Getting Cozy in Atlanta Winter in Atlanta may be mild, but there's no shortage of creature comforts to warm hearts and souls. Believe it or not, you can even enjoy après-ski culture, sans slopes, at one of Buckhead's coziest restaurants. With South African flair, it all adds up to unforgettable dining in the ATL. 90 MINUTES IN:
apropos desserts like s'mores brulee and snowman gelato. For owners Justin Anthony and his wife/interior designer Kelly, Yebo Ski Haus is a true labor of love—both for Justin's native South Africa, but also this power couple's teamwork that makes the seasonal restaurant leave a lasting impression. Catch Yebo Ski Haus while you can, before the pop-up switches skis back to surfboards in the spring.

Q: Oyster bars...name one, two or three! A: Inside Ponce City Market is W. H. Stiles Fish Camp, which is a great spot for oysters. Lure, right around the corner [from the hotel], has a happy hour special every day. There’s also The Optimist on the Westside. Q: What is your favorite date night restaurant that emulates old-school, classic romance? A: I love, love, love—did I say love?—Pasta da Pulcinella. They’ve been there for over 20 years. It has this old, romantic vibe to it with candlelight and big windows. It’s beautiful. They have the best lobster ravioli. Q: Pampering is in order. Where is a great mani/pedi salon in Midtown? A: Of course I’m going to recommend exhale Spa, which is on the seventh floor of our building. You can stop in for a class, afterwards head to the hammam room, get a mani/pedi, massages, facials and even acupuncture. Q: Name a romantic wedding venue in the city that 2018 brides should have on their radar. A: We had a guest do her wedding at The Goat Farm, which was where "The Hunger Games" were filmed. A few others: King Plow Arts Center, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Summerour, even the rooftop of 999 Peachtree. Guests are doing weddings in obscure places that aren’t really the norm. You can have a wedding almost anywhere.

The 48-acre Oakland
Located on 29 acres in an Atlanta suburb, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a strikingly ornate Hindu temple. Its stark-white exterior takes on the colors of the sky, while its white polished interior is often lit in various hues of blue, turquoise, orange or pale green, creating a beautiful canvas for ceremonies. “The BAPS Mandir is an extraordinarily holy and beautiful venue,” says Rebecca Enslein of The Studio B Photography. “A mandir is a Hindu place of worship. It is made of stone and more than 34,000 individual pieces were carved by hand in India, shipped to the U.S. and assembled in Lilburn like a giant 3-D puzzle.” The mandir is open daily to one and all from 9 am-6 pm, (guided tours available) and an Aarti ceremony takes place daily at 11:15 am. www.baps.org
Cemetery is a show-
place of sculpture and architecture, a botanical preserve and a quiet retreat. “Not only is it a historic landmark of Atlanta where many famous names lay to rest, it’s a romantic and lively place to host a wedding. Yes, we realize the irony in that sentence,” says Six Hearts Photography’s Schellie Hogan. Gothic revival and neoclassical mausoleums are scattered throughout the hallowed ground, which is in fact the final resting place of notable figures including “Gone With the Wind” author Margaret Mitchell and golf legend Bobby Jones, among others. “During cocktail hour, guests are able to join a historian for a tour of the grounds, where they can learn the history, see skyline views, find fields to play in,” adds Hogan. “There are photo opportunities galore and so much to explore.” The cemetery is open daily and admission is free. Another favorite venue for Hogan is Ventanas, located above the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta in the Centennial Park District. “It has a helipad with a full 360 view of the city,” says Hogan. “Ventanas means ‘windows’ in English, and let us tell you something about the windows in this space: they are floor to ceiling with that same view from the helipad… If you’re looking to engulf your guests in the city, this is the only Atlanta option and a true Atlanta photographer’s dream.” This premier event space isn’t regularly open to the public, making an invite to a special occasion here all the more special. www.oaklandcemetery.com; www.ventanasatlanta.com

Located in the Sweetwater Design District, American Spirit Works is one of Atlanta’s largest event spaces with a fully functioning whiskey distillery, covered courtyard, bottle garden and The Stave Room—covetable with its 18-foot ceiling and refined yet rustic interior’s warm, urban charm. “The Stave Room is a blank canvas just waiting for a client’s unique and personal touch,” says Leigh + Becca Photography. “It was the perfect spot for a recent New Year’s wedding, complete with a balloon drop and Waffle House food truck!” For your sippin’ pleasure, American Spirit Whiskey is open to visitors for tours and tastings (Th 4:30-7 pm, F 4:30-8 pm and Sa noon-5 pm). Atlanta Your Way
Dog Lover Explore the peaceful trails of 1) Sweetwater Creek State Park with your four-legged com-
panion. A wooded trail follows the stream to the ruins of a textile mill that burned during the Civil War. The park is less than 30 minutes west of Downtown, and costs $5 for parking. After working up an appetite, head to (2) Hampton + Hudson in Atlanta's hip Inman Park neighborhood. This community bar and restaurant offers a dog-friendly patio and a delicious brunch menu on weekends from 10 am-3 pm. Next stop: (3) Ace & Jack inside Ponce City Market, a short walk via the Atlanta BeltLine's Eastside Trail. Designed for pets, this shop sells bedding, treats, collars, leashes, toys and more from brands like Harry Barker, Himalayan Pet Supply and Mr. Dog that are sure to have your pup's tail wagging. 40 W H E R E AT L A N TA I F E B R UA R Y 20 18

Famed local food bloggers @ATL_BucketList, @EatingThroughAtlanta and @ATLAdventurer are guest bartenders at (1) Urban Tree Cidery on Feb. 7 to benefit The Giving Kitchen, which provides assistance grants for Atlanta area restaurant workers facing an emergency crisis. Need a reservation for Feb. 14? Splurge on a four-course dinner at the artful (2) Atlas restaurant inside St. Regis Atlanta for $150, including the "All You Need is Love" grand finale—chocolate crémeux, passion fruit coulis, passion fruit whipped ganache, raspberry sablé and pistachio sponge cake. Sticking with New Year's resolutions to eat better? (3) gusto! is the place to go for fresh bowls and wraps. The Buckhead and Midtown locations are open for lunch and dinner with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available.
On a cold day, what's better than warming up inside a theater with a new movie, buzzedabout play or time-honored musical? The 18th annual (1) Atlanta Jewish Film Festival continues through Feb. 15 with a diverse lineup of narrative and documentary films from around the world. Meanwhile, (2) "Maytag Virgin," a story of non-traditional romance, takes the stage at Aurora Theatre — Gwinnett's only professional theatre— through Feb. 11. Celebrating its 20th anniversary tour, Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning (3) "RENT" plays the Fox Theatre from Feb. 20 to 28 as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2017/2018 season. A re-imagining of Puccini's "La Bohème," this musical first rocked Broadway in 1996, and remains a bucket-list ticket in American theatre today.
