Después de recorrer mapas, preguntas, miedos, pasiones y empren der una gran búsqueda de certezas, llegamos a este año, en nues tra sexta edición del mercado aferrados a la luz. Una luz que se asomaba por una pequeña ranura y que nos guió intuitivamente en los momentos de crisis, nos abrazaba en los miedos y nos iba aclarando el panorama poco a poco. La industria rompió la ranura y recorrió con pasos de gigante estos últimos 3 años; y fue la forma de adaptación de todos los agentes del cine la que plagó de destellos el horizonte y puso en foco la esperanza. Los nuevos modelos de negocio, de financiación, de consumo de contenidos y de formas de hacer cine reafirmaron la necesidad de colaboración en los procesos cinematográficos.

BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, the industry section of the Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, has positioned itself as the only market in Latin America dedicated to short films. The ideal scenario to strengthen and empower the different actors of the audiovisual sector essentially interested in short film formats, through collaboration strategies, creation, training, circulation and networking.
After going through maps, questions, fears, passions and undertaking a great search for certainties, we arrived at this year, in our sixth edition of the market clinging to the light. A light that peeked through a small slot and that guided us intuitively in moments of crisis, embraced us in our fears and clarified the picture little by little. The industry broke through the slot and took giant steps in the last 3 years; and it was the way in which all the agents of the film industry adapted that filled the horizon with glimmers of light and brought hope into focus. The new models of business, financing, content consumption and ways of making films reaffirmed the need for collaboration in the filmmaking process.
So today, more than ever, our market is essential, where we generate and sow awareness of joint work and solidarity, where we provide tools to face pro fessional processes, and where we provide spaces for dialogue and reflection on current industry issues.
En este 2022, BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market ha recibido cerca de 200 inscripciones de toda América Latina para sus diferentes actividades de industria, y le hemos abierto la puerta a más de 100 productores, directores, festivales, promotores, emprendedores, y agentes del sector audiovisual con realidades y enfoques diversos.
En esta edición, y gracias a los procesos de colaboración, el corto metraje ganador de In Vitro BFM recibirá un estímulo de aproxi madamente 50.000 dólares entre los que se encuentran recursos de producción, equipos de rodaje, servicios de postproducción, asesorías y acompañamiento durante el proceso de creación de esta nueva obra de cortometraje. A su vez, el proyecto ganador de la Incubadora BFM, recibirá un Fast track directo a la La Petite Fabrique , de Euro Connection 2023 en el marco del Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (Francia). Adicionalmente, un segundo cortometraje tendrá un Fast track directo a la selección de proyectos internacionales de Emergente! Cine Lab, Laboratorio de Desarrollo y Foro de Coproducción Internacional de Cortometrajes, organizado por AIC (Asociación de la Industria del Cortometraje) de Madrid. Basándose en su estilo multicultural y multidisciplinario, NIETO abordará la interconectividad entre las artes plásticas y el cine, además de las oportunidades creativas que presenta este tipo de obra al circular en espacios alternativos, dife rente a la sala de cine.
Como poeta de la hecatombe, nos proyecta dulcemente ante el reflejo de nuestro propio abismo. NIETO ha podido abordar diferentes expresiones artísticas desde la pintura, la animación, la música, el cine, la videoinstalación, el performance, la dirección de óperas, la publicidad, entre otras. Su obra dialoga constantemente sobre la primitividad del ser humano, la moral, la veracidad, el lenguaje cinematográfico y rompe el discurso del artista plástico efectivo, para posicionarse como demiurgo de diferentes lenguas y culturas.
Our 6th BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market will have as its opening event an exclusive masterclass by the artist and audiovisual creator, NIETO. Based on his multicultural and multidisciplinary style, NIETO will address the interconnectivity between visual arts and cinema, as well as the creative opportunities that this type of work presents when circulating in alternative spaces, different from the movie theater.
