Discover a New View in Atlanta Ever seen art by Al Taylor? Neither had I. That's partly because the High Museum of Art in Midtown is the first museum in the country to organize a major exhibition exploring the career of this late American artist. Despite spending most of his life in New York, Taylor's work was more widely known in Europe—perhaps until now. 90 MINUTES IN: Open through March 18, the exhibit, "Al Taylor, What Are You Looking At?" displays more than 150 sculptures, drawings and prints spanning from 1981 to the artist's death in 1999. Drawn together from distinguished collections such as the National Gallery of Art, The Museum of Modern Art and The British Museum, the works reveal Taylor's innovative interplay between unexpected materials (think

The High Museum of Art broomsticks, coffee cans, hula hoops). His work invites the viewer to see the commonplace world in entirely new ways—and what better time to find a fresh perspective than at the start of a new year? At the leading art museum in the Southeast, this exhibit signals another step forward on a national scale for the High—and a celebratory step forward for Atlanta's design community as a whole.

Ask the Expert YOUR CONCIERGE

Rory Rule

Lead Concierge, JW Marriott Buckhead —KRISTINA DREW

Q: Pasta—talk about serious comfort food. Where do you go for some? A: Let's talk pasta—one of my favorite subjects! Two of my favorite places to recommend are within walking distance of our hotel. Chef Drew Van Leuvan, executive chef of Seven Lamps, used to have his own handmade pasta company and Craig Richards, executive chef at St. Cecilia, offers an incredible rotation of pasta dishes. Q: Can you name a few restaurants with heated patios for patrons to enjoy? A: We are fortunate in Atlanta that our winters are mild enough to enjoy outdoor dining year-round. However, we sometimes need a heat lamp to see us through. Best dining on heated patios are Seven Lamps, South City Kitchen and Gypsy Kitchen at the Shops Buckhead Atlanta.

Q: Winter is harsh on the skin. What's a local Atlanta business that can help? A: If your skin needs a little pampering from the dry winter air and dining under heat lamps, try my favorite boutique spa: Buckhead European Grand Spa. It's simple, unpretentious atmosphere is the best place for skin care. Q: Who has the richest hot cocoa in town? A: After a wonderful spa treatment, pick up an incredible cup of hot cocoa at Cacao in the Shops Buckhead Atlanta. This small gourmet chocolate shop may change your taste for hot chocolate forever. Even meat lovers will enjoy one, especially considering how its production uses about 75 percent less water, about 87 fewer greenhouse gases and requires about 95 percent less land than conventional ground beef. Since debuting in 2016 at Chef David Chang’s Momofuku Nishi in New York, this burger is sweeping menus across the country. In Atlanta, the tasty alternative first arrived at Grindhouse Killer Burgers locations, as well as is now available at Argosy in East Atlanta Village and The Counter in Roswell. you have about bowling. Located in Buckhead’s posh Miami Circle, the valet is the first hint this is an above-average alley.
