TESLA Plugging in When Do You Charge? s model 49,900 roadster and roadster sport 101,500/121,000 You charge your Tesla Roadster the same way you charge your cellular phone: You plug it into a wall socket whenever convenient. The vast majority of Tesla owners charge overnight. Each morning they wake up with the equivalent of a “full tank,” without ever visiting a gas station. How Far Can You Drive On A Charge? Driving in normal conditions (mixed city and highway conditions in a range of temperatures) results in “real world” range of 236 miles per charge. In fact, in October 2009 the Roadster set an EV record when owner, Simon Hackett, drove his car 313 miles on a single charge during the 10th Annual Global Green Challenge in Australia.

KARMA “World’s First Luxury Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle”
As we look at the devastation from the oil spill in the gulf we may want to prepare for the repercussion at the pumps. Of course there will be the clean-up and then we hear the co$t for the clean up and mean while we are listening our eyes are searching for the cheapest gas we can find. Now I am not paid by any particular oil company or gas station but while I drive through my city I see several constants: QT (Quik Trip) and Murphy USA (Wal-Mart) seem to be the cheapest in town. By-theway www.murphyusa.com is something you should check out until you sell enough downloads to step into a Fisker Karma or the Tesla. Let me do a quick breakdown on these amazing cars. First off, these rides cost some serious paper but they are well worth every dime. One is a fully electric rocket and the other is a hybrid that should send the other auto-makers back to the drawing board. On the left we have THE KARMA. Fisker Automotive is a green American car company. Four adults can ride in this sports car along with their luggage and travel in style and comfort. But
Driving THE NATURE OF LUXURY Luxury leads the way for the driver – and the environment – with the world’s first eco-chic cars created in equally eco-friendly facilities. The Karma’s dramatic proportions and sumptuous design offer smile-inducing performance. And the interior seats four adults with zero emissions. Zero compromise. And a cleaner conscience than ever before. THE NATURE OF TECHNOLOGY The Karma uses Q-DRIVE plug-in hybrid technology, developed exclusively for Fisker Automotive by Quantum Technologies. Venture further and the gasoline engine turns a generator to charge the lithium ion battery. Once the 50-mile electric range has been exceeded, This balance of electric and gas range makes it entirely possible that
6

if you are just hangin’ out and bouncin’ from club to club, you can bounce for days. A fullycharged Karma burns no fuel for the first 50 miles. After it reaches the 50-mile mark the car operates as a normal hybrid vehicle. If you charge the Karma overnight and commute less than 50 miles a day you could average fuel economy that equals to 100 mpg per year. Ballers, there’s a waiting list and cost $5,000 for the Fisker four-door plug-in hybrid sports sedan - the FISKER KARMA and a $25,000 deposits for the Fisker convertible – the FISKER KARMA S. On the next page is a sports car that goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, and it is 100% electric. You wanna talk about no more gas station! At the 10th Annual Global Green Challenge in Australia, owner, Simon Hackett, drove his car 313 miles on a single charge. The Tesla is as to fill up as it is to charge your cellphone. Of course prices are up there but, no more driving around town looking for the cheapest gas prices in town. From the pictures you can see Tesla’s don’t just offers 2 seaters, They offer 4 door sports car. These Hybrids are makin spending time with the “fam” fun. Tesla offers 4 models; 2 Roadsters ($101,500121,000), and 2 four-door models: The S ($49,000) and the S Signature (due out later this year). Thanks to these 2 car companies has added a flyness to saving the planet and in the long run saving your $$$$$.
friendly The concept was created between two independent companies who clearly wanted to make a difference in not only the automotive industry, but to the environment as well. Fisker Coachbuild, LLC and Quantum Technologies announced this joint venture partnership in September 2007. Fisker Coachbuild will provide exclusive design services for Fisker Automotive while Quantum Technologies (QTWW - a publicly traded company) will provide the latest technological advancements. Each car will feature cutting-edge plug-in hybrid penned as Q DRIVE exclusively for all Fisker Automotive vehicles. THE NATURE OF BEAUTY Environmentalism has never been more beautifully infused with elegance and style. Designer Henrik Fisker has taken the automotive hybrid to a new level of performance and style. With zero compromise in either category. Facts, graphics and photos obtained from company website, http://karma.fiskerautomotive.com/pages/karma,05/2010.

DJ/ MERK DJ Merk is a 24 year old DJ/CEO from a small city south of Houston called Lake Jackson, TX. DJ Merk is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University (PV). At PV is where he and partner, Chris Harrison, (aka Cash Capone), founded the independent music label known as NGenius Entertainment. NGenius has grown to be one of Texas’ most recognizable names in the music industry because of its first artist, Dorrough Music. Merk and Dorrough met at PV, where both attended. Doing countless mixtapes to grow their names throughout the campus and Houston areas led to Dorrough’s first single “Walk That Walk”. The single took almost 2 years to gain radio rotation but once it did, it took off. This song along with the follow up single “Ice Cream Paint Job” contributed to Merk inking Dorrough a deal with E1 Music (Koch Records) in 2009. Currently DJ Merk and Cash Capone are developing the label and forming future superstars in Lil Tony, Sean D Blanco, Ace Boogie B, Da Blockboi, and D Jo. When Merk isn’t working with talent, you can find him behind the turntables keeping clubs in Dallas live.

“E”
DJs are known to multi task between digging into crates for the next hit and making sure the crowd is in the right mood. In the case of E The R n B Hip Hop Rockstar, he has moves from the turntables to the mic. A native West Philadelphian E has been the recipient of the UIMA (Urban Independent Music Awards) for two consecutive years. The first honor was awarded in 2004 for “DJ of the year” and the second in 2005 for “R&B Artist of the year.” Very impressive I say so myself. I caught up with E during his down time for one of Mprinteds intensive DJ interviews. A DJ for 11 years, E mainly spins in clubs giving the crowd what they really want…To Party!
At the time of the interview the current single “Like That” had over 1100 views in 6 days after it was uploaded. His new album “The Prelude,” is available on all the major internet outlets and is available for download. As we discuss the current quality to quantity ratio of music being distributed we come to the agreement that some artist are putting out tracks without considering the project as a whole. E ends our interview with great advice to the aspiring artist and DJ “If you’re serious about being a DJ you have to play what the crowd wants, and to the artist out there, An album needs to consist of at least 13 solid tracks…Im here to expand the brand, E The RnB Hip Hop Rocstar.”
Being from the Philedelphia area E sands on the idea that all DJs are not created equal, but embrace the region tha they’re in, “In my opinion DJs adapt to their regions.”
Have you ever been paid to play a song?
Being paid to play a specific record comes with the territory…I get my tips from the fans.
Is there any local artists on your radar?
Lyricist, White Folkz, and so many others that I can’t name, so if I forget a name, don’t kill me.
What was the defining moment that made you expand your talents to performing on the microphone?
“A native West Philadelphian is the R&B/HIP HOP ROCKSTAR” 12 www.mprintmedia.com
It was my mother, she said “I want to hear you sing.’”
E The R n B Hip Hop Rockstar. Could you tell the readers whats behind the name? E The R n B Hip Hop Rockstar is all those genre’s
rolled into 1…all my performances are high energy.
Who were your DJ influences?
Inspired by Jam Master Jay, Jazzy Joyce (I do my homework) and my native Philadelphian DJ Jazzy Jeff.

