NOSTRAND.CONNECT Retail
Apartments
In the design are shop spaces, as well as office and commercial retail spaces available to be rented out. There are opportunities for the residents to open up shops on the ground floor alongside whatever brand
At nostrand.CONNECT The core concept of nostrand. Connect is: Connectivity. Every design move that the
stores or offices decide to join the nostrand.Connect team.
team made was with the intent of pushing some form of connection within and around the site. All of this was continuously done with the three pillars of sustainability in mind: Social, Economic and Environmental.
Senior Living To fit the Age in Place mindset, nostrand.Connect made it a priority to make room for all possible residents. There are more spacious room plans, perfect for visitors, and accessibility.
NOMA National Student Competition The intent of the Nostrand.Connect development is to raise a learning environment complete with chance encounters and a community in which the neighborhood of nostrand. Connect can grow and thrive. The vdesign provides a safe space, that is active around the clock while pushing to unite the surrounding areas regardless of background. Residents and visitors alike have opportunities to invest in their education within convenient classroom settings. This design focuses not only the youth that come into the development but the older generations as well who can use these spaces to connect to the world around them. Nostrand.Connect wants to bring together Nostrand’s future inhabitants, while enhancing their existence with opportunities to grow skills and cultivate ideas in a collaborative CONNECTed environment.

The design allows each of its residents and visitors the opportunity to experience an inclusive environment. On the ground floor Retail can be used by the residents above as shops in which they can grow businesses, there is opportunity for pop-up shops, local retailers and brands to come together in a central space. With the proximity of the retail to the housing above residents will not have to go far to access everything they need in their daily lives. Each level above this includes apartment units as well as CONNECTion rooms in which residents can cultivate stimulating environments that foster collaboration and growth. As the inhabitants of Nostrand.Connect make their way to the roof, they will experience these rooms all the way up until they reach our shared outdoor spaces that are meant to encourage a tempering of pace, a connection to nature which offers room for bonding, reflection, and solidarity.

2019
In the end I was able to create a serenity fountain that at plates interacted with materials. First acrylic (the main container), then wood + steel, then wood + copper, and again. The change of the materials and the use of a pump to create a cycle through which the water had to continue allowed for many different water and lighting patterns to be created over time .

Task: to Create a shadow box using concrete, and other materials of choice. Growing an understanding of how artists and architects use materials to control the environment they wish to create, I developed this Shadow Box to study how water can cohere a variety of materials. AU Atlanta Unearthed Task: Atlanta’s Underground district, connected by the Peachtree Street corridor and MLK Jr. Drive has become a place with a loss of identity. Made of up 5 distinct areas consisting of a GSU college, 5 Points Station, Farlie Poplar Historic District and Oakland Cemetary. This project aimed to not only Reground this central area of Atlanta but to Unearth what was essential to the area as well.

23 Design Conclusion: Atlanta’s Five Points Station is the most central train station of this area of Atlanta. It is a historic nexus for the Georgia Railroad system . Located at the intersection of Peachtree and Decatur Street the vision for the new Five points Intersection is meant to draw the users through the experience created within The Atlanta Unearthed Proposal.

27 Design Conclusion: Near the Oakland Cemetery of Atlanta, GA, the Gateway design acts as a historic entrance to the re-visioning of the design. Created to act as an activity center of what is now one of two desolate ends of the site, this redesign incorporates an environment welcoming all on a walk through downtown Atlanta.
{RE} Generative Amphitheater
Task: to Regenerate the area using my knowledge of sustainable devices, design and related programmatic responses. The resulting design comprised of rainwater collection systems, solar shading and energy (pv) systems, and a form-work that would not only be reactive to the acoustics of the users on the site, but also increase visibility of the flat area to influence use. (Left)Existing site. An on campus outdoor amphitheater.

Formal and Programmatic responses were developed using knowledge of the needs of both the campus and the concept of the area of study. The form was created to enhance shading, PV and auditory response. The programmatic decisions were developed with response to student activity in the area, as well as the existing program of the space. The purpose was to enhance what was there, regenerating the area. 5
