples lives when they compare themselves to others.

At the end of the day, social media is filled with people's highlight reels, and that is why I strive to share my ups and downs. I share my progress to be able to inspire those who follow me because, at the end of the day, I am human just like the people who follow me.

Who are your favorite content creators?

I have so many content creators I follow, but I'd say my favorite ones are @GaryVee and @Charlie. They are both two very different content creators, but they both have so much that I admire. Starting with Gary Vee, I love to follow his content because he has taught me how to really make a business out of my platform. You see the problem is that sometimes influencers receive followers and money and they think they are unstoppable.

They think it will last forever, and that is not always the case. It's called the entertainment INDUSTRY for a reason, because at the end of the day it is all a business and you have to be smart and move like a business person. Gary Vee has really inspired me to explore my business side and has been a huge motivation of mine to not listen to what people say or think about me and to go after it. That saying, “there isn’t enough time,” is just an excuse! Make it happen!

And Charlie on the other hand has really taught me two very valuable things… 1)the importance of giving back, and 2) power of manifestation. I can make anything I want a reality. No dream is too big. I found out about Charlie through a podcast I watched when he was invited to Logan Paul's podcast.

Lets just say, I was so inspired by his words and wisdom that the second I finished watching it I booked a one way flight to Los Angeles. I finally made it from Atlanta to Los Angeles which I always wanted to do but had fear holding me back. I love to follow content creators that I can learn from. At the end of the day, knowledge is our greatest tool.

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

Yes I am! I am so work driven that I am always working on something! I am currently working on a new urban streetwear clothing line of mine that is going to come out this summer 2022. It goes beyond just clothes, its clothes with a positive message. Clothes that when you wear them you feel good. I am also working on expanding my foundation ( The Legarda Foundation) and helping more and more kids and families in need. I am also currently working on a second edition of my book, “Sin Limites'' and working on bringing out the English version since it has been so highly requested! I also have a couple other projects that hopefully will soon come to light.

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without?

Three items in my closet I cannot live without are: an oversized hoodie, white Nike Air Force 1s, and socks to match my outfit.

A lot of time people overlook the socks but honestly my socks always have to match the fit!

Three essential products in my beauty routine are: face wash, sunblock, and face lotion! I feel the most important part of your beauty routine is taking care of your skin to get that natural glow!

What was your favorite part of staying at Prince Waikiki? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit?

It's hard to narrow down my favorite parts of my stay at Prince Waikiki! I loved it all! But I absolutely loved the pool deck!

It was beautiful and relaxing. I definitely recommend the ocean view rooms there and their delicious Acai bowls for breakfast!

What are you looking forward to most in 2022?

I have so much to look forward to in 2022.

I feel like every day on this earth is such a blessing and I am always grateful. I look forward to working on my dreams everyday, I look forward to expanding my businesses, growing as a person, exploring my creativity and traveling to new beautiful locations.

I love learning from other cultures and traveling is definitely a passion of mine.

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

My advice is to always do everything with love! It doesn’t matter what it is you want to do, but as long as you do it with passion and love and you dedicate the time to it, you will be successful. Life is too short to do something that doesn't make you happy.

If you see someone else who has done it, you absolutely can do it as well. Just please always stay true to yourself. Be authentic and be YOU. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! You got this.

Maria Legarda is taking on the industry by storm in a major way! This bilingual beauty packs a tumultuous punch as she wows us with her many talents. Maria, being of Colombian descent and raised in Atlanta, shows her vivacious personality and skills as an actress, content creator, businesswoman and philanthropist.

Maria’s love for the entertainment industry began with her acting career. She has been a part of many different shows from Will Packer’s series on the OWN network, Ambitions, to Lifetime's Devious Maids, Queen Sugar, Star, as well as movies such as Honey Rise Up and Dance alongside Teyana Taylor, and Night School with scenes opposite Kevin Hart.

Her career as an actress led her to also find her passion for creating content on social media. From comedy skits, dance videos, cooking shows, beauty and lifestyle, Maria truly does it all. Her drive comes from being an example for other young Latinas to follow their dreams regardless of how big they may seem.

Aside from creating content, Maria’s entrepreneurial side consists of her clothing line, Shop Legarda, her foundation The Legarda Foundation, which is based in Bogota, Colombia and helps children from vulnerable areas get involved in the arts. She has her own cooking show Cooking For Pendejas coming out this year, as well as her Podcast El Good Vibe and a television show which she will be executive producing and acting in.

What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless?

order to meet other creators and learn from them. I realized that the biggest challenge was not letting the voices in my head let me believe that I wasn’t capable of making this happen. Once I just trusted myself and stayed truthful to what is authentic to ME, the doors started to open and the process got easier.

That I’ve never lost a game of musical chairs!

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

Executive producing and starring in a show based on my family's life and to really show women, specifically minorities, that we can have it all in this lifetime without having to give up our authentic selves.

What and who inspires you the most?

Why? My family inspires me most. Also, the thought of being able to inspire women all over the world is what really drives me. My family came to this country with no money and couldn’t even speak English, so for me it’s important to make them proud because they have sacrificed so much for me.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform?

I hope to inspire people to be their authentic self. If they wanna jump on top of a table and dance to do it. If they want to be introverted and not talk to anyone, then do that. I just want people to know that any version of you is acceptable as long as it’s true to yourself, because I live by that every day.

Yes, I will be dropping my line of candles this year, coming out with a podcast, a cooking show, and a scripted series.

