Take A Break Travel Introduces
VEGAS’ BEST COMEBACK!
Simply bring this ad to one of our booth locations listed here and we’ll show you how to get the best value for your return to Las Vegas!
Q: Tell me about one of your favorite places to send first-time Vegas visitors. A: Downtown is such a great place to visit, especially at night. Everything is cheaper, lots of great restaurants, and don’t forget to check out the bar scene in Fremont East. Q: Where should I eat if I want to celebrate a special occasion? How hard is it to get a reservation while I’m in Las Vegas? A: Aureole inside of the Mandalay Bay is just breath taking. This American seafood restaurant has a beautiful four-story wine tower in the middle of the restaurant with more than 10,000 bottles and even a swan pond in the backyard. I always recommend reserving at least a few days in advance. During big conventions and major holidays, most everything gets sold out, so try to plan out at least a week out. Q: What’s the most unusual request you’ve had as a concierge? What about the craziest request? A: I don’t always remember the craziest requests, but I do remember the sweetest. A guest told me his story that he had surprised his girlfriend with a trip to Vegas earlier that morning. I helped him prepare the whole weekend for them including reservations to our spa, show tickets, the best restaurants, and even rose petals and champagne for one of the nights. Q: Who is your favorite Las Vegas celebrity chef? A: It’s a tie between Michael Mina and Tom Colicchio. You know they’re good when they have multiple restaurants. Q: I want to experience classic Las Vegas. Where do you recommend that I go? A: The Mob Museum over in downtown is the best place to get to know the roots of this great city. And not too far from there is Oscar’s, which is a classic Las Vegas steakhouse. Find more tips from concierges on wheretraveler.com 44 W H E R E L A S V E G A S I J U N E 2018

Las Vegas Your Way
Relaxation
Luxury
Foodies
Las Vegas offers so many different ways to relax by the pool. For those who want a little party with their pooling, Las Vegas has you covered. (1) Encore Beach Club (Encore, 702.770.7300) takes the party angle and throws in opportunities to play a little poker or do some people-watching from the cabanas with private hot tubs. (2) Marquee Dayclub (The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, 702.333.9000) features three-story bungalow lofts and living quarters for overnight stays, as well as a party deck with infinity pools and gaming. The fun never ends. (3) Wet Republic (MGM Grand, 702.891.3563) combines the ultimate nightlife vibe with poolside pampering and some of the most famous deejays out there including Calvin Harris, Kaskade, Tiesto and Steve Aoki.
Find a world of luxury at the spas of Las Vegas. At (1) Spa at Aria (Aria, 702.590.9600), relax on heated-stone ganbanyoku beds or head to the salt room. Eucalyptus steam rooms and redwood saunas as well as Las Vegas’ only co-ed balcony pool with a view of pools are just some of the amenities here. The (2) Spa at Mandarin (Mandarin Oriental, 702.590.8886) brings a spa decorated in a 1930s Shanghai style. Vitality pools, steam rooms and ice fountains, as well as the Laconium room with temperaturecontrolled Tepidarium, a Turkish hammam and a Chinese foot spa await. (3) ESPA (Vdara, 702.590.2474)—the 18,000-square-foot, two-level spa, salon and fitness center—uses ingredients with herbs, flowers, fruits, vegetables and essential oils in its treatments.
Sink your teeth into prime rib, New York strip steaks, rib-eye steaks and tenderloins. (1) Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House (3925 Paradise Road, 702.796.0063) features handcut steaks and chops, eight private dining rooms and a James Bond table. (2) Bazaar Meat (SLS, 702.761.7610), chef José Andrés’ celebration of all things carnivorous, features real Kobe beef, one of the few places in the United States that offers this delicacy. Order one of the big guys from the fire pit—two types of Spanish-style, bone-in rib-eye steaks. Brothers David and Michael Morton bring their family’s interpretation of the steakhouse experience to the rock-n-roll themed resort at (3) MB Steak (Hard Rock Hotel, 702.483.4888). Try the 10-ounce hanger au poivre for something different in the steak department.
