Looking for a screen time alternative this Summer? Come make something with us. Work with a different set of materials each day of the Open Studio. Follow along with the project of the day. Or make your own. The Art Studio is all yours. Students encouraged to bring oversized tshirts to cover their clothes. We do have aprons and coverings available. But we inevitably make a mess and recommend kids wear something that can stand to get a little dirty.

Watercolor Camp: Global Expedition
Ages: 7-13 years old
Ready to explore, ex periment and go on an expedition? Love to travel and paint as well? Learn epic wa tercolor techniques and complete a global passport in this summer’s Global Watercolor Expedition. Students will learn diverse wa tercolor techniques and complete projects inspired by regions around the world such as a California sunset, rainforest bridge, a Hawaiian quilt and much more. The week would not be a successful trip without a souvenir art passport, complete with stamps!

Fiber Art Camp
Ages: 7-13 years old
Love to play with textures and explore new art media, Fiber Art Camp is for you! Take a deep dive into the fun and creative world of Fiber Art — dyeing silk, building a homemade loom, weaving, making fiber art paintings and much more! We’ll discover the boundless potential of the medium as we explore traditional crafts and make connections to contemporary art. Students will make and bring home fun projects including a homemade loom!

Animation Camp
Ages: 8-16 years old
Kids explore the history, technology and techniques of this magical, illusory art form. Make your own stories one frame at a time. Tech included. Or kids can bring their own if they prefer. Campers encouraged to work in teams.
Drawing From Life Camp
Ages: 8 years old and up
Sharpen up your pencils and start the Summer off right. Gabrille Tufano (Ms. Gabby) gives you the foundational skills to take your work to the next level. Learn to ‘see? and draw like a pro in this super fun week-long intensive. Take it for one week or both. Returning students will get newer, more challenging exercises and projects.

Music Production Camp
Ages: 8 years old and up
Obsessed with pop, rock or hip-hop music? Ever wonder what goes into making the catchiest songs you hear on the radio? Composer and musician, Jon Kostal (of Uncle Jon’s Music, The Flat Cats and more) takes you through the production process layer by layer. Collaborate on making and recording your very own songs. You don’t even need to know how to play and instrument. Just bring your curiosity and love of music. And walk away with the makings for your first album.

RPG Camp
Ages: 10 years old and up
Role Playing Games (RPGs) encourage teamwork, exercise imagination, and help make new friends for life. Have you watched Stranger Things and wondered what D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) was all about? Challenge yourself and fight your own “Demogorgon” here! We’ll supply you with your very own polyhedral dice. CREATE, DRAW and BUILD your own characters. WRITE your own stories and backgrounds then ACT out your character by dressing up (if your heart desires) and FIGHT the BBEG (Big Bad Evil Guy) at the conclusion of a quest. Join us for one week or two.

Stage Door Musical Theater Acting Camp
For one week, campers will develop a show, complete with song, dance, solo work, and ensemble performance. The week will focus on famous shows, actors, and composers. The final performance will include numbers from Broadway’s favorites!

STEAM Camp
Ages: 7-13 years old
STEM + Art = STEAM! When kids combine STEM and art, they can really explore their creative side from painting to sculptures! Students will discover how science is all about exploring the beauty of the world, how technology requires thoughtful design and artistic presentations to appeal to users, and engineering is all about developing beautiful, functional designs. Students will engage in a totally fun learning experience and bring home many exciting creations including a robot that creates art!

Sculpture & Pottery Camp: 3-D Studio
Ages: 8-12 years old
Get your hands on paper mache and all kinds of clay. Build an object from the ground up. From beautiful, practical items like bowls and vases to wild sculptures made of unconventional materials. The possibilities are endless.

Acrylic Painting Camp

Summer Ballet Camp -West Suburban Ballet Conservatory
Ages: 6-8 years old
WSBC’s Summer Ballet Camp is open to students ages 6-8 years old. Foster imagination and creativity through movement while developing coordination, musicality, and an appreciation for ballet. Come and dance with us this summer!
