The SHRM certifications, the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP are now one year old and whether you received your certification through the tutorial process or by taking the exam, it is time to start thinking about recertification. Both SHRMCPs and SHRM-SCPs have three years to earn 60 Professional Development Credits (PDC) for recertification. One of the easiest ways to earn credit is through training and seminars. LEGAL COMPLIANCE ADA and FMLA for Managers and Supervisors: Stop, Look, and Listen SHRM This session is the next evolution in compliance training: a practical application of the ADA and FMLA for front line managers and supervisors. Basic I-9 Compliance HRCI SHRM New forms have new requirements! Fines are increasing and so is enforcement. Revised! The NLRB spends an inordinate amount of its time prosecuting non-union employers for seemingly innocuous policies and agreements that it says may restrict or discourage protected activity, and MSEC wants to help its members avoid finding themselves in a federal hearing. The session provides a brief overview of National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), including unfair labor practices, investigations, penalties, and how to prevent and defend against unfair labor practice charges. Discrimination in the Workplace: The Law of EEO HRCI SHRM ••• This is an overview of federal and state civil rights laws, along with practical tips employers can implement to reduce exposure for discrimination charges.
