MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR THOMAS FARO
Welcome to the Michigan Soccer Publication! Our publication is intended to provide you with information in preparation for club tryouts taking place no earlier than June 15, 2019. For future reference, the 2020 tryout date for MSYSA is no earlier than June 13, 2020. MSYSA will host the 2019 US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships in Saginaw, Michigan as part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the country’s oldest & most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. The games will take place at Saginaw Township Soccer Complex and will draw more than 4,100 players and an estimated 12,000 spectators over the course of the weeklong tournament. The tournament will take place on June 21-26, 2019 and will host more than 200 boys and girls teams, ages 13 to 19 from within the Midwest Region! Please visit the MSYSA website, www. michiganyouthsoccer.org, for volunteer information! TOPSoccer, The Outreach Program for Soccer, is a communitybased training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. MSYSA State TOPSoccer Programs are growing each year! We encourage you to reach out to your local program and participate! MSYSA is pleased to announce that the US Youth Soccer Midwest Region Olympic Development Program will be hosted, again, in Saginaw, Michigan this summer! Good luck to all players as they take their training to a new level in identification this summer! Additionally, for those teams competing in the MSYSA Spring State Cup, please be sure to follow MSYSA’s YouTube page as MSYSA will be live streaming all the State Cup Finals taking place this summer on June 2, 2019! Last fall, MSYSA live streamed the State Cup (Girls) Finals and reached over 9,000 views! In closing, thank you for playing important roles in the growth and development of our sport. 2019 MSYSA Olympic Development Program (ODP) ID Weekend Dates Announced Registration for the MSYSA ODP Identification Weekend (‘tryouts’) is now open through July 8, 2019. The Olympic Development Program is a national program to identify, develop and prepare youth players to represent their State, Region, and Country in soccer competitions. PLAYERS BORN IN 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 IDENTIFICATION WEEKEND FRIDAY, JULY 19-21, 2019 @ INDEPENDENCE PARK, CANTON Players & GKs wishing to participate in the ODP program should register for the ID Weekend and must attend all four sessions. Independence Park is located in Canton, Michigan (located at 1898 Denton Road, Canton, Michigan 48188). We will be offering early drop off and late pick up this year. Early drop off will begin at 8:00 and late pick up will end at 4:00. Cost will be $5.00 for each per day ($10.00 for both) and is in addition to the camp fee. If you plan to participate please indicate on the registration form the dates and which early/late/both sessions you will attend. We need to know in advance if you plan to use this service so that we can ensure staff is present.

Fall 2019 / Spring 2020 SELECT Tryouts Saturday, June 15, 9am-3pm (Specific division tryout times are yet to be determined)
Location: Wildlife Woods Park, 49000 W. 11 Mile Road (Novi) Annual price: $349 per Novi resident & $399 per non-resident (The price includes both the Fall & Spring seasons, uniform sold separately)
High competition without the sky-high costs! Teams practice twice weekly with eight games each season. Novi Parks Soccer Club is governed by WSSL and opportunities include SELECT and REC divisions. Players try out for the SELECT level teams; however, there are no tryouts for the REC travel teams. The SELECT teams are known as the NPSC Lightning and the REC teams are the NPSC Thunder. Players must pre-register (no cost) for SELECT Soccer Tryouts - NPSC Lightning at:
