Successful Directors Club!
The Music Hall Directors Club is a social group of major donors who come together either at The Music Hall or other locations throughout the Seacoast. We love giving our donors an opportunity to get together to socialize and network with each other. We are always looking for new and unique ways to bring our donors together and we will continue to host these fun and exciting events! We would not be able to hold any of these events without our Directors Club sponsor — The Provident Bank. Thank you to The Provident Bank for your support of The Music Hall and for making events like our Directors Club possible. Your support is truly appreciated by us all. Star-Studded November Writers: Fun Facts The two best-selling fiction writers coming to Writers on a New England Stage this month—Anne Rice on November 4, and Janet Evanovich on November 20—have very different writing styles. Anne’s writing is lushly descriptive, and Janet pens a spare, modern prose. What they have in common is the craft of creating a compelling sense of place, a narrative of suspense that keeps us reading, and interesting characters who we hate to say goodbye to when the novel ends. We can’t wait to get inside the heads of these prolific and hugely popular writers, and revisit some of their memorable characters! For fans and new readers alike, here’s some intelligence on Anne Rice and Janet Evanovich to whet your whistle before their appearances:
ANNE RICE... • has written more than 30 novels since penning her first, Interview With the Vampire, in 1976, which became one of the bestselling novels of all time. • describes her new book, Prince Lestat, as modern-day sequel to all her previous Vampire Chronicle novels, exploring “the problems the vampires face today, as a tribe drawn together, almost inadvertently, by the actions and behavior of Lestat.” • On writing: “my advice is the same to all. If you want to be a writer, write. Write and write and write. . . ignore rules.”
JANET EVANOVICH... • spent a lot of time in “LaLa Land” as a child, which she describes as “an out-of-body experience -- while your mouth is eating lunch your mind is conversing with Captain Kirk.” • teams up FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare with charming con man Nicolas Fox in her hotly anticipated new novel, The Job. Their mission? To bring down one of the world’s most wanted and untouchable felons: the brutal leader of a global drug-smuggling empire. • On writing: “If being a writer is important to you, keep at it, keep improving, and don’t give up. I wrote three books that were never published.” Get more with e-news - new shows, special deals, and updates!
