A Resident or Nonresident Card is required in order to enter any Wentzville Parks and Recreation Facilities and allows us to better track attendance at our facilities. Nonresident Cards will expire after one year.

Resident Cards enable Wentzville residents to access recreation facilities, recreation programs and classes at discounted resident prices. Cards can be obtained at the WREC, Progress Park Recreation Center, Wentzville Ice Arena and Splash Station (during the season). Each resident, age 2 and up, must have a Resident Card in order to access the facilities at the resident rate.

• Reduced rates on annual passes, daily admission and City facility reservations

Parks and Recreation Board

This volunteer advisory group to the Board of Aldermen, Mayor and Director of Parks and Recreation, serves as a sounding board by holding public meetings and exercising influence throughout the City to improve and expand recreational opportunities. Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Aldermen for a three-year term. The Parks and Recreation Board (PARB) meets at 6:30P on the first Monday of each month at Wentzville City Hall (1001 Schroeder Creek Blvd.). The meetings are open to the public. Meeting agendas are provided on the City’s website at www.wentzvillemo.gov/agendas.

Tree Committee

Wentzville has been recognized for 11 consecutive years as a "Tree City USA" recipient. In the fall of 2014, Wentzville's Parks and Recreation Board created the Tree Committee, which reviews the City's tree and landscape ordinances. The Arts and Programs Committee of Wentzville, Missouri, is a volunteer nonprofit committee of the City’s Parks and Recreation Board. The Committee engages the community of Wentzville in an appreciation for art in its various forms. News, information and education are disseminated to the community by the committee to demonstrate the value of creativity and craft for generations to come.

When registering over the phone or online it is presumed that you agree to the following Hold Harmless Statement: I hereby release and agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the City of Wentzville, Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department and the City's agents, employees, elected officials and volunteers from and against any and all liability, actions, causes of actions, claims, demands or lawsuits whatsoever resulting from or arising out of personal injuries, including death, loss of or damage to property or involving any impairment of or damage to any right because of or in any way related to the City resulting from my participation in this activity. I also authorize any photos/videos taken of myself and/or the participant, to be used in any publicity or promotional materials by the Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department.

If you do not want yourself or your child photographed/filmed, please notify the administration office in writing in advance of the program starting.

COVID-19 Provisions

We will continue to monitor the recommendations of the St. Charles County Public Health Department and the state of Missouri closely. As the situation continues to develop, recommendations to modify, postpone or cancel large events may occur. Wentzville Parks & Recreation Register for a Program

Register Early

All programs must meet minimum enrollment in order to be offered. If there are not enough registrants, a course must be canceled. Unless otherwise noted, all registrations must be received a minimum of one week prior to the start of the first class. Wentzville Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel, postpone, combine classes or change instructors as needed. If a class is canceled due to lack of enrollment, registered class participants will be notified of an alternate class or program if one is available or a full refund check or credit slip will be processed within four weeks.

Gift cards can be purchased for classes and annual passes to any facility in the Wentzville Parks and Recreation system. For more information, please call (636) 332-9236.

Payment and Returned Checks

Full payment is required at the time of registration, unless otherwise noted. Upon registering, customers agree to all rules, regulations and policies. A 2% surcharge will be added to all credit or debit card transactions. A $15 charge will be applied for returned checks.

Field and Facility Rentals

Whether it's a family outing, corporate picnic, wedding or other special event, we make it easy for you to host your event. We have athletic fields, ice rinks, a banquet hall, pavilions, pools and more to meet your needs. Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Refund Guidelines

• A full (100%) refund, credit or transfer will be given if Wentzville Parks and Recreation cancels the program or rental.

• If the participant withdraws from the program before the first class or game,* the Department must receive a request and a full refund will be given, less a $10 administrative fee. The refund will be processed as a credit to the household account.** Credit can be used on future programs. A credit may be used by any member on the same household account.

• If the participant withdraws from the program any time after the first class or game, the Department requires a request and a prorated credit to the account will be given, less a $10 administrative fee.** No refunds will be issued after the program or session is half over.

• Refunds for medical reasons, requested prior to the start date of the program, will be granted a full refund** subject to verification.

• Any refunds processed for volunteer coaching will be applied to the household account for future purchases.

• An administrative cancellation fee of $10 will apply to all field rentals.

• A cancellation for a Progress Park Center reservation will forfeit the deposit.

• A gym or pavilion cancellation must be submitted at least thirty days prior to the reservation. A full refund will be issued minus a $10 administrative fee. Reservation cancellations submitted less than 30 days, but more than 14 days prior to the reservation will be refunded at 50% of the rental fee or the reservation can be rescheduled minus a $10 administrative fee. Reservation cancellations submitted less than 14 days prior to the reservation will forfeit the rental fee or the reservation can be rescheduled minus a $10 administrative fee.

• If a participant withdraws from a program after supplies or tickets have been purchased, the refund will be pro-rated minus these expenses.

*No refunds will be issued for adult leagues after the registration deadline.

