Kevin Gilmore, executive director, Sussex County Habitat Kelle Paynter, Selbyville, and Mary Matthews, Seaford, for Humanity 's Executive Director, welcomes Governor work on the women’s build project at the development at Ruth Ann Minner. Concord.

Ruth Ann Minner was on one side of me and [Seaford] Mayor Ed Butler on the other. We all had our heads bowed, our hands were on the house, and we
all asked God’s blessings on the home.” The house, one of five under construction in the village, is being built largely by women. That kind of “theme build” helps to generate excitement and attract volunteers, Gilmore said. “We are seeing a lot of new faces out there, and that means more volunteers for Habitat,” he said. “And that will allow us to continue to have an impact on our community.” Wendy Daudt, Seaford, is the project leader of the “women’s build,” which started April 21. Since then, volunteers have put up exterior and interior walls and installed the decking. This week, they will be putContinued on page 16
