CENTER OF ATTENTION Fun Facts Three bits of information about Royal Hawaiian Center.

1 WATER LILLIES All the flora in The Royal Grove are mea kanu Hawai‘i, plants native to Hawai‘i. The single exception are the water lillies or līlia lana i ka wai in the Center’s ‘Āpuakēhau Stream water feature.

2 TRIBUTE TO PAUAHI The platform of the statue of Princess Pauahi is adorned with ‘ili‘ili, pebbles. These ‘ili‘ili were gathered by student beneficiaries from across the eight major Hawaiian islands, serving as a reminder that Pauahi’s legacy is far-reaching.

3 SPROUTING WATERS As an homage to the Waikīkī of yesteryear, the Center has Royal Hawaiian Center • Building B • Level 1 Waikiki • 808.922.4888

incoporated the “spouting waters”—which is the literal translation of Waikīkī—in the ‘Āpuakēhau Stream.
