Driving Theory with English Conversation Through our Driving Theory with Conversational English classes, we provide learners with full support in preparing for the DVSA Theory Test. As well as becoming engaged in learning, students will have the opportunity to gain computer skills and socialise with other learners. For those whose first language is not English, support will be provided in developing listening, speaking and reading skills tailored towards passing the DVSA Theory Test.

Knife Crime & Youth Violence for Professionals

The program is focused on professionals working with young people especially local authorities, schools, safeguarding and children’s boards, youth violence networks, police and violence reduction units.

Objectives: • Identify and understand vulnerability push factors for knife and youth violence • Awareness of the role of young women in gangs and youth violence • Awareness of gang affiliation, structure, membership (initiation) and risks for leaving • Postcode community trap and reasons for carrying knives • Raise awareness of emerging safeguarding themes for young people • Opportunity to explore safeguarding practice and improving own practice • Develop broader knowledge of safeguarding risks and understand actions to take • Reducing offending behaviours and criminalisation of young people • Empowering the Workforce to deliver Excellence in Safeguarding Practice

Youth Violence Awareness for Young People

This knife crime and violence reduction course offers a holistic personal development program designed to change behaviour and negative mindsets. We use mentoring, coaching and selfactualisation methodologies to offer learners culturally suitable learning sessions to help them change their behaviour and attitudes.

The course includes: • Facilitate young people to view their actions through the eyes of others • Develop skills and techniques to resolve conflicts without the use of violence • Offer true realities of “street life” and knife crime to eradicate misconceptions • Enforce positive values through motivation and understanding of the legal system • Employability, mentoring and skills development training and signposting

Fearless Youth Association (FYA) FYA works towards tackling knife crime, gang violence and youth disengagement by offering young people a platform for networking, conversations and skills development. This enables young people to gain confidence, skills and competence to access existing opportunities and become active members of their communities.

Formed in 2016 by 12 young people who were not in education or at work, FYA has retained its core focus of working with and for young to improve their lives.

Over the past 3 years, FYA has become an integral part of Nottingham’s young people support network through active engagement and support solutions enabling young people to turn their lives

around. Our active engagement and support for young people helps them refrain from violence, knife and other crimes by becoming active, responsible, confident and mindful citizens.

Mojatu Foundation Mojatu Foundation is a UK charity that transforms communities through media, gender equality, health and training. We develop the capacity and skills of socially and economically disadvantaged and ‘hard-to-reach’ groups, particularly but not exclusively women and girls of African and Caribbean communities, in such a way that they are better able to identify and meet their needs and to participate more fully in society.

Community engagement is the driving force behind all we do and provides valuable insights about the needs and challenges of the community that supports both service delivery and our work with policymakers and influencers. We exist so that BME communities have the tools, skills and support to recognise their power and realise their potential.

In 2016, Mojatu Foundation’s pioneering work of tackling FGM reached new levels by campaigning and lobbying local government. Working together with Nottingham City Council, we ensured that Nottingham was declared the first city of Zero Tolerance towards FGM in September 2016.

Magazine Mojatu Magazine is a print and online interactive digital magazine which publishes positive and inspirational stories while promoting events, businesses and activities of African communities.

Mojatu magazine is the voice for Mojatu Foundation and partner organisations by highlighting the activities undertaken by these organisations such as training, women empowerment, mental health initiatives, tackling female genital mutilation and community events and activities. It is published bi-monthly in Nottingham (Mojatu Nottingham) and Berkshire (Mojatu Berkshire) in the UK and periodically in Kenya and Gambia.

FMB Radio FMB Radio is a Nottingham based media production and online radio broadcasting organisation. It helps individuals and organisations to capture, store and share their stories and experiences creatively and factually while enabling them to amplify their authentic voices thereby addressing issues affecting including meeting their goals and objectives.
