Focus The focus of my body of work is to contrast life in colour with life in monochrome. Through the exploration of hobbies, interests and life events, the story of one’s existence is shown across the five panels. I intend to interconnect the colourful backdrops with the monochromatic photos in the centre strip to create a visual timeline of my life. By incorporating different techniques and styles into this artwork, I hope to create a diverse yet interconnected piece.
Artist’s Statement My approach has developed through inspiration from artists Sophie Calle, Julie Fragar and especially Australian street artist, Fintan Magee. Magee draws from personal experiences that influence his works around Australia and all over the world through his street art. As well as Sophie Calle and Julie Fragar, all three artists show a deep connection to their personal lives through their work in the forms of street art, installations, sculptures and photographs. I chose to incorporate three of these art forms to convey my personal story and life to the audience.

The middle will contain black and white photographs
This is a dripping colour effect and the bottom will be fire so that the colour is dripping on the fire and putting it out – represents that colour and happiness in life can put out the fire and things going wrong

Annotated Work Developing:
I selected a range of artists whose practices and materials were similar to what I wanted to incorporate in my artwork
I planned a way to maintain my preferred art forms while incorporating those of the artists who I researched
Researching:
I made sure to research the artist’s intent in their artworks and why they wanted to create them because I wanted my artwork to have a deep and personal meaning/connection
