rofessionally, she commenced her career in the field of environmental science, compliance and governance, and spent 25 years working in the waste industry. From this, she learnt that people are complex, unique and we all have our own story. Thanks to some wellbeing and health challenges she redirected her passion for science and learning new things, into the field of complementary and alternative medicine with a side dish of spirituality. You might call it woo woo, but for her the energy systems which drive our lives are her jam. She’s drawn to the wonder of our human experience. Naturally curious; she likes to figure out how and what makes us tick. She is passionate to empower people to migrate through their ‘story’ of life experiences to live their best life and shine their light. Mumpreneur Movement: Why did you start a business? Karen: I started my business based on a calling to help people and be of service. I’ve come to learn that the calling was for me to learn and apply the new skills for myself and then lead by example. Mumpreneur Movement: How has becoming a mum changed the way

you do business? Karen: After 4 miscarriages and being told I’d never have children, the experience of motherhood is an absolute gift. I used the same determination and mindset to create my business and attract clients as I did to call in my child. My business is like my ‘other’ child and I’ve come to learn through my breast cancer chapter that nurturing and investing in this child’s growth requires balance and that I must parent by example-to myself, my own child and then my clients. What I’ve come to learn in assessing my life after losing a breast is that my dharma is to learn how to love myself through experience, and then teach that to the world. It starts with embodying the self love practices to my child, who will one day mother an entirely new generation herself. What better gift could I share with the world than teaching others how to parent themselves?
