transformation into the future, and the implementation of new technologies. It will be concerned with, for example, the ways in which it is possible to establish standards and what needs to be innovated in the ecology of production in small workshops and large volumes, in questions of authorship, quality and identity manifested through works or experiments with materials. The selection is therefore neither encyclopaedic nor temporal, but representative of specific ideas and intentions. It focuses mainly on young talents and their support in networking and establishing international contacts while, of course, not overlooking the renowned names of contemporary Czech design. The world of Czech glass and porcelain is considerably diversified; the Made by Fire exhibition only captures a small section of it, in our opinion the most interesting part. Often it is design that explores the boundaries of the medium or material or otherwise experiments to evoke strong emotions and other important questions. The exhibition has the ambition to mirror us as individuals, but also society as a whole."
