[WHERE INSIDE]

Tampa Bay Your Way UNIQUE TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS, FIT TO MATCH YOUR PERSONAL STYLE.

Aquatic Fun

LGBTQ Friendly

Craft Beer

A great way to relax and enjoy the sunny environs of the St. Pete/ Clearwater area, (1) fishing is a great solo and family activity—hotspots include Fort De Soto Park and Weedon Island Preserve. To experience the thrill of (2) parasailing, there’s no better place than Clearwater Beach, where daredevils can revel in the sun of the Gulf of Mexico. For some quality “me” time, a (3) kayaking trip at Caladeesi Island will put you in the midst of mangroves and other bird-nesting areas; should you wish to explore the white-sand beaches, shells are plentiful.

Tampa’s only Historic Landmark District, Ybor City, has for centuries been a melting pot of peoples and cultures. It’s no surprise, then, that it’s now the LGBTQ-friendly area affectionately called (1) GaYbor. Favorite spots include Hamburger Mary’s, the Honey Pot and Ybor Resort & Spa. For the beachgoing crowd, (2) Sunset Beach fits the bill; the Bohemian spirit is alive and well here. For culture vultures, (3) Tampa Theatre has been home to the city’s International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival for almost 30 years; it’s also part of Downtown Tampa’s Fourth Friday.

Tampa Bay’s Gulf Coast is home to the highest concentration of breweries in the state. Tampa-based (1) Big Storm Brewing Company is one of the fastest growing, housed in a gorgeous 16,000-square-foot facility with two tap room locations. (2) Cigar City Brewing incorporates the Latin culture and the city’s tobaccomaking history into products such as Jai Alai pale ale and Maduro brown ale. The beachside (3) Mad Beach Craft Brewing is the place to be at sunset; hoist a glass of Dolphin Drool pale ale, Kalypso Key Lime cider and Life’s a Beach wheat ale.