As a poet of the hecatomb, he sweetly projects us before the reflection of our own abyss. NIETO has been able to approach different artistic expressions from painting, animation, music, cinema, video installation, performance, opera direction, advertising, among others. His work constantly dialogues about the primitiveness of the human being, morality, truthfulness, cin ematographic language and breaks the discourse of the effective plastic artist, to position himself as a demiurge of different languages and cultures.
Colombiano de nacimiento, afincado en París y expulsado de la École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de París en 2009, Nieto es un artista de medios mixtos, hoy representado por la galería Da-End de Francia, que trabaja como pintor, músico, cineasta/performer y, más recientemente, como director visual escénico de Óperas.
El extraño mundo de Nieto es barroco e irónico, y mezcla la ficción con una gran dosis de humor seco e intrigantes trucos visuales.
Su visión artística también se ha adaptado lúdicamente al mundo de la publicidad; actualmente está representado como director en Europa, Asia, Rusia y Estados Unidos.
Ha dirigido varios anuncios de televisión para marcas conocidas desde 2005.
Colombian born, Paris based and expelled from École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Paris in 2009, Nieto is a mixed-media artist; today he is represented by Da-End Gallery in France, he works as a painter, musician, filmmaker/performer and most recently as stage visual director of Operas.
Nieto’s weird world is baroque and ironic, blending fiction with a high streak of dry humor and intriguing visual tricks.
His artistic view has also playfully adapted into the advertising world; he is currently represented as a director in Europe, Asia, Russia and USA.
He has directed several TV commercials for known brands since 2005.
Programa de estímulos a la producción del primer cortometraje profesional de un equipo creativo compuesto por director, productor y guionista, para ser rodado en Bogotá, Colombia.
Los equipos en competencia participan activamente de múltiples actividades durante el festival hasta que al final, 5 grupos son preseleccionados para presentar un pitch presencial ante los jurados aliados de este componente quienes determi narán el ganador. El equipo obtendrá un estímulo cuantificado aproximadamente en 50.000 dólares que consisten en recursos para la producción, equipos de rodaje, servicios de postproducción de imagen y sonido, y asesorías y acompañamientos durante el proceso de producción en las diferentes áreas de la realización cinema tográfica: guion, producción, dirección, dirección de fotografía, dirección de arte, montaje y música, todas ellas impartidas por un grupo de reconocidos especialis tas de la industria nacional.
A través de esta convocatoria y gracias al apoyo de todos los aliados de In Vitro BFM, se han producido 8 cortometrajes. Estos cortometrajes han participado en diferentes festivales nacionales e internacionales y en su mayoría, los directores, guionistas y productores de estas películas han seguido cosechando logros en sus carreras cinematográficas.
Este año estrenamos el cortometraje ganador de In Vitro BFM 2021, ‘No contestes’ dirigido por David Alexander Durán Bialikamien y producido por Celia Alejandra Hurtado Acosta.
Grant program for the production of a first professional short film by a creative team com posed of a screenwriter, producer, and director; to be shot in Bogota.
The selected teams will participate in multiple activities during the festival, until five groups are shortlisted to present a face-to-face pitch before a jury who will determine the winners. The first prize winning team will receive a grant of approximately $ 50,000 USD, made up of production resources, filming equipment, image, and sound post production services, as well as advice and support on different areas of filmmaking during the production process such as scriptwriting, production, direction, photography direction, art direction, editing, and music, all taught by a group of renowned, national industry specialists.
Thanks to this program, and with the support of all BFM In Vitro partners, eight short films have been produced. These short films have participated in various national and international festivals and, for the most part, the directors, scriptwriters, and producers of these films have advanced in their cinematography careers.

