audiences with their passion, technicality, and artistry. “I always choose dancers at the top of their careers to bring together, on the same night—the most exciting stars of the world,” says the gala’s creator Daniele Cipriani. “It’s a wonderful occasion to see how the dance world is excelling on the international stage.” Balletomanes can expect extracts from full-length ballets like Don Quixote, Il Corsaire, The Pharaoh’s Daughter, Romeo and Juliet, Diana and Actaeon, and the notoriously challenging crowd pleaser, Grand Pas Classique. The line-up will also include pas de deux Nureyev, first premiered in 2017 at the Bolshoi Ballet to great acclaim. An homage to French ballet dancerturned-choreographer Pierre Lacotte is also on the bill. The gala runs two days only, 20 and 21 January, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
