Its not for the first time that Art Center «Beit ot hamuzar» – House of Quality – in cooperation with «Skizze» opens a festival with the name
The same word is written in Latin script, Cyrillic script and with Hebrew letters, and thus the underlying idea of the festival is symbolized: to show the wonderfully different aspects of modern art, how new immigrants see them as well as those born in the country. In this festival we never make thematic expositions, what we are interested in here instead is the artistic expression and techniques of modern art; one of its ideas being the coexistence and and co-influence of different cultural elements into the artistic expression. Each festival is made up of three expositions. The first one is wholly dedicated to photography, which has long since stopped being just a way to save a moment but one of the techniques of art. It has become high art. The second exposition is called «Mixed Technique» the name not only refers to the techniques used to create the art pieces but also to the exposition itself which encompasses all kinds of modern art: video-art and installations, jewelery and collages. slide show and sculptures... And finally to top it all off, we return to one of the old all known genres of art. This time «Self-portrait» in every kind of different interpretations and styles, traditional as well as super modern. Our festival continues and we are sure that all of us -curators and visitors- need to expect many yet many more surprises. The festival is done with the aid of the Ministry of Absorption and with the aid of the Center of Absorption of repatriated artists which exists within the Ministry of Absorption
Уже не в первый раз Арт-центр « Бейт от а-Муцар» совместно с галереей «Скицца» проводит фестиваль под названием
Одно и то же слово пишется латиницей, кириллицей и ивритскими буквами и в этом - символический подтекст, идея нашего фестиваля: показать самые разные аспекты современного искусства, как его видят новые репатрианты из разных стран Исхода и те художники, которые уже давно в Стране. В этом фестивале мы не делаем тематических выставок - нас здесь интересует владение художественным языком и разнообразными техниками современного искусства, одна из превалирующих концепций которого – сосуществование и взаимопроникновение различных приемов и стилей художественного языка. Каждый из фестивалей состоит из трех выставок. Первая из них целиком отдается фотографии, давно уже ставшей не просто способом зафиксировать какое-то событие, а одной из полноправных – и высоких - техник Искусства. Вторая выставка называется «Смешанная техника» и это название относится не только к технике представленных работ, но и к самой экспозиции, демонстрирующей самые разные виды современного искусства: видео-арт и инсталляции, ювелирные украшения и коллажи, слайд-шоу и скульптурные объекты … И, наконец, в завершение, мы обращаемся к одному из старых, добрых жанров искусства. На этот раз это «Автопортрет» - в самых разных интерпретациях и стилях, как традиционных, так и суперсовременных. Наши фестивали продолжатся, и мы уверены, что всех нас – и кураторов, и зрителей – ждет еще много интересного и неожиданного. Фестиваль проводится при поддержке Министерства Абсорбции Израиля и существующего при нем Центра абсорбции репатриантовдеятелей искусств.

Zely Smekhov
Born 1939, Moscow, Russia, USSR. Smekhov was born in the family of Lev Smekhov – a well-known Russian graphic artist. At an early age, observing his father’s work, Zely began transferring his earliest impressions of life onto paper with the aid of pencils and brushes. 1950-1957 – studies at Moscow Artistic Middle School. 1964 – graduated from the Surikov Arts Institute in Moscow, receiving a graphic artist’s diploma. 1966-1968 – works at the Master’s Graphic Arts Studio at the Academy of Arts of the USSR, under the direction Y. A. Kibrik, a fellow of the Academy. 1971 – became a member of the Artists’ Union of the USSR. אותה מלה עצמה נכתבת כאן באותיות לטיניות ,קיריליות ועברית ,ובכך הסבטקסט הסמלי והרעיון של הפסטיבל שלנו :להציג אספקטים שונים לגמרי של אמנות עכשווית ,כפי שהם נראים בעיני אמנים — עולים חדשים מהארצות השונות וכן אמנים שכבר נמנים עם ותיקי הארץ. בפסטיבל זה אין אנו מקיימים תערוכות נושאיות — מה שמעניין אותנו כאן הוא שליטה בשפה האמנותית ובטכניקות השונות של האמנות העכשווית ,אמנות שאחת תפיסות הרווחות בה היא חדירה הדדית של אמצעי ההבעה והסגנונות השונים בשפה האמנותית. כל אחד מהפסטיבלים מכיל 3תערוכות. התערוכה הראשונה מוקדשת במלואה לצילום שכבר מזן פסק להיות אמצעי להנציח אירוע כלשהו אלא אחד מסוגי האמנות הגבוהה במלוא מובן המלה. התערוכה השנייה כותרתה "טכניקה מעורבת" ,וציון זה מתייחס לא רק לאספקט הטכני של העבודות המוצגות אלא לאקספוזיציה עצמה המציגה סוגים שונים ומגוונים של האמנות המודרנית: וידיאו-ארט ומיצבים ,קישוטים מעשי ידי צורפים וקולאז’ים, מופעי-שקופיות ואובייקטים מפוסלים... ולבסוף נפנה אל אחד הז’אנרים הוותיקים והאובים שבאמנות .כוונתנו הפעם ל"דיוקן עצמי" — במגוון עשיר של סגנונות ואינטרפרטציות ,החל במסורתיות וכה במודרניות ביותר. הפסטיבלים שלנו ממשיכים ,ואנו בטוחים שלכולנו — אוצרי התערוכות וקהל הבאים — נכונו עוד הרבה הפתעות מעניינות. הפסטיבל מתקיים בתמיכת המשרד לקליטת העלייה והמרכז לקליטת אמנים עולים ותושבים חוזרים הפועל לצידו.