During a passionate night between Alex and her boyfriend Julian, Alex receives insistent distress calls from her best friend Catalina, calls that he does not answer. The next morning Alex finds the distress messages. For this reason, Alex, his boyfriend, and a friend decide to go looking for her. But what they find is the house of a vampire thirsty for blood and death. Desarrolló un personaje Drag Queen para abordar el tema del terror desde una perspectiva de género. Como director se caracteriza por manejar varias estéticas en su propuesta de terror. Ganó la categoría In Vitro de la 19 versión de BOGOSHORTS.
Ha trabajado como productora en proyectos audiovisuales, cor tometrajes, contenido publicitario y obras teatrales desde el 2016 hasta la fecha. En 2020 creó Lynx creativos digitales, una agencia de publicidad y contenido audiovisual, con la que trabaja con dife rentes marcas importantes de marketing digital. Está en constante crecimiento artístico y laboral.
Director with a marked taste for horror, queer, and B movies. He graduated with a slasher short film called #DecomposedToys directed by him. He developed a Drag Queen character to address the theme of horror from a gender perspective. As a director he is characterized by handling various aesthetics in his horror proposal. He won the In Vitro category of the 19th version of BOGOSHORTS.
She has worked as a producer in audiovisual projects, short films, adver tising content and theater plays since 2016 to date. In 2020 she created Lynx creativos digitales, an advertising and audiovisual content agency, with which she works with different important digital marketing brands. She is in constant artistic and professional growth.

In 90’s Bogota, Enrique is a Policeman who’s been in this institution for years. In the midst of a bloodshed caused by the local drug war, he hands in the head of his own patrol partner for a couple of bucks; caving into his envy and desire to be promoted.

Una selva de cemento y Sofía están en constante diálogo. Alienación Roja muestra lo que implica ser mujer desde una conversación, salir a la calle, tomar el transporte público o verse a sí misma. Son gorras rojas, momentos efímeros y algunos miedos que ven la luz. Una acción como caminar en la calle puede convertirse en la alie nación momentánea de una persona que choca con la energía destructiva que la persigue y está presente. Sofía solamente existe, pero ese fragmento de su vida evidencia el acto político y revolucionario que implica ser mujer. A concrete jungle and Sofia are in constant dialogue. Red Detachment shows what it means to be a woman from a conversation, going out in the street, taking public transportation or seeing herself. They are red caps, ephemeral moments and some fears that see the light. An action like walking in the street can become the momentary detachment of a person who collides with the destructive energy that chases her and is present. Sofia only exists, but that fragment of her life evidences the political and revolutionary act of being a woman.

Duvan se convierte en un símbolo de justicia para las minorías y los desfavorecidos. Esta justicia le costará y tendrá que enfrentarse a peligrosos grupos de poder. Set in a city where inhabitants have to face crime, impunity, discrimination, corruption, neglect and street violence; Duvan, a police officer in Bogota, now has to deal with a turmoiled life after his brother is murdered in a gender-discrimination hate crime. Duvan becomes a symbol of justice for minorities and the underprivileged. This justice will come at a cost and he will have to face powerful and dangerous groups.

Luego de huir en su infancia de los abusos de su padre, Alfredo, ya convertido en hombre, regresa a su pueblo natal para asistir al velorio de su difunta madre. Al lle gar, Alfredo se da cuenta de que todo lo que alguna vez conoció ha desaparecido. Don Manuel, su padre, un viejo borracho y solo, se enfrenta a su llegada. Juntos deben dejar sus diferencias de lado para emprender un viaje hasta la laguna y cumplir el último deseo de ella.
After fleeing his father’s abuse as a child, Alfredo, now a man, returns to his hometown to attend his late mother’s wake. Upon arrival, Alfredo realizes that everything he once knew is gone. Mr. Manuel, his father, a drunk and lonely old man, confronts his arrival. Together they must put aside their differences to embark on a journey to the lagoon to fulfill her last wish.

En una casa remota en el bosque Liliana recibe una llamada anunciando la exhu mación de su esposo. Ella viaja dejando a su hija Emma sola en casa. Esa noche Emma divaga entre el baúl de fotos de su padre, de repente comienzan a pasar sucesos extraños. Es acechada por una presencia que la atormenta llevándola a salir corriendo desesperada por el bosque donde se enfrenta al espectro de su padre quien le pide a Emma superar su muerte y sus traumas. Al otro día regresa Liliana y juntas hacen una hoguera con los restos como primer acto de liberación. In a remote house in the woods, Liliana receives a call announcing the exhumation of her husband. She travels, leaving her daughter Emma alone at home. That night Emma wanders through her father’s photo trunk. Suddenly, strange things happen. She’s haunted by a presence that torments her, leading her to run desperately through the woods where she’s confronted by the specter of her father, who asks Emma to overcome his death and her traumas. The next day Liliana returns and together they make a bonfire with the remains as a first act of liberation.

