and play at least one instrument would not only teach focus but most importantly, it draws you into the community by sharing the arts and therefore the larger purpose of humanity (caring and belonging).
Q. What has been your favorite show so far at the theater, and is there anyone coming up that you’re particularly looking forward to seeing? A. That’s a hard question, I have been to many excellent shows here. If I was forced to pick, I would go with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo; her voice was astounding. The range of vocals really came through. It was just amazing to see the non-verbal communication between the two of them. Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox was my other recent favorite. It was an absolute stunning burst of voices, tap dancing talent, trombone, guitars, clarinet, and so much more. As for looking forward; Diana Krall is a must.

From Mozart to Movie Scores, Introducing Students to the Symphony As the school year draws to a close, so too does the 22nd season of our beloved School Days Series (SDS). For many children, this was their first experience with live theater. Thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and support from our long-time corporate partner D.F. Richard Energy, we were able to fully subsidize the SDS experience for more than 600 students from two local Title I schools this year. The impact was significant, with teachers from one school noting, “our resources and the resources of our families are extremely limited, making it challenging for us to provide our students with field trip opportunities to enhance their learning experience. This was an incredibly meaningful experience...”
Kitchen Tour Tips & Tricks Our Kitchen Tour is taking place on Saturday, May 13 in the Little Harbour neighborhood in Portsmouth. These houses, located just steps away from downtown, feature some of the hottest kitchen design trends, created and built by local artisans. We’ve got some quick tips to help you have a great tour.
This month, as part of our partnership with the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra, we’re featuring two interactive multimedia SDS performances with selections from Fantasia, Harry Potter, and other magical music. These performances teach kids how a symphony works together, and introduces them to the music in a fun and engaging way.
• Get your tickets early. Make sure to get your tickets before the day of the tour to get the best price and, added bonus, you’ll be able to skip the line at our B2W Box Office that morning.
It is strong collaborations with partners like these – and you – that enable us to fulfill our mission in the Seacoast community. To learn more about the School Days Series, visit TheMusicHall.org/Community, and check out our Sponsor Spotlight on D.F. Richard Energy and the SDS scholarship program.
• Plan your route. You can start at any of the houses on the tour by making your own route.
