Furry Friends
Charming
One of the hottest shoes from this summer comes from a collaboration between singer Rihanna and sneaker giant Puma. The Fenty Puma, a slip-on sandal with faux fur, inspired copycats ranging from Urban Outfitters to Givenchy. But the real deal from Puma comes in Bay (a bright sea foam), Cool Blue (a pastel blue) and Orchid Bloom (a pastel purple) for $80. That is, if the hot shoe is still in stock. Surely another round of fabulous colors comes out in the fall. THE GUIDE
Ask the Expert YOUR CONCIERGE
Briana Richmond Concierge at The Venetian
Q: Tell me about one of your favorite places to send first-time Vegas visitors. A: A trip down Las Vegas Boulevard where you can see entire Strip, everything from the outdoor gondolas at The Venetian, the volcano in front of the Mirage to the fountains at the Bellagio. Q: I want to update my Facebook photo. What should I have in the background of my selfie? A: I would recommend the most photographed spot in Las Vegas, the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, or the new LOVE installation in our waterfall atrium. Q: Tell me about your favorite hidden gem in Las Vegas. A: The Aquatic Club. It is the new pool at The Palazzo. You don’t have to be a guest of the hotel to book a daybed or cabana. What makes it unique is it is the Vegas day club alternative, inspired by social and athletic clubs of the past. It’s intimate, yet has a really fun vibe. Great cocktails and food for adults 21 or older. Q: Where should I eat if I want to celebrate a special occasion? A: I would recommend Wolfgang Puck’s CUT or Mario Batali’s Carnevino. Both are delicious steakhouses with great wines and amazing food. I do recommend making reservations in advance as both are really sought after restaurants. Q: What’s the must-see show in Las Vegas right now? A: Human Nature. They are four gentlemen from Australia who put on a fun-filled, high-energy show that will have you up and dancing by the end of the show. They sing everything from doowop to Britney Spears. Q: I want to experience classic Las Vegas. Where do you recommend I go? A: Hugo’s Cellar Restaurant in the Four Queens has an old Vegas feeling, with a maître’ d dressed in a tuxedo. Each lady gets a rose. They bring you sorbet between your courses. It is the last of its kind in Las Vegas.

Relax
The NFL and college football are going full force now, and that means tuning into your favorite sports contests in style. These hot spots have TVs at every turn, delicious chef-driven cuisine and suds that never stop flowing. (1) Umami Burger (SLS Las Vegas, 702.891.7239) brings a casual sports book with an outdoor beer garden that has an extensive selection of craft brews. Bam! Emeril Lagasse’s (2) Lagasse’s Stadium (The Palazzo, 702.607.2665) features a sports bar and lounge known for its game-day cuisine and posh viewing areas. At (3) Pub 365 (Tuscany, 702.944.5084), beer dreams do come true with 365 rotating taps and a menu of pub fare including Baja fish tacos, poutine, IPA nachos, pulled pork sandwiches and a roster of burgers.
You can fly high while you’re in Las Vegas. At (1) Vegas Indoor Skydiving (200 Convention Center Drive, 702.731.4768), experience skydiving within a vertical wind tunnel, with air speeds up to 120 mph, simulating the freefall of skydiving. (2) Vegas Balloon Rides (4390 Polaris Ave., 702.553.3039) goes up, up and away on the world’s oldest form of flight—the hot air balloon. Plummet back down to earth at (3) SkyJump (Stratosphere, 702.380.7777). Customers fall off the 108th floor of the Stratosphere Tower at 40 mph, during this, the world’s highest “controlled freefall.” Fly like Superman on the (4) Slotzilla Zip Line (Fremont Street Experience, 702.678.5780), a 12-story, slot machine-inspired zip line that lets visitors cascade 77 feet above the pedestrian promenade.
One of the oldest spa traditions, the hammam, finds a home in Las Vegas. (1) Sahra Spa & Hammam (Cosmopolitan, 702.698.7000) finds inspiration in the desert’s sky, sand sculptures and moonlit nights. Find an authentic Turkish hammam with treatments inspired by desert cultures from around the world and sensual therapies infused with Arabian beauty rituals. (2) Spa at Mandarin Oriental (Mandarin Oriental, 702.590.8886) features a 1930s Shanghai style spa, with vitality pools and ice fountains, as well as the Laconium room with a temperature-controlled Tepidarium, a Turkish hammam and a Chinese foot spa. (3) Drift Spa (Palms, 702.944.3219) features Las Vegas’ only traditional Turkish co-ed hammam as well as couples treatment rooms, steam room and sauna.