Félix Navarro, es un abogado de 70 años, pensionado y adicto al crack. Vive con su hija Sofía, de 35 años, en un apartamento al norte de Bogotá. Él es adicto desde la universidad. Cuando Claudia, su esposa fallece, Félix se ahoga en su adicción sin control hasta sufrir un ataque cardíaco por una sobredosis. Sofía, una joven apasionada por la medicina naturista aconsejada por un profesor, convence a su padre de comenzar un tratamiento de desintoxicación con aceite de cannabis, logrando un resultado milagroso y salvando su vida.
Félix Navarro is a 70 year old retired lawyer and a crack addict. He lives with his daughter Sofia, 35, in an apartment in northern Bogota. He’s been an addict since college. When his wife Claudia dies, Felix drowns in his addiction losing control and suffers a heart attack due to an overdose. Sofia, a young woman who is passionate about naturopathic medicine, advised by a professor, convinces her father to enter rehab and begin a detox treatment using cannabis oil, achieving a miraculous result and saving his life.

Gabriela, a single mother, wants to give her daughter a Martian Rover model for her birthday. With no time or money, she starts making a homemade version with the help of her sister. A last-minute phone call forces Gabriela to stop making the toy and go to work. At work, she narrowly escapes a kidnapping attempt. Nota que los ancianos se valen de actos rituales, que en algunos casos involucran a las mascotas del barrio, siendo esto motivo para sospechar que hacen parte de algo que supera sus límites y le causa horror. Gladis siente que su esencia se desvanece de manera progresiva. Gladis is a 30-year-old woman who moves in with Sumak and Yana, an elderly couple who hired her to accompany them and take care of them. As she goes about her daily tasks, she perceives strange energies that lead her to doubt her permanence in the place. She notices that the elderly use ritual acts, which in some cases involve the pets of the neighborhood, this is being the reason to suspect that they are part of something that exceeds her limits and causes her horror. Gladis feels that her essence is gradually fading away.

Este año la Incubadora, en su proceso de ampliar la posibilidad de gestar cone xiones y posibles encuentros con otros lenguajes cinematográficos, otorgará un premio a un proyecto ganador seleccionado por los aliados, y recibirá un Fast track directo a la La Petite Fabrique, de Euro Connection 2023 en el marco del Clermont-Fe rrand International Short Film Festival (Francia), con la posibilidad de asistencia de su director(a) o productor(a) gracias al apoyo del Festival, de BOGOSHORTS - Festival de Cortos de Bogotá y de la embajada de Francia en Colombia. Además, se premiará a otro proyecto ganador seleccionado por los aliados, el cual recibirá un Fast track directo a la selección de proyectos internacionales de Emergente! Cine Lab, Laboratorio de Desarrollo y Foro de Coproducción Internacional de Corto metrajes, organizado por AIC (Asociación de la Industria del Cortometraje) de Madrid, con la posibilidad de asistencia de su director(a) o productor(a).
Adicionalmente, la Incubadora abrió de nuevo la convocatoria para participan tes de Iberoamérica, posibilitando los procesos de internacionalización para la consolidación, financiamiento y posterior circulación de los proyectos. Después de una sólida y fuerte convocatoria se recibieron alrededor de 100 proyectos de países como Perú, Bolivia, México, Chile, Cuba, Uruguay, entre otros. Los proyectos seleccionados de cortometraje se destacaron por su originalidad, pertinencia y solidez, y sus directores y productores ahora se están preparando para aprove char al máximo los encuentros que tendrán durante el BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market.

Like every day, before dawn, Alba gets on her bicycle and rides with a smile the deserted sidewalk roads that separate her from school, however, this quiet reality is dislocated when two men on a motorcycle sexually abuse her. As a result, their home is revealed as a hostile scenario for Alba and Mercedes, her mother, because Julio, the family patriarch, points to the girl as the culprit and forces them to live as if nothing had happened in order to keep up appearances in the village.

Agustin, a 60-year-old actor, is abruptly approached by three men in a cab, around midnight in the city of Bogota, in the year 2019. Los recuerdos de Estela, una mujer que trabajó allí durante su juventud, rememoran los primeros años de la fábrica junto a sus compañeras así como su aprendizaje del tejido tradicional en guanga transmitido por su madre. Este documental revisita los vestigios del intento truncado de modernización así como la frágil supervivencia del tejido en guanga.
In the middle of the Nariño Andes, the old textile factory of the village of El Contadero lies in ruins. The memories of Estela, a woman who worked there during her youth, recalls the early years of the factory with her companions as well as her apprenticeship in traditional guanga weaving passed down by her mother. This documentary revisits the vestiges that remain of this truncated attempt at modernization as well as the fragile survival of guanga weaving

Las mujeres de mi edad es un documental autobiográfico a modo de viaje de auto rreconocimiento. A partir de la experiencia vivida en un laboratorio audiovisual con mujeres mayores de 50 años que responden la pregunta: ¿Qué soñabas ser cuando eras adolescente y quién eres hoy realmente? Tere, una de las participan tes, y Oveida, la directora, encontrarán un paralelo entre sus vidas que las hará reflexionar sobre el ser mujeres hoy y generar un cambio en ellas. The Women of My Age is an autobiographical documentary about a journey of self-recog nition. Based on the experience lived in an audiovisual laboratory with women over 50 who answer the question: What did you dream of being when you were a teenager and who are you really today? Tere, one of the participants, and Oveida, the director, will find a parallel between their lives that will make them reflect on being women today and generate a change in the rest of the participants.

Yoluja, ”el demonio”, como se refiere Alfredo al tren carbonero, viene cargado de espíritus malignos que se bajan y ator mentan sus sueños, al punto de atraer sus vidas a las peligrosas vías del tren. Yoluja, es una inmersión sensorial y onírica del día a día de este pueblo, sus sueños, los viajes subacuáticos, la muerte y la presencia del tren que llega para nunca irse de sus vidas. Alfredo Pushaina, a Wayú fisherman, was 18 years old when he was banished from his ances tral lands. Today, 35 years later, the promised progress that El Cerrejón’s coal will bring never arrived for the communities. Yoluja, “the demon”, as Alfredo refers to the coal train, comes loaded with evil spirits that get off and haunt their dreams, to the point of luring their lives onto the dangerous train tracks. Yoluja, is a sensory and dreamlike immersion of the day to day life of this town, their dreams, underwater travel, death and the presence of the train that arrives never to leave their lives.

La naturaleza a su alrededor nace, crece y muere ace leradamente, pero su asombro acaba cuando reaparece su celular robado. Aferrado de nuevo a su dispositivo, El se vuelve viejo sin encontrarle sentido al juego; cuando decide abandonarlo, el Personaje misterioso reaparece para hacerle una revelación. El, a young man addicted to watching news on his cell phone pays little attention to what is going on around him. After his cell phone is stolen, El finds a helmet that takes him to a surreal world where he becomes El Internauta. In this world of fantastic nature, he meets a mysterious Character. The nature around him is born, grows and dies rapidly, but his aston ishment ends when his stolen cell phone reappears. Clinging again to his device, he grows old without making sense of the game; when he decides to abandon it, the mysterious Character reappears to give him a revelation.

Allí, él recibe de la Pachamama el poder tucun para trans formarse en un ser sobrenatural prehispánico que cuida y preserva los páramos y con ellos al planeta y la humanidad.
Tuktu, father corn, is an animated short film that narrates the transformation of Juan, a peasant boy who, while trying to flee from war, accidentally falls into a sacred tomb. There, he receives the tucun from the Pachamama, giving him the power to transform himself into a pre-hispanic supernatural being who cares for and preserves the moors, and with them, the planet and humanity.