DJ Wylout kept his love for music the inspiration and energy to keep on moving forward. As a child, he was surrounded by music and talent in his family and in church. He started out as the “Dancing Machine” and the “Beat Boxer” both in school and family functions. Watching different music videos as a child on “Friday Night Videos” and “Top 20’s” fed his hunger for music and entertainment. His strongest inspiration came after meeting a very special female DJ by the name of Khia “K Swift” Edgerton, ( R.I.P.), at a club called the Twilight Zone located in Harthorpe, Maryland. His love for DJing caused him to pay attention to the different styles that he saw in Baltimore. He has DJ’ed for artists such as Cappadonna, (Wu-Tang Clan), hip hop rapper, Lil Kim, and a long host of local and other performers. His video performances include, Cappadonnas “Cap is Bak”, 2 independent movies, “Choices of Men”, Fat City and is currently the DJ for singing sensation Shadina, (myspace.Com/shadina1). Realizing the different methods of being a DJ, sound engineer, and promoter, he then knew he could take his love for music further than just Baltimore Clubs. Meeting pioneer hip hop legend DJ Kool Herc also changed his outlook on the art of entertaining his audience. Ten years later, after leaving his full time job as a paramedic/firefighter to pursue music, he is a well known DJ, sound man, mc, and party starter in the Baltimore area. DJ Wylout was never an industry mix tape DJ, but has made several mixed cds. DJ Wylout has now started a series of “unorganized perfection”mixed cd’s. He is currently building his own organization of DJs, artists, and producers under the name “unorganized perfectionists” which means being perfect at being out side of the circle. He is currently DJ for Shadina, Baltimore ray, local artist beezy, his little brothers Teron and Dro. Also working with a family called the hand that feed you (www.Thehandthatfeedsyou. Net) finally his dreams are coming true. Normally just called “Wylout” ,he embraces that when on the turntables, his title is a “DJ”. So I proudly introduce to you the official, DJ wylout biography. Contacts: www.DJwylout@gmail.Com,myspace. Com/wylout booking info:(443)740-3626
Q&A with DJ Wylout
What was the worst DJ job you’ve ever had? The one where nobody showed up and the promoter disappeared.
Is there an artist you wont play and why?
I don’t judge by the artist, I judge by the songs meaning and the venue (ex. I wouldn’t play Gucci “ I’m The Shit” at a Wedding, or I wouldn’t play Steady Mobbing at a Kids Birthday party lol)
Who do you think benefits from mixtapes the most, DJs or artists? Depends...if a single DJ like DJ Drama do 7 mixtapes
with a bunch of nobodies, The DJ will get more props cause he is putting them out back to back and his name is getting known cause everybody can’t be a somebody, but, if an artist or label put a mixtape out, like gansta grillz, they will get the props. I dont do too many mixtapes....hire me live!
CDJ or wax, which do you prefer? Wax is always top but since
I broke my wrist, CDJ’s are a lot easier. Plus I never had a CDJ skip cause of the needle or the record melt cause of the heat at an outside event lol
Have you ever been paid to play a song while DJaying and if so how much? I was offered...I didnt take it, I listened to the
song first or thought about it and how the party was going, then I decided. If the song was inappropriate for the party or time of the party, I would try to explain. If the person asking wanted it and was pushy about it, I put my earphones on, looked at them, then talked to them through my music. Thats right, my team always in the building, security dont check me, my peeps, or my bags! Ya dig!?!
Have you ever broken a record in your market? A DJ isnt a DJ if he cant....I’m a DJ!
Who is your local celebrity indie artist on the rise in your area?
Baltimore has a lot of talent. First I’mma say my brothers Tae’ and Dro, then my family, Baltimore Ray, Skarr Akbarr, Shadina, Smash, Steve P, Fee Dot. Then the list goes on to the others that I listen too.
Who would you hire to DJ for you at an event and why? DJ Lil Mic, DJ Big L, DJ Twisted, DJ Hoff, DJ Mazz (both in L.A.), DJ J Saki, DJ 5 Starr...I got so many...I’mma Gemini so it depends on the mood and venue.
Is there a difference in DJ styles from around the country? Are you a show DJ or trick DJ? I’m Energy. I keep the trick Each style has to cater to the crowd. Some crowds like good energy, some like bad energy, my style is energy that make you Wylout.
DJs to people who want tricks, if you want a party, thats me!
Most influential DJ? Khia “DJ K-Swift” Edgerton! Rest in Peace. Our history was unknown to the world and I never had What has been the defining moment in your career? When I the chance to DJ for her, so I live in her shoes. decided to stop sittin’ back and letting the clowns take over!

