W e w a n t a ni m m e d i a t e e n d t o t h e p o lice b r u t a l i t y a n d m o b attacks against the socalled Negro throughout the United States. W e b e l i e v e t h a t t h eF e d e r a l government should intercede t o s e ethat black m e n a n d w o m e n tried in white courts receive justice i n accordance with the laws o fthe land—or allow us t o b u i l d a n e w n a t i o n f o ro u r s e l v e s , dedicated t o justice, freedom and liberty. 7. A s l o n g a s w e a r e n o ta l l o w e d t o e s tablish a state o rt e r r i t o r y o fo u r o w n , w e d e m a n d not only equal justice under the laws o f the U n i t e d States, but equal e m p l o y m e n t o p portunities—NOW! W e d o n o t believe t h a t a f t e r 400 y e a r s o f free o r nearly free labor, sweat a n d blood, which h a s helped America become richa n d powerful, that so m a n y thousands o f black people should have t osubsist on relief, charity or live in poor houses. 8.