La cultura israelí es una fusión de diversas costumbres locales e internacionales donde la historia y la modernidad se unen a través de la innovación.
Desde el BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, reconocemos a los festivales nacio nales e internacionales que cuentan con sección de cortometrajes, incluidos los festivales universitarios, como escenarios fundamentales para impulsar a los rea lizadores emergentes de nuestro país.
Una de nuestras principales búsquedas es analizar el estado actual de la gestión que se realiza desde los eventos cinematográficos, donde BOGOSHORTS además de buscar fortalecer su distribución, propicia los espacios para que se encuentren con nuevos proyectos y puedan compartir e intercambiar conocimientos e infor mación sobre programación, innovación y desarrollos nacionales e internacionales en el sector audiovisual.
La primera versión de Voces BFM en 2018 reunió cerca de 20 festivales de cine universitario, la segunda versión en 2019 tuvo la participación de cerca de 50 fes tivales de cine universitario y festivales nacionales reunidos alrededor de distintas actividades para reflexionar sobre el funcionamiento y poner en perspectiva metas claras a corto plazo. En el 2020 se contó con las distintas asociaciones que agru pan a los festivales a nivel nacional y de América Latina. Durante el 2021, Voces BFM expandió su espacio Fishing Festivals para que muchos más festivales tuvieran encuentros con los participantes de la Incubadora BFM y de las competencias del Festival.
Las actividades de Voces BFM 2022 permitirán que Fishing Festivals se siga consoli dando, y será el inicio del camino para que la promoción del cortometraje encuen tre nuevos escenarios, a través de diferentes canales digitales, gracias al encuentro con creadores de contenidos especializados en dichos espacios.
From the BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, we recognize the national and international festivals that have a short film section, including university festivals, as fundamental scenarios to promote the emerging filmmakers of our country.
One of our main goals is to analyze the current state of the management of film events, where BOGOSHORTS, in addition to seeking to strengthen their distribution, provides spaces for them to meet new projects and to share and exchange knowledge and information on pro gramming, innovation and national and international developments in the audiovisual sector.
The first version of BFM Voices in 2018 brought together about 20 university film festivals, the second version in 2019 had the participation of about 50 university film festivals and national festivals gathered around different activities to reflect on the operation and put in perspective clear short-term goals. In 2020, the various associations that bring together festivals at the national and Latin American level were present. During 2021, BFM Voices expanded its Fishing Festivals space so that many more festivals could meet with the partic ipants of the BFM Incubator and the Festival’s competitions.
The activities of BFM Voices 2022 will allow Fishing Festivals to continue to consolidate, and will be the beginning of the way for the promotion of short films to find new scenarios, through different digital channels, thanks to the meeting with specialized content creators in these spaces.
Este componente consiste en charlas académicas, dictadas por profesionales de primera línea pertenecientes a la industria audiovisual nacional e internacional, que buscan profundizar en algunas áreas cruciales de la producción cinematográ fica y sus diferentes etapas, con el objetivo de que los participantes del mercado adquieran mejores herramientas para afrontar sus producciones audiovisuales. De la mano de cineastas colombianos y expertos en dichos temas buscamos generar un diálogo más cercano con creadores y realizadores que están desa rrollando sus proyectos de cortometraje.
This component consists in academic talks, dictated by leading professionals from a national and international film industry, who seek to delve into some crucial areas of film production and its different stages, with the aim that market participants acquire better tools to face their audiovisual productions. With the help of Colombian filmmakers or experts in these topics, we seek to generate a close dialogue with creators and filmmakers who are developing their short film projects.