He has so far been right on course with his DJing insight. Back in the day the DJ was just that, a DJ. As time moved on the DJ made a stronger foot-hole in the game. On the latter end of the spectrum is 14Kay. He talked to Mprinted on one of his busy mornings in L.A. where his 205 Entertainment and Screw U Records. 14Kay’s bio takes him beyond the DJ title. This DJ has spent some time behind the mic as well. His notable mention in this secition is because he has touched the turn-tables during his climb to the head of the industries most well known and highly respected entertainment companies. By being connected into all the college parties and doin the major venues down here like house of blues, dreams, metro, etc and also with my time at mixshow on radio, the first time people heard a lot of records was thru me. I even got a plaque from lil scrappy and trillville for breakin them down here. I’ve broken a ton of artists and records including my own artists.
There’s definitely a difference. In my experience east coast djs have a tendency to play records real short Who is your local celebrity indie artist on the ris in and “slam” them in. A Paragon in Entertainment
ness Manager Lisa Smith (l) and Vice President of A&R Shannon “Boss Lady” Parish (r) make up the powerhouse of Paragon Worldwide Entertainment. These ladies were doing what they do best... networking, when our paths crossed. I caught up the HLIC’s (Head Ladies In Charge) while they were taking 1 of the few breaks in their day. Lisa tells Mprinted, “We started Pargon Music in September of ‘09 as a division of Paragon Worldwide Entertainment, the parent compay.” The Fly Boyzz who are also featured in this issue is the labels first group. After hearing the groups single “Weekend,” you would understand why they were picked up by Lisa and Shannon. As we continue our SKYPE call, I’m informed that this all female company is not closed mind to any genre’ of music. “Gospel, Jazz, Country, Pop, and Heavy Metal are all genre’s we want to get involved with.”
“I like social networkin... it allows us to reach more people than we do in the street.”
Not the typical female staff these ladies are told to leave the egos at the house. Never to be pushed out the way or to be ignored Shannon makes it known to this male dominated industry that the the talent she brings through the door is not the one-hit wonders or the dig-it or dis-it artists. They are 100% worthy of being added to any Clear Chanel or Radio One Radio Station. When asked the favorite method of getting the music to the public, Shannon quickly let’s Mprinted know, “I like social networking...it allows us to reach more people than we do in the street.” These ladies have Paragon on more than the usual social networks, but they take their Paragon Profiles beyond those commonly used networks. As we discussed the important role of the DJ this month, I’m told that the Fly Boyzz are already in the hands of some of the biggest DJ’s in the industry. I must hand it to Paragon. They are vey viral with their company and if Mprinted knows anything about viral promnotion and marketing, Paragon is doing more than the right moves they are STANDING OUT on every network you log into. Paragon represents excellence, and Shannon and Lisa are proving that the company name fits. If you don’t know the company by now, log on and send a friend request to “The Boss Lady” and be on the front row of a monumental/Paragon performance.

Most people don’t decide on a career or discover their life path until they are in their early twenties. New Orleans singer/songwriter KOURTNEY HEART found at the age of three that performing was what she had come to do. Her interest in watching legends like The Temptations on Motown specials, as well as seeing her father perform in “real” life greatly influenced the toddler. Like many artists, she discovered the thrill of performing singing at church, but for KOURTNEY, there was no turning back. She got a glimpse of the future and that vision became her driving force, leading the young girl to diligently work toward her goal of becoming a recording artist. KOURTNEY HEART is young but has been paying her dues for some time. With the support of her family, she began to perform as often as possible – each time perfecting her craft, developing humility and growing as an entertainer. ues across the city. She has opened for a variety of performers including platinum-selling artists such as Kelly Price, Trey Songz and Chrisette Michelle. Ric Shea has stepped out of the shadows of independent Hip Hop and with his relentless attitude he is prepared to cut through the entertainment industry with the precision of a “Double Edged Sword.” Born and raised in the dangerous streets of South Side Chicago, Ric Shea found himself caught up in the violence and drug dealings that plagued his city. At the age of nine Ric discovered his talent for rhyming and would compete with his cousin in impromptu freestyle battles in and around his home. These battles would give Ric the practice he needed to begin perfecting his skills and he soon found himself paying less attention in school, as all of his time was spent on writing music to the beats he heard in his head. Ric’s father who is a well known Jazz musician immediately recognized his son’s musical talents and encouraged Ric to keep at it and never let up on his dreams of success. During this time Ric’s relentless attitude led him to connect with his long time friend A-Sharp Davis who Ric would collaborate with on a number of songs. Over time Ric and A-Sharp grew apart musically and Ric set out on his to continue building his artistic brand.
34 www.mprintmedia.com
Ric Shea has the industry buzzing and for good reason, his recently released “Double Edge” maxi single went out to three hundred cities around the country and impressively over 100 stations picked it up for rotation. Of these stations a radio station in Honolulu had the single as it’s number eight most requested song. The most impressive part of Ric Shea’s movement is that he created all of his buzz for himself with no major label backing. “Double Edge” has the fans and the industry calling for Ric Shea to release his highly anticipated debut solo album “Double Edge Complete” which will feature the legendary Cappadonna of The Wu Tang Clan. Ric Shea has spent years sharpening his skills and creating his buzz that stretches from the hoods of Chicago to the beaches of Hawaii. When asked of his plans for the future he simply states, “I plan on cutting my way through the entertainment industry and with the release of Double Edge Complete, the major labels will realize why they call me The Street Legend.” There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that soon enough Ric Shea aka The Street Legend will soon be known as The World Wide Legend.
