A Special Welcome to Our Newest Docents The Museum of Art congratulates Susan Ohmann, Beth Tegart, and Marian Wilson who upon completion of 15 months of training join the ranks of the museum docents whose numbers now reach 40. Susan Ohmann has always enjoyed visiting museums and historic places. After retiring from 36 years of teaching, she thought volunteering at the museum would be interesting and rewarding. “Joining the docent team has been a gratifying learning experience,” she said. Beth Tegart has been an advocate for the arts for many years. From the spoken art of storytelling, to the decorative art of Victorian children’s pottery, to the fine art of the Hudson River School, all have held a deep and enduring fascination for her. Museums and libraries have always been important to her, and she is excited to become part of the MWPAI docent program. Beth looks forward to learning more from her new friends and colleagues. Marian Wilson was a past president of the Central New York Community Arts Council, a scholar with the National Endowment for the Humanities, and a coordinator of a public school enrichment program. As a docent, Marian plans to continue participating and promoting the arts in our community.

Interested men and women should have an enthusiastic and friendly attitude, the ability to communicate effectively with groups, a strong interest in art, and available time for training and presentation of tours.