En esta charla, a través de la gran experiencia en gestión de proyectos empresariales de Javier Nieto, gerente de CityU, tendremos una introducción que nos permitirá conectar y entender el contexto empresarial y de negocios con la producción de cine.
One of the conflicts that directors and producers face in the professional world is the financial management of films. Today it is more than urgent to understand the world of negotiation, project sales, business thinking and empowering creative processes that do not compete with the economic life of the projects. Cinema is consolidated as an art industry, this is not only due to the genius of knowing how to tell stories, but to know how to undertake the best commercial routes to make stories possible and make a living from them. Throughout the history of cinema, production designers have conceptualized the director’s vision and have brought to the stage the artistic design of the image, with them, they have offered us on the screen iconic visual worlds where stories, characters and emotions inhabit. Este será un espacio en el que también aprovecharemos para abordar el poder de la luz en Bogotá, de la mano de Jorge Mario Vera, director de fotografía, restaurador fílmico y creador del Salón Internacional de la Luz, junto a Andrés Gutiérrez, cinematógrafo con más de 20 años de experiencia de reconocidas películas y series de televisión; y Juana González, directora de fotografía de renombrados cortometrajes y documentales colombianos.
Cinema is the art of light, it is the basis with which we work the image and where we glimpse the paths of narrative expressions. In this talk, members of the Association of Directors of Cinematographic Photography of Colombia (ADFC) will share with us the paths that producers and directors should take into account in order to have a more coherent dialogue with their cinematographers. This will be a space in which we will also take the opportunity to address the power of light in Bogotá, from the hand of Jorge Mario Vera, cinematographer, film restorer and creator of the International Hall of Light, along with Andrés Gutiérrez, cinematographer with over 20 years of experience of renowned films and television series; and Juana González, director of photography of renowned Colombian short films and documentaries.

Saber comunicar desde la dirección de cine lo que se quiere decir con la composición musical, exige echar mano de recursos creativos y editoriales, y comprender un lenguaje que dialoga constantemente con el lenguaje cinematográfico. En esta charla, Paola A. Trujillo, supervisora musical de Berklee College of Music y cofundadora de ITCAM Music, y David A. Trujillo, compositor, productor y cofundador de ITCAM Music, nos permitirán conocer y entender el proceso de musicalización para cortometrajes, y las formas de entablar comunicaciones entre la dirección, la supervisión musical y la composición. Además, exploraremos los tipos de musicalización y el potencial narrativo de cada uno.
Music has crossed from its particular language the emotions of countless audiences in cinema, it has been used as a tool to strengthen the story and guide the reactions of the narratives. Knowing how to communicate from film direction what one wants to say with the musical composition requires the use of creative and editorial resources, and understanding a language that constantly dialogues with the cinematographic language. In this talk, Paola A. Trujillo, music supervisor at Berklee College of Music and co-founder of ITCAM Music, and David A. Trujillo, composer, producer and co-founder of ITCAM Music, will allow us to know and understand the process of musicalization for short films, and the ways to establish communications between direction, music supervision and composition. Three lawyers, experts in the legislation of the creative industries in Colombia, present three ways to navigate and take advantage of the laws, public and private funds, and commercial circuits when financing, producing and distributing short films in the country. Based on their knowledge of the search for resources and financing, the legality of cinematographic works, and the commercialization of films, Ómarjavier Umaña, lawyer and copyright advisor, Andrés Jaramillo, lawyer and expert in intellectual property and competition law, and Patricia Ren jifo, lawyer and expert in intellectual property and media and entertainment law, will show us the opportunities that exist in Colombian legislation to make a sustainable film.

Knowing how to present a story and win over an audience also implies doing so in the process of seeking financing. The juries in competition, partners and potential investors become the first audience with which the project must dialogue. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the ways to present productions to agents interested in supporting and making the story possible, and to stand out among so many options. Las oportunidades para descubrir nuevas producciones en formato corto y fomentar la circulación de obras de jóvenes realizadores, se complementan con la proyección de dos programas de cortometrajes relacionados con diferentes componentes del BFM.
The BFM Videolibrary is a tool for the personalized visualization of audiovisual content in short format, produced in Ibero-American countries and submitted to the 2022 call for entries of the Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, to which industry accredited individuals will have exclusive access at individual viewing stations located at the market’s official headquarters. Programmers, distributors, buyers, and other industry players attending the festival will have the opportunity to view fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental short films, with a maximum length of 30 minutes; this, to provide commercial exhibition windows. This year, industry professionals from other cities and countries will also have access to the videolibrary. The BFM Videolibrary is supported by the ShortFilmDepot platform.
The opportunities to discover new short-format productions and encourage the circulation of works by young filmmakers are complemented by the screening of two short film programs related to different components of the BFM.