Not to listen to anyone but do what your own heart and soul is telling you. Any dream is reachable. You just have to be bold and go for it, but always remember to be true to who you are and be a genuinely good person. It will take you further than anything.

I want people to see my page and see something original. I also love sharing the things I love and care for and giving people inspiration.

What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless?

I started taking beauty content when I was around 16 years old and starting posting them on Twitter. When COVID first hit, I left my retail job and started focusing more on creating content and being consistent on Instagram. Some challenges I faced at first was creating quality content instead of over -producing content. I was also focused on trying to balance school and my social media but overcame that with time management. The seamless part was feeling inspired to take pictures. I'm always ready and love coming up with new content ideas.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I love indie and alternative music. It’s not super surprising but it’s something not a lot of people know.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

I hope to have my own name brand and expand into the fashion and beauty world. I would also love to collaborate and have my own collection/line at one of my favorite online stores.

My name is Sabrina Quesada. I was born in Mexico City and raised in Texas and Florida.

I grew up loving film and theater and always dreamed of seeing myself in a movie. I define my career as an aspiring actress who is lucky enough to also have a platform where I can inspire and help guide young women.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

I do my best to show authenticity across my platforms by using the space to express my creativity, whether it’s in the form of acting skits on TikTok or editing on my YouTube.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform?

My biggest goal is to influence young women, and help guide them in a big sister type of way. I want to teach young girls that they can accomplish anything they set their mind to.

Who are your favorite content creators?

My favorite content creators are my best friends, Anna Shumate, Emma Brooks, Devyn Winkler, and Cynthia Parker. They are truly authentic and kind, and are the same offline as they are online, which is hard to come across nowadays.

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

Right now I am focusing on my acting career, which includes loads of auditions and consistent practicing. I’m also growing my YouTube channel, which is my favorite platform to post content on.

Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today?

What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless?

I never expected to gain a following in the way that I did. I was a very shy girl growing up, and having that many people watching what I did terrified me. I think the hardest part of gaining my platform was accepting that not everyone was going to like who I was. It took me a long time to realize that the smartest thing I could do online was stay true to myself and not worry so much about what people would think of me.

What was your favorite part of staying at Prince Wakiki? What activities would you recommend for someone looking to visit?

The views were breathtaking. I would recommend going on a walk and taking in your surroundings, everything is so surreal and beautiful there.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

I think people would be surprised by how versatile I am. I love to try everything I possibly can, from writing books to playing sports.

What advice would you give to someone who aspires to have a career like yours?

Stay true to yourself, no matter what someone may say about you. The only opinion that matters is your own.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

One of my biggest dreams is to work with Marvel. There is nothing cooler than being able to call yourself a superhero, and I’ve always been a sucker for fantasy.

I am Cynthia Parker from Toronto, Canada.

I am a 17 year old social influencer who has gained representation from Talent X in Los Angeles. I am currently in the United States working with a highly coveted 01 Talent Visa.

I’m very independent, a powerhouse, but also a bit of an old soul.

What can people expect to see from your social media platforms?

You can expect to see a variety of Lifestyle content from me. I will be posting on my YouTube, Tik Tok, and Instagram showcasing: fashion, dancing, improvisation, and traveling.

Can you share insight into the process of creating the platform you have today?

What challenges did you overcome and which part seemed seamless?

Having the platform I do today is one of my greatest accomplishments. I’m grateful for the opportunities Social Media has allowed me to have. It can be exciting meeting new people, traveling, learning new trends.

However, one of the biggest challenges that I’ve had to overcome was learning how to deal with negative hurtful comments online.

I have accepted that there will always be strangers behind a screen typing insults or misinformation about me. It can be emotional and I try not to let it bother me.

Nothing has been seamless - it has actually felt like a roller coaster.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

People assume that I’m extremely intimidating, when I’m actually quite the opposite. I am a very approachable person.

I truly hope I project genuine content and promote self love to others. I want people to love themselves and to feel confident in their own skin. Self love and positive self talk is empowering.

What's a goal in your career you hope to accomplish?

Mark my words… I will be starring in a movie one day.

What and who inspires you the most?

Why? My mom is my biggest inspiration. She encourages me everyday to be the best version of myself. My mom is strong and independent, and I apply these qualities into my daily life. I am thankful for her support and the trust she has in me to do what I love and to pursue my dreams.

As an influencer, how do you hope to influence people through your platform?

I hope I can radiate all that I have learned through a screen to try to influence others.

Who are your favorite content creators?

I really adore Cody Ko and Kelsey Kreppel on YouTube. Not only are they the sweetest people, but the content they put out is authentic and real.

Are you working on any exciting projects you can share?

I’m starting to expand my career into different paths and trying a variety of new things. Acting and modeling are my top two desires. I’m very excited for my future and can’t wait to show the world what I’m capable of.

Looking at my closet, I could not live without: a pair of low-rise jeans, a baby tee, and some platform boots.

The views were breathtaking. Waking up in Hawaii felt like being in paradise everyday.

The hospitality at the Prince Waikiki was exceptional and the scenery was beautiful.

I would recommend going for a hike in the mountains to see all of the greenery, or renting a board/ boat and exploring the crystal clear water.

What are you looking forward to most in 2022?

I’m most excited to see where 2022 takes me and what the future holds. This year feels like a new beginning as the world hopefully starts to return to normal. I want to make the most out of every day.

What advice would you give to someone who aspires to have a career like yours?

The biggest thing I’d say to somebody aspiring to have a career such as mine is, that nothing is impossible! Focus and dedicate your time to whatever you want to accomplish.
