In with the New No wonder Las Vegas earned the nickname the Entertainment Capital of the World with its variety of shows that span from family friendly to adults only. The newest batch of scintillating entertainment brings a little of each, from the saucy dance moves in “Magic Mike Live” to the racy sex talk in “Sex Tips.” On the other end of the spectrum, “Circus 1903” entertains kids from ages 5 to 95 with its carnival of big top hijinks and two adorable elephant puppets gracefully capturing the audience’s imagination. Here, five new shows that launched in 2017 that are worth a night out. GREAT FOR FAMILIES Thrills and daredevil acts alike take the ring in “Circus 1903— The Golden Age of Circus” at Paris. A ringmaster leads the parade of strong men, contortionists, acrobats, high-wire acts and musicians in turn-ofthe-century attire in this new show at Paris. Bonus: A mother African elephant, created using life-sized puppets, teaches her baby to perform tricks. GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT Actor Channing Tatum takes his character Magic Mike from the big screen to the stage

with “Magic Mike Live Las Vegas.” The Hard Rock Hotel recreated Club Domina and added a sizzling 360-degree dance and acrobatic strip. The show features 13 hot guys who perform all over the room, sometimes even above the audience. SEXY DATE NIGHT Reality personality Kendra Wilkinson of “Kendra on Top” and “The Girls Next Door” fame and Jai Rodriguez from “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” team up in “Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay

Man”—an interactive show talking about sex at Paris. Wilkinson goes from a shy, passive professor to a sexually empowered woman while Rodriguez encourages her and the audience to come out of their shells. ROCK ON Las Vegas’ new way to rock out brings the Tenors of Rock at Harrah’s Showroom. Five burly British men, a full band and dancers give songs from Aerosmith, Queen, AC/DC and Bon Jovi a new and quite unexpected spin.

THE GUIDE

Ask the Expert YOUR CONCIERGE

Fabyne Thegenus

Concierge at The Linq

Q: I want to update my Facebook photo. What should I have in the background of my selfie? A: Jean Philippe Patisserie. The bakery’s fountain at the Bellagio is a glass sculpture with liquid chocolate of different shades pouring and cascading within it. Q: Where should I eat if I want to celebrate a special occasion? A: A great way to start is to find out the type of cuisine you would like to enjoy. I enjoy Picasso within the Bellagio; the beauty of art and food combined makes the dining experience radiant. I recommend patio seating, which allows guests to also enjoy the fountains as they dine. Q: How hard is it to get a reservation while I’m in Las Vegas? A: Reservations are always recommended and encouraged if the restaurant offers this service. This allows guests to secure their restaurant experience with great ease. Q: What’s the must-see show in Las Vegas right now? A: Jennifer Lopez: All I Have at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort. This woman is like fine wine, and she was born to perform. Her spirit on stage and the touching, personal stories she shares with the audience during her shows allow guests to relate with the “Jenny from the Block” star on a whole new level.
