You can feel it in the air: Spring has sprung, we’re getting closer to Summer, and beautiful blossoms are flowering on our trees here on Chavasse Park. Seems like it’s just the perfect time to get excited for a big party in the city, which is good news, because Eurovision in Liverpool is on the horizon!

Liverpool ONE is at the centre of the action, with the buzz on the streets extending into our shops and restaurants. It’s safe to say, everyone’s excited for the competition. As well as all the fun activity for the big event we’ve got planned, there’s loads to enjoy before then. As Spring begins, Liverpool ONE will be taken over by beautiful floral installations, which includes plenty of selfie spots for when you’re hitting the shops.

Some of the city’s best artists have been collaborating with schools and Ukrainian community groups to create our Eurovision art installations, which takes the form of huge decorated eggs in honour of the Ukrainian tradition of pysanky. Appearing from 31 March, kids will love spotting the installations as the weather gets milder.

Liverpool Comic Con will take over the city from 1 April, and as the biggest names in fandom descend on the city, we’ll be soaking up the atmosphere with characters milling

around the city centre for the whole weekend. Kids who are crazy about characters from every kind of universe can enjoy experimenting in the LEGO shop or stuffing their very own cuddly version at Build-a-Bear. Keep an eye on our social media channels for all the brands who’ll be joining in the fun! With warmer weather comes more opportunities to enjoy dining al fresco, so make the most of a heatwave and bring the family to enjoy our outdoor eating areas at Slim Chickens, Wagamama, and loads more of the kids’ favourite brands. Eating out at Liverpool ONE just got more rewarding, as we launch our first-of-its-kind loyalty programme that puts cash back in your account. Download our app to find out more! Then after your meal, head to the Sugar House Steps as they’re once again spectacularly adorned with Astro turf, and watch the sun set over the docks.

If you’re reluctant to go back indoors now the days are brighter, enjoy our free activities at Liverpool ONE. Make the most of the sun shining, the trees blossoming and the fresh air by following our Nature Trail, which takes kids on an educational trail around our city centre green space. Find bugs and birds and identify flora – just download our app to access the trail, or head to the Information Centre on

Wall Street for a map. If history’s more their thing, the Heritage Trail takes young learners through some of the locations that have shaped Liverpool’s past and future, all located right here at Liverpool ONE.

Spring is where the party starts at Liverpool ONE, as we get ready for one of the biggest events the city has ever seen. Get your glad rags on and come and enjoy the fun with us!

FUN AND ACTIVE LEARNING IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS AT THE GRANGE JUNIOR SCHOOL

YEAR

7s EMBRACE EVERY ASPECT OF SCHOOL LIFE AT THE KING’S SCHOOL CHESTER

From representing their school at netball, football, athletics, hockey and more, to taking to the stage in a show-stopping production of Les Misérables, and even being inspired by a visit from award-winning author, Phil Earle, Year 7s at The King’s School Chester have certainly packed a lot into their first two terms. Head of Year 7, Sharon Gareh, has been impressed with how pupils have thrown themselves into life at King’s. She said: “Pupils have so many opportunities here – academic, sporting, musical and a whole range of co-curricular clubs – and it has been wonderful to see the Year 7s embrace every single one of them.” Your child can experience King’s for themselves on their Year 5 activity days. Book now online. W: kingschester.co.uk/visit-us

The Grange Junior School students have been making the most of the brighter Spring days by taking their learning outside. Reception class children had a visit to the school’s woodland area for their ‘Winter into Spring Hunt’. They spotted the signs of both seasons and enjoyed ticking them off their lists. Year 3 showed great creativity in their outdoor learning, making ‘blobsters’ out of clay, twigs and leaves. Year 5 kept busy by making shelters and then warmed up afterwards with a yummy hot chocolate reward. Outdoor learning is a fun way for the children to develop their skills in teamwork, problem solving and creativity. T: 01606 539039 W: www.grange.org.uk
