Pen & Ink Workshop: Draw Your Home

Ages: 16 years old & up

Come see why the pen is mightier than most everything. Dr. Phyllis Kozlowski offers a special full day workshop to help you turn line drawings into multidimensional works of art. Students will learn how to interpret their house in pen and ink. Please bring a printed photo with a clear view of the house you would like to draw. Working from photos on a phone or tablet is not recommended. All other supplies included.

Introduction to Drawing

Ages: 16 years old and up

This class will provide opportunities for artistic growth in drawing and sketching techniques. Beginning students will focus on fundamental concepts such as measurement and proportion, shading and value. Students with previous experience will sharpen their observational skills and experiment with advanced materials and techniques to help develop your own unique style. Various subject matter will be explored including still life, portrait and figure drawing, and landscape.

Figure Drawing with Live Model

Ages: 16 years old and up

Join us once a month for figure drawing with a live, draped model. Learn proportion, shading and how to capture movement in a subject. Supplies included. All skill levels welcome.

Ages: 21 years old and up Gather your friends for a wine and paint par ty steps from home. We’ll supply the studio, canvas, paints, brushes and stemware. Even if you’ve never painted before, this is the perfect, relaxed atmosphere to try your hand. No pressure. All fun. Each evening will have uniquely themed project. The instructor will guide you through the materials and techniques. By the end of the night, you’ll have a masterpiece to take home.

Senior Jammers Club

Ages: 50 years old and up

Come perform with the Jammers for an afternoon of fun and instrumental music from the Great American Song Book and more. All Senior Musicians Welcome! If you are an intermediate to advanced instrumentalist, we would LOVE to have you. Bring your instruments and a folding music stand. Music will be provided! This group is FREE to join and meets monthly on Wednesdays, May 10, June 14, July 12 & Aug. 9.

Heart Saver CPR with Hinsdale Fire Department

Ages: 18 years old and up Heart Saver class - The Heart Saver AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) class is intended for people who need or desire certification in CPR but are not healthcare professionals. Classes include a pocket mask and training on Automatic External Defibrillators. Must enroll by the Monday before CPR certification date.

It’s a Beautiful Book Club

Join us for our monthly book club lead by retired teacher Margaret Gross. Margaret is a huge lover of books and reads for school kids weekly as well as enjoying regular novels on her own. Margaret has ran and been a part of several book clubs and would love to share her love of books with you. This is a casual book club for all lovers of books and open discussions. Walk-ins are welcome even if you have not yet read the book. Registration is free but, Cost is $2 per person and cash will be given to the group leader to submit to TCH on day-of. Everyone must register online or at the front desk before they attend a meeting. Once you register, please look into renting the book we will be starting to discuss in April; City of the Lost – Kelley Armstrong. This book will likely be available at all local libraries. Join us and BMO In this interactive workshop you will learn tips on Mobile Banking as experts will explain the various ways to use mobile banking and how to use mobile banking in a safe and secure manner. They will also be able to identify the pros and cons of performing different services using mobile banking vs. branch banking. Pastries coffee and tea will be provided. Our friend, Scott Johnson from Humana will lead this group in having a good time while enjoying lunch and answering fun trivia questions in a friendly atmosphere! Senior Eating for Health and Vitality

Ages: 50 years old and up

Join us for this an introductory nutritional workshop led by Cathy McMahon. Cathy has studied health, fitness and nutrition for over 35 years and was a private health coach for 10 years. In this workshop you will explore the healthy eating options that can get you feeling your best in your senior years. Tips on food, exercise and self care will be provided. This will 45 minutes of fun and knowledge that can keep your senior years fun and exciting. Cathy will also be able to help with any related questions afterwards. Coffee, Tea, Water & light snacks will be provided.
