By Hena Zuberi Muslim Link Staff Reporter As the White House convened a ‘Countering Violent Extremism Summit’ on February 17-19, 2015, protesters held a parallel Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) SpeakOut to express their concerns with the framing of the summit.
The problem is that the targets for all the programs are Muslim communities. According to the White House, CVE efforts address the root causes of extremism through community engagement, through programs that build awareness—including briefings on the drivers and indicators of radicalization and recruitment to violence;
