Keyboard Conversations Presents Chopin and Grieg Satur day, April 11 • 8 p.m.

T

he Keyboard Conversations® series continues 8 p.m. Saturday, April 11 in the Museum of Art Auditorium when Jeffrey Siegel performs Chopin and Grieg: A Musical Friendship. The program for this concert celebrates the Norwegian master Edvard Grieg, known as "the Chopin of the North." Hear his zesty Norwegian Dances and tender Lyric Pieces, as well as Chopin's polonaises, mazurkas, and the narrative Ballade in G Minor, storytelling in musical tone. The extremely popular Keyboard Conversations format offers listeners the opportunity to discover the influences that affected the creation of the music being presented. Mr. Siegel shares details about each composition that lead the audience to realize the subtleties and intri-

cacies of these great works. The evening concludes with a session of questions and answers with Mr. Siegel. Admission for MWPAI members is $37.50; general admission is $42.50; student tickets are $22.50. Flexible subscriptions are also available. For tickets contact the Performing Arts Ticket Office at 797-0055 or 800-754-0797. Tickets are also available online at www.mwpai.org.

In conjunction with the Shared Traditions exhibition, our April MWP Friday Night will feature a Pop-Up Museum, in which visitors are invited to bring an item of personal importance to them, write a short label about it, and display it for the evening. Shared Traditions highlights fine and decorative arts that address issues of place, ritual, personal adornment and identity, so you are encouraged to showcase your own object that speaks to these themes—something of ethnic or religious importance to you, perhaps—but anything meaningful to you (and suitable for a family audience) can be included. Do you collect old toys? Do you cherish a quilt that your grandmother made? Get the idea? Join the fun!