**All youth league refunds will be less the cost of uniforms.

Wentzville Parks & Recreation Rates and Hours

Wentzville residents are those living within the city limits of the City of Wentzville. City limits and Post Office boundaries are not the same, so it’s possible to have a Wentzville address yet live outside the city. A Household Annual Pass consists of two adults and three children, 22 years of age or younger, living in the same household. More children may be added to a pass for an additional fee.

Private Field Sections: Reserve a private 20-foot-by-20-foot section of the field for your family or group of friends to hunt on.

Your dog will bark for bones when all kinds of dog treats, bones and toys are hidden for your furry friends. Before the hunt begins, each dog will receive a “doggie bag” to take home and to hold their yummy finds. We will also draw for door prizes. Please provide proof of vaccination by emailing to fun@wentzvillemo.gov. Those without proof of canine vaccinations at the time of the event will not be allowed to participate. Please be on time for this event because it doesn’t take long for the dogs to gather all the treats! Dogs must remain on leashes at all times. (Min 20/Max 75)

Invite the Easter Bunny to stop by your home for a special hello and toss 25 Easter eggs on your front lawn. Egg deliveries will take place from 9A-5P. Participants may not request a specific visit time as routes are designed to ensure the most efficient deliveries. You may purchase an extra 20 eggs for an additional $15. A tracking system will allow you to receive notifications from the Easter Bunny as he makes his way to your home! This program is for Wentzville residents only. (Min 20/Max 100)

TRASH CAN ARTWORK CONTEST

Citywide Grades: K-12

Team up with the City of Wentzville to raise public awareness about preventing litter in our local parks and community. Participants will create a landscape-layout (horizontal) design to wrap around a trash can on a 24-inch-by-36-inch poster board. Contest winners will have their artwork displayed in one of the City of Wentzville's parks and win a $25 prize. The contest opens MAR 6 and all entries are due APR 3. Contest winner(s) in each age group will be announced by MAY 1 and will be invited to an awards ceremony at City Hall next spring. The annual Fourth of July Parade starts at 10A at the Wentzville Ice Arena and travels south on Luetkenhaus Boulevard, turns right onto Pearce Boulevard and ends at the Wentzville Community Historical Society Museum. Everyone is invited to participate in the parade by designing a float.

This year’s theme is, "God Bless the U.S.A.” Floats will be judged for overall first-, second- and third-place, along with Mayor’s Choice and Best Themed Entry for first- and second-place. SEA TURTLE

Ages: Preschool (Ages 3-4)

Skills to be mastered: front and back kick with instructor support, submerge head, feet-first jump, entering and exiting pool without assistance.

STINGRAY

Ages: Level 1 (Ages 5+)

Skills to be mastered: front and back kick with instructor support, feet-first jump, submerge head, entering and exiting pool without assistance and back float with instructor support.

MARLIN

Ages: Level 2 (Ages 5+)

This level is for those who are comfortable in the water and ready to become more independent swimmers. Skills to be mastered: submerge head and face, front and back kick without support, basic front and back crawl.

WALRUS

Ages: Level 3 (Ages 5+)

This level will further develop strokes and build basic technique and endurance. Skills to be mastered: submerge head and face without hesitation, front crawl with rhythmic breathing, basic front and back crawl. This class may spend time in water 7 feet deep.

DOLPHIN

Ages: Level 4 (Ages 5+)

Skills to be mastered: front stroke, backstroke, elementary backstroke, treading water for 60 seconds and basic performance of breaststroke and sidestroke. This class spends time in water 7 feet deep.

SHARK

Ages: Level 5 (Ages 5+)

This level is the most advanced and focuses almost entirely on technique and preparation for swim team or fitness swimming. Skills to be mastered: advancement in basic stroke skill, treading water for two minutes without using hands, retrieve brick from bottom of pool, flip turns, basic butterfly stroke, starts and entries.

AQUA AEROBICS

In this aquatic class, you will enjoy the natural buoyancy of water, while conditioning every muscle group. Participants will benefit from this lowimpact workout that features exercises for all levels of aqua aerobics. Classes will be held in the Lap Pool and entry/exit is by ladder stairs or ADA lift. Classes consist of cardiovascular work, speed and endurance training, partner resistance, strength training with dumbbells, body bars, kettlebells, medicine ball drills and plyometrics! Participants can gain strength, tone up, build muscle and lose weight.

The 30-minute InBody test provides a quick and accurate body composition analysis that provides a detailed breakdown of your weight in terms of muscle, fat and water. LEARN-TO-SKATE

Wentzville Ice Arena

Ages: 3+

This class will build confidence on and off the ice and teach balance, coordination and the fundamentals of skating. Classes are held Thursdays at 4:50P or 5:20P and Saturdays at 10:20A or 11:00A, depending on age. Registration includes skate rental and a punch card for admission to eight public skate sessions. This program is 30 minutes long. No class on FEB 18.

