held as an artist. “My work has been eclectic because I love the contradictions in the world around me, and the richness of those experiences,” Pribble said.
T
Pribble stipulated that his paintings and drawings be sold to benefit the Museum’s art acquisition fund as well as the School of Art. Museum of Art Director, Anna T. D’Ambrosio, states, “The Museum of Art owns 18 Pribble paintings and drawings. In his wisdom, Easton asked the Museum to work toward sharing his legacy with a larger audience.” Easton Pribble: A Retrospective features more than 50 of the nearly 200 works which are available for purchase from this generous bequest. A comprehensive digital catalogue of the collection will be available.
The exhibition highlights a lifetime of work by a beloved teacher and exceptional artist who lived from 1917-2003. “Our gallery is honored to be working with an arts organization of the stature and mission of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute to bring Easton Pribble’s extraordinary artistic legacy to the world,” notes Caldwell Gallery principal Joe Caldwell. After launching a successful career in New York, exhibiting at such prestigious galleries as The Pinacotheca and The Charles Alan Gallery in the 1950s, Pribble moved to Central New York in 1957 to teach painting and drawing at the MWP School of Art. His teaching career would span more than four decades. Pribble simultaneously maintained an active studio practice, employing Modernist stylistic methods to render landscape, architecture and still life, and he never stopped working to reconcile the concerns he

New Works by Local Artist in Museum Shop
he Museum Shop at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute prides itself in offering work by local artists and craftsmen. This month we present works by Jeannine Papelino.
T
Inspiration comes in many forms. As an artist, Jeannine Papelino discovered her true calling through art classes she first took at Munson-WilliamsProctor Arts Institute. As her interest in the arts grew, so did her creativity. By the time she finished her Fine Arts program through Mohawk Valley Community College, she discovered graphic design and photography could easily be incorporated into her artistic pursuits. As a new artist to the Museum Shop, Jeannine enjoys painting watercolor scenes like quaint cafe’s and restaurants, detailed architectural elements, bakeries, and images she's captured through travel excursions. From her collection of photos, Jeannine chooses images based on the subject's intricate detail, vivid colors, and a balanced composition to challenge her creativity. She loves to accentuate color and as a visionary artist, she believes that color and detail attract a viewer's attention - which is why it's become a significant style of all her creative work.
