The Crusaders made big stare~ ments in both of their games through the weekend, knocking off defending lndiima state champion Indianapolis Cathedral and defending Michigan state champion Brother Rice. "I think that our defense is going to be our strength," Kennedy said. "We only allowed two goals in each game and we have a pretty experienced group back there." Leading the Moeller defense has been the senior duo of Mitchel Frey and Shane Smith. They are two of 11 seniors on a Moeller squad that went just 8-7 a year ago. Junior Jarred Bowman is the leading scorer through two games, and sophomore Sean Finnegan trailing in a close second. Senior attacker Tim O'Brien has also provided a consistent presence on the field. "It's still too soon to tell what we are going to be able to do offensively," Kennedy said. "We need to work on our shooting a little more. Right now we're missing the goal a lot." kburch@communitypress.com 576-8255