Snowflake 1

Ages: 3-6

This class teaches the basics of skating including how to fall down and get up off and on the ice as well as how to march forward. (Min 4/Max 15)

Snowflake 2

Snowflake 2 teaches building block skating skills forward and backward as well as how to glide forward and builds confidence. (Min 2/Max 10)

Snowflake 3

Snowflake 3 students will get more involved in skating forward and backward and begin edge work of the skate blades with an introduction to stopping. (Min 2/Max 10)

Snowflake 4

This class covers basic forward and backward skating skills, including forward stroking, forward crossovers in both directions and one foot snow plow stops. (Min 2/Max 10)

LEARN-TO-SKATE HOCKEY

Does your child dream of playing hockey competitively? It all starts here at our Learn-to-Skate Classes. These classes will teach you the basics of skating geared to children who want to play hockey. Registration includes a jersey and a punch card for a free public session or Stick ‘N’ Puck. Equipment fitting will be on DEC 29 and MAR 2 from 5-7P.

Level 1

Learn the basics from falling and recovery to basic hockey stance. Your skater will also learn how to stand and march on their own without assistance. (Min 10/Max 25)

Level 2

Skaters who can stand and move on their own are ready for this level. There they will learn basic forward skating strides, stopping (snow plow) and backward skating is introduced. (Min 5/Max 20)

These classes are designed to teach basic hockey skills (stick handling, shooting, skating and passing). In order to enroll in this class, your player must know how to skate backward, crossover and stop without running into the boards. They must also be able to skate from one side of the rink to the other and be able to turn in both directions, all without falling. Skaters will be broken into groups on the first day based on age, size and skill level. A report card will be given at the conclusion of the session to show you where your skater excels or needs improvement and will also tell you if your skater needs to enroll again or graduates the program. Registration includes a jersey and a punch card for a free public skate or Stick ‘N’ Puck session. Equipment fitting night will be on DEC 29 and MAR 2 from 5-7P. (Min 10/Max 30)

Our Youth Hockey League is for players in the 8U and 10U divisions who are either new to hockey or are looking for a recreational team. The Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department is part of the New Horizons Youth Baseball League (NHYBL). This league consists of Lake St. Louis, New Melle, Dardenne Prairie, Wright City and Flint Hill. Games are played Monday-Friday starting in mid-April. Practices will occur at the discretion of the coach. Teams will receive one free practice per week. All standings, games and team information for this league is on www.quickscores.com/nhybl. First- and second-place teams in each division are provided trophies by their home associations. 7U & 8U will play machine pitch. 9U and up will play player pitch. Jerseys and hats are provided for participants registering as individuals. For team registration, the coach must have at least 10 players, pay the team fee at the time of registration and provide a roster. No practice or games MAY 29, JUL 3 or JUL 4. (Min 10/Max 200)

This program develops the essential skills needed to play soccer. It focuses on balance, coordination, participations, sportsmanship and sharing. No class APR 9 or MAY 14. (Min 5/Max 25)

This recreational soccer league is offered for children of all abilities. Registration is based on birth year. All participants will receive a jersey and soccer ball. Participants in divisions U4-U7 will be placed on coed teams and will receive an award at the end of the season. Participants in divisions U8U14 can register to play in coed or girls' leagues (girls may also register in the coed league).

The first-place team in the U8-U14 divisions will receive an award at the end of the season. Game times vary each week beginning no earlier than 8A. Practices will occur at the discretion of the coach. All age divisions will be scheduled for seven games, with a six-game guarantee. Makeup games may be played on Sundays or other days if needed. There will be no games on Easter weekend. Age divisions and genders may be combined based on enrollment if needed.

The Wentzville Lacrosse Club brings you this two-hour clinic that focuses on the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun environment. Players will participate in a variety of drills, which focus on the techniques of catching, throwing, weak-hand training, ground balls and basic defensive/offensive concepts. Players will be broken up by skill level, age and gender. All players should wear cleats or sturdy athletic shoes and bring a water bottle. Join us in the kitchen for a series of 90-minute classes that introduce you to the exciting art of cooking. Students will bake a dish under close adult supervision and learn the basics to prepare them for Kids Cooking — Master Chef. (Min 5/Max 10)

Calling all master chefs! Students will independently bake a new dish under adult supervision in this two-hour class and should be prepared to work with toaster ovens. Participants under the age of 10 may be accepted to participate if they have taken Kids Cooking — For Beginners. (Min 5/Max 12)

Calling all teen singers, dancers, jugglers, magicians, comedians and more! We are searching for a variety of local talent to perform at our events. Selected performers will take the stage for up to 30 minutes and share their talent, skill or ability with the community. All participants must complete an application and could be called upon to display their skills via an interview.

Each day will include fun games, a craft, wacky activities and the opportunity to make new friends. Day Camp will run 9A-4P. 2. While your child is at camp, they will develop their swimming and ice-skating skills with weekly lessons.

We would love to make your next party special. You choose the location and let us take care of the rest.

Gamers will love the all new WREC eSports Party! This package includes a two-hour room rental in the conference room for six guests or the lab for parties of seven or more. An eSports Game Master will be your party host for all your party needs.

Party at the Pool is now available all year long! It is a great way to cool off, have fun and celebrate! Packages include pool admission for all guests and are offered at the WREC, Progress Park Pool and Splash Station Aquatic Center.

Party on the Ice at the Wentzville Ice Arena is a great way to chill and have a party! It takes place during Public Skate and includes a two-hour private party room in addition to admission to skate and skate rental for all guests.
