The Aboyne Fountain 25 - Summer 2021

Page 17

The now buoyant Station Square has another new tenant and Aboyne has a new place to buy “green”... Deeside Re-Fill is a zero-waste shop, aimed at encouraging shoppers to reduce and reuse their plastic bottles so they don’t end up in landfill. They stock eco-friendy household cleaning and personal products, including from FillRefill.co, Faith In Nature and Dew, and also hope to expand into stocking food by the summer. The shop is the creation of Gayl Truby, and was previously run from a log cabin from the Truby home in Torphins. Many of you will be familiar with her son Thomas, who has made his name in local litter picking as The Rubbish Club. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-4pm, you can find out more about Deeside Re-Fill from their Facebook page, or by calling 07989 965551or emailing gaylmarielazenby@hotmail.com.
