+ Leadership series, which continued to present big issues and ideas with engaging speakers and leaders in the field through authors, artists, movies, and community members. The popular Writers on a New England Stage series once again brought Pulitzer Prizewinning and New York Times bestselling authors to the stage and the airwaves. The Ogunquit Playhouse’s production of White Christmas drew 16,000 people to the Historic Theater for the holidays, and this year’s musical, Elf the Musical, promises to bring joy and laughter to make your Christmas season memorable. After 24 years, the School Days Series continues to introduce thousands of students to live theater; this year 6,000 students attended a wide array of educational and fun shows. In choosing six of the absolute best, made by big name directors both in America and abroad, we’ve also chosen films that defy the simplicity of White Hat vs. Black Hat: almost all of these movies generated controversy on their release,

While Ray descends into personal turmoil, Charley finds acceptance and camaraderie at a local racetrack where he lands a job caring for an aging quarter horse named Lean On Pete. The horse's gruff owner Del Montgomery (Steve Buscemi) and his seasoned jockey Bonnie (Chloë Sevigny) help Charley fill the void of his father's absence.
ISLE OF DOGS PG13

FINAL PORTRAIT
R • 1h 30m • UK 6/14, 6/16, 6/20 • 7pm The story of the touching and offbeat friendship between American writer and artlover James Lord (Armie Hammer) and Italian artist Alberto Giacometti (Geoffrey Rush), as seen through Lord's eyes and revealing a unique insight into the beauty, frustration, profundity, and sometimes the chaos of the artistic process. From writer/ director Stanley Tucci. Also stars Tony Shalhoub.

RBG PG
• 1h 37m • US 5/16, 5/22, 5/24, 5/25, 5/26, 5/29 • 7pm At the age of 84, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon. But without a definitive Ginsburg biography, the unique personal journey of this diminutive, quiet warrior's rise to the nation's highest court has been largely unknown, even to some of her biggest fans—until now. RBG is a revelatory documentary exploring Ginsburg's exceptional life and career from Betsy West and Julie Cohen.
LOVE & BANANAS NR
• 1h 17m • Thailand 6/1, 6/5, 6/6 • 7pm; 6/3 • 4pm Elephant rescues in Thailand are rare, unpredictable, and often life-threatening. Actor/director Ashley Bell and a team of elephant rescuers led by world-renowned Asian elephant conservationist, Lek Chailert, embark on a daring mission across Thailand to rescue Noi Na, a 70-year-old, partially blind, trekking elephant and bring her to freedom. African elephants are slaughtered for their ivory, but sadly the plight of the Asian elephant has been completely overlooked.
THE GREAT SILENCE NR
• 1h 45m • Italy • some subtitles 6/9, 6/12 • 7pm For the first-time ever, the 1968 pinnacle of the spaghetti western canon is available to North American theaters. Django director Sergio Corbucci’s crowning achievement stars Klaus Kinski and Jean-Louis Trintignant as a vicious bounty hunter and a mute gunslinger who lock horns in the snowy mountains of Utah during the Great Blizzard of 1899. The film is notable for its explicitly radical politics and dark tone, matched by an atypical snowbound setting and beautifully haunting score by Ennio Morricone.
THE TEST & THE ART OF THINKING NR
• 1h 25m • US 6/15, 6/16, 6/20, 6/21 • 7pm; 6/17 • 4pm Each year more than 3 million high school students take the college entrance exams required by most four-year colleges in the US. For decades, however, there have been questions about exactly what role these tests play in the admissions process and how predictive they are of academic success. The anxiety-provoking exams, and the multibillion-dollar test-prep industry, have also become lightning rods in the ongoing national debate over equity in educational opportunity.
THE ENDLESS R
• 1h 51m • US 6/23, 6/26, 6/27, 6/28 • 7pm Following their Lovecraftian modern cult classic Spring, acclaimed filmmakers Justin Moorhead and Aaron Scott Benson return with this mind-bending thriller that follows two brothers who receive a cryptic video message inspiring them to revisit the UFO death cult they escaped a decade earlier.

We would like to gratefully acknowledge the generous contributions of the homeowners, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made this year’s Kitchen Tour a success. Over the past 27 years, this annual fundraiser has become a beloved Seacoast tradition and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to underwrite essential outreach and education efforts. OUR COMMUNITY Let’s Gather Together to Fight Hunger This is our fourth year collaborating with Gather (formerly Seacoast Family Food Pantry) for the Fill the Hall Food Drive. We all look forward to this event every year, as it is core to our mission of giving back to the community, through the arts and to one another. Please join us this year on Saturday, June 23 to fill the Historic Theater with bags of non-perishables and donations to help the families in our community who need it the most. Our yearly challenge to fill every seat helps Gather fuel their Summer Meals 4 Kids program, which aims to close the gap when subsidized school meals are not available. They provide 10 meals a week for over 400 children on the Seacoast for the 11 weeks of summer. It takes more than 12 tons of food to do this. All types of non-perishable foods are welcomed. Household items such as toilet paper, shampoo, toothpaste, and baby food are also needed. Donors are encouraged to take a selfie on the stage of the Historic Theater and share their good work with their social networks. And those who don’t want to park can drop bags off with volunteers who will be outside The Music Hall entrance at 28 Chestnut Street. For more than 200 years, Gather has provided emergency food aid, personal care products, and education for healthy living to Seacoast residents. Join us on Saturday, June 23 between 9am to 3pm to Fill The Hall with food or a monetary gift to help this organization. Find out more about how you can help at TheMusicHall.org.
