This holistic workshop is just what busy moms need. It will feature a Qi-gong practice which involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improv ing and maintaining health and well-being. It typically involves coordinating slow-flowing movements with deep rhythmic breathing and a calm meditative state of mind. To complement these practices short destressing techniques, various meditations for positive mindset, useful hacks to rewire your brain, as well as tools supporting a healthy lifestyle will be introduced. Aim to raise your vital energy, improve your strength, posture, and brain function, heal and have Fun!

AARP Driver Safety Course

Ages: 50 years old and up

These classes are offered at The Community House for drivers who are over the age of 50 and wish to update their driving skills. It is a classroom-only session. Many insurance companies offer a discount to drivers who have taken this program. You must attend both days of the session to receive your certificate. Pre-registration is required. No fee is needed to register. Payment is due to AARP presenter on the DAY OF class. Call or visit the front desk to enroll. Provide your name, phone number and email.

Plant Based Cooking Workshops

Ages: 16 years old and up

Summer is the best time to enjoy fresh local produce! After long wintertime it’s time to cook light and fresh. These classes will have herbs, veggies flours and spices that help cool the body. Recipes are short and quick, so you are not cooking long. This is the perfect class to boost your Vegan and Vegetarian cooking skills! Bring your daughter, sister, spouse, or a friend to class and learn these unique recipes together! All Students will eat and take leftovers home (depending on the class size)! Students will Prep, Cook and Clean up during and after the class. Register for one or all of these classes if you like. Registration is required the Monday before session date.

I: Leafless Salads

These salads have homemade sprouts, fresh veggies, and fruits along with seeds and nuts. You can easily turn them into main entrée for the family. Make ahead of time and take them to your summer picnics and even to the beach trip. A warm and Cold salad with Ayurvedic principles.

Session II: Wrap it up— Chilla

Learn to make gluten free wraps using beans, millets or rice. Use different flours to make wraps in less than 10 minutes or spend a day to make the most gut friendly fermented batter to rejuvenate your gut biota. This class will help you learn with least of tools all you need is a pan, bowl, ladle, and a spatula. You would be able to make use of those exotic flours from the flour aisle in the grocery stores.

Session III: Gluten Free King of all tables—Rice

Please your Vegans and Vegetarian friends and family all-round the year. Learn to make simple rice to exotic Biryani in this class. Veggies, beans, Paneer, and nuts to make the exotic rice from the lands of Kings and queens of India and Middle East. Rice can be made cooling for the body, or it can be spiced up to make it warming for the cool-cold days outside.
